The food was delicious, plentiful, fresh and hot, as they grilled it on site. I appreciated that Islander's took care of everything... decorations, food, entertainment, DJ, set up & breakdown. Our guests loved the interactive Polynesian show, and I highly recommend the palm leaf weaving activity which was enjoyed by young & old alike. The food was to die for, grilled fresh on site (torturing you with the smell), and OH. SO. GOOD!!! We booked them last minute for an all school party, and they came through quickly and professionally. Set up authentic island educational (and fun) booths and kept the kids entertained all afternoon. All the teachers agreed that having Islanders Luau was like being on the Island itself. The show was mesmerizing and kept the kids (and adults) enthralled and completely captivated. I thought it would be an excellent idea to have a laua as my wedding reception after finding this company on here. The reviews were great and the pictures made me feel confident that this was a professional company. To give credit where credit is due, most of the food was amazing, the show was great, and the props were of very high quality. Unfortunately, Maril fell far short of the mark when it came to integrating his party into a wedding reception. He brought the wrong side dishes, forgot the tiki bar, and was extremely unorganized. I told him months in advanced, and over multiple conversations that there was no fire allowed on the property that we were hosting the event on. He went ahead and did the fire dance part of his show anyway. He promised me a DJ to do the first dances and did not provide one. Towards the end of the night when it came time for toasts he refused to let anyone other than the bestman/maid of honor and parents speak. He left without payment the night of the event, then changed the amount owed afterwards adding the tiki bar he brought late onto the order. I responded that I would only be paying half of the almost $1000 in gratuity he was charging me due to how much extra work I had to do, the fact that he had forgotten so many things, was rude to my family, and his servers informed me that he does not tip them out. He argued with me on this, and proceeded to call my family members to try and dispute it with them as well (which I had explicitly asked him not to contact anyone other than me in regards to this matter) I responded by telling him I would be paying no gratuity due to his conduct. When he finally decided to stop arguing with me and take my payment (3 weeks later) he told me you'll be charged x amount (the amount agreed upon) plus 3 weeks interest, and hung up the phone. By far this has been the worst interaction I've had with a company before. It made it that much worse that this happened at my wedding. read more

This review is based on an event I attended that was catered by Islanders Luau. The luau began with the sounding of the conch. Next came the pig hoisted on the shoulders of two guys. Yes! a WHOLE pig...Very impressive. Our Hawaiian buffet included mac salad, choice of white or fried rice, crisp stir fried veggies, teriyaki chicken, kalbi (Korean short ribs), Kalua pork. And...assorted fruit. Plenty of food for seconds and thirds. However, I was a little disappointed that there was only one bowl of Chinese Chicken salad (?). I managed to sneak a taste from hubby's plate. It was delish! I think the highlight for the kids...was definitely the shaved ice stand. (Snow cones...Hawaiian style) Added a genuine touch of aloha to the event. The entertainment took us on a tour of Tahiti, Samoa, New Zealand and Hawaii. I especially enjoyed the fire knife demonstration. Overall, I was very impressed with the food, entertainment and service. I would definitely consider them if I were planning a luau themed event. The 100+ guests thoroughly enjoyed the performance and we were surprised at how many of them volunteered during the show. I am an engineer and did tons of research beforehand. I tell you this to save you time and money. Just go with Islander's Luau and you'll be happy. Book early before they fill up. We hosted our company retreat and wife's birthday party in December. The per person plate price worked out to $175 each. This was based on the catering and entertainment options we chose and included a substantial discount from Islander's Luau. It does not include the table/chair rentals, alcohol, professional videographer or the fresh flower lei's. We ordered those separately to save some cash. The food was perfect. The live music was perfect. The performance and entertainment was perfect. Everything was perfect. Our luau was at night on December 22nd, meaning the temperature was around 43 degrees. The entertainers were all barefoot and barely dressed giving us an authentic 1 hour Polynesian performance. I bet they hated hearing "Aren't you cold?" all night. (Of course they were!) From their smiles and performance skills, you wouldn't know it. We definitely will be doing future parties at our venue, including luau themes. Wow, Islanders Luau offers a fabulous service. They came to our children's ministry event and put on a show! Rex and Jasmine are terrific dancers. It was a beautiful display of culture and history and a little comedy. The dancers were pleasant and professional. They arrived on time and gave us a show to remember. All the children and even the adults that were there including all our volunteers thoroughly enjoyed the show. We cannot wait to have them back on our campus. I don't know where to start with this group. I go way back to the 90's when I used their mom to do these events for me at a building in Brentwood. When I was looking again and didn't see Susiana's name I inquired to find out this was mom. After using them for years in the 90's I have now used them twice for an apartment resident party and you get what you pay for! These guys are awesome. Food incredible!
