I Wish I Could Leave Zero Stars This was one of the most…read morehorrible customer service experiences I've ever had experienced with a transportation company. The woman who answers the phone at Island Breeze Shuttle was rude from the second she picked up. She had a attitude about everything I said. Instead of being kind she was condescending. If she is a owner god help us......I couldn't remember the exact date of my booking, and instead of helping me, she acted irritated and completely dismissive. After giving me attitude, she finally agreed to search by my email address. Then she made a comment, saying that in all her years she had "never heard such an asinine comment." Completely uncalled for. When I told her I didn't appreciate how she was speaking to me, she hung up on me. This is not how you treat customers. I own a shuttle business myself, and I would never treat my clients the way this place treated me. If this is their idea of customer service, I can only imagine how the actual service would be. Beware--you won't get the service you expect here. I tried supporting a local company, and this is what I got in return. Terrible experience. One star only because zero isn't an option.

He claimed there was traffic and every time we called to see what was taking so long, he claimed he was 5-10 min away. My husband was super frustrated and called he main office to complain. The lady in the office hung up on him. The driver admitted that they double booked and he made another pickup/drop off. When he finally did get close to our pick up spot, he told us to walk 2 blocks to meet him. We would have been far better off with Uber or Lyft, but this company makes you pay up front so we waited so as not to lose our money. Biggest waste of almost $400. Save your money and DO NOT BOOK THIS COMPANY!!!

Selected a pick up time (7:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.) that would work for our flight. Flight arrived on time. Got a call from driver confirming our arrival and ability to meet at pickup spot on time. Got our bags and was at the pickup location before 7:00. No van. Called, was told the driver had left already, next van would "probably" arrive in 45 minutes to an hour. Later learned from next driver that THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME with "Gabe" (a supervisor?). On our way back, decided we wouldn't take a chance on Galveston Express, even though we'd paid, and took a Lyft back to the airport. Five minutes before we would have been picked up, however, we got a call AGAIN confirming that we would be off the ship in time. I'm certain he would have left us at the pickup spot again! This is a crummy way to treat your customers. I'm very sorry I didn't look at the Yelp reviews for this dishonest business. Advice to any of you taking a cruise out of Galveston -- get an Uber or Lyft! It's likely to be less expensive then this junky outfit, and the drivers are eager to please and plentiful.

Let me save you the headache. Here are all the reasons NOT to use Galveston Express…read more We used Galveston Express for transportation from the Galveston cruise port to George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), and the entire experience was frustrating, misleading, and poorly communicated from start to finish. 1. The cancellation policy is misleading and feels predatory. When booking, the website pushes "travel insurance" for an extra 15% of your total cost. What is not clearly communicated is that if you do not buy this add-on, you essentially have zero flexibility, even less than 24 hours later, even if you are willing to pay a cancellation fee. We tried to cancel the morning of pickup due to extreme cold and wind while traveling with kids. Customer service told us flat out that because we did not purchase the insurance, we had no option to cancel, no option to reschedule, and no option to pay a partial fee. The only choice was to lose the full amount. This was incredibly disappointing. The way this is presented during booking makes it feel like optional "insurance," when in reality it functions more like a required fee if you want any basic consumer flexibility at all. We were treated as if we made a mistake, rather than being met with any empathy or reasonable accommodation. 2. No transparency about the type of transportation or multiple airport stops. Nowhere in the booking process did it clearly disclose that we would be placed on a large bus that makes multiple airport stops. We were under the impression this would be a more direct shuttle. Because of this: * The bus left late due to loading many passengers * We went to two airports, not just one * Our airport was the second stop, turning what should have been about a 1 hour and 15 minute drive into well over two hours This significantly impacted our day and travel timeline. If this had been clearly disclosed upfront, we could have made a more informed decision. 3. Uncomfortable ride and poor overall experience To make matters worse, the bus had no working AC, and we were packed into a stuffy vehicle full of people. The driver himself acknowledged the AC issue. While the driver was kind and professional, he was the only positive part of the entire experience. 4. Zero customer care or willingness to help Customer service was rigid, unhelpful, and dismissive. There was no attempt to offer alternatives, partial credit, flexibility, or even basic understanding. The response was essentially, "You didn't buy the insurance, so too bad." That's not how you treat paying customers, especially families traveling after a cruise. Final Thoughts Between the misleading cancellation policy, the lack of transparency about the multi-stop bus route, the extended travel time, and the uncomfortable conditions, this service completely disrupted our day and added unnecessary stress at the end of a vacation. I would strongly recommend not using Galveston Express, especially if: * You are traveling with kids * You need any flexibility * You have time-sensitive flights * You expect honest, transparent communication about what you are actually booking There are better, more transparent transportation options out there. This company prioritizes rigid policy over customer experience, and it shows.

We were pre planning our escape from Galveston following our cruise knowing that two other cruise…read moreships were docking the same day as us. I pre booked with Galveston Shuttle to make sure the six of us had rides to the airport and didn't have to fight for or pay ridiculous prices for Uber or Lyft rides to the airports that service Houston. We had four people going to Houston Hobby airport and two people going further to George Busch airport. They took people to both airports on one motor coach. The coach was in great shape, very comfortable, the driver was safe and it had a great working air conditioner. They loaded your bags and unloaded your bags for you. We just gave them a little gratuity for their efforts. The price for our trip worked out to $56 per couple. The funny thing is that Galveston Shuttle contracts with Carnival Cruise line and you got on the exact same motor coach and Carnival charges this amount per person. Hmmmm, let me do the math for the exact same service. We got out of there pretty quick considering the amount of traffic that was in all the cruise terminals. Be patient while waiting, they stop at each terminal to pick up people and came just a little past time to our terminal. We were ok because we pre planned with enough time to get to the airport with out stress. So, do your self a favor and make sure you give yourself enough time to catch your flight. Don't wait till the last minute and then blame them.

The first driver picked us up and proceeded to drive us all the way from Tremont house to the Sea Wall area, which was completely packed with people. He obviously wanted a bigger fare, ripping us off by taking us as as out of the way as possible to our destination. In addition, he was talking on the phone practically the whole time on personal business with his bank. Super unprofessional. Once we were done at the festival, we were very apprehensive to call for a return taxi since we already had a terrible experience with the first one. However, because of the horrible decision by the city of Galveston to not allow Uber or Lyft, we were stuck with a horrible company with terrible service yet again. The new driver to our surprise only accepted cash (we had already waiting over 30 minutes in the freezing cold for this taxi). The dispatcher should've asked us about our pay preference. Another fail. Fortunately, I had one last $20 bill in my wallet. Unfortunately, the smell inside the cab was nearly unbearable. It smelled like stale old food and body odor. We were nearly gagging the whole time on the drive back to our hotel. Stay away from this horrible company and their terrible service. But not sure if anyone has much of a choice until the city of Galveston rethinks their ridiculous decision to let Uber and Lyft into this city.
