Another amazing experience at this place! I got my nails done by Trinh and she has great attention to detail. I asked her to add pearls to my gel nails this time and I could tell she wanted to ensure the pattern looked even among each nail. I also appreciate how she was able to guess the color I wanted based on my photo inspiration. Def would recommend this place. Affordable prices too. read more

I love this place! It is really hard to find a nail place that does it right. Kim and Trinh are fantastic! My gel manicure set last for a long time, besides the fact that my nail grows fast and it looks outgrown. There are rarely any bumps/cracks even after having them on for 3 weeks! read more

It's been a year since I been here and they are still awesome as ever! I was embarrassed because I caught a toe nail fungus when I was on vacation in Maui. I needed a fill and pedicure when I was on vacation. I was there over a month. Never again am I ever going to get my nails done in Maui again! I didn't want to come to islands and get my nails done due to me being so embarrassed with an ugly toe. I was so happy today getting my nails and toes done again. They did an amazing job!! Amazing customer service! My friend recommended this place and I'm glad I gave them a try. I noticed a small dark spot on one of my nails and my nail tech tried to fix it but that one nail ended up being slightly darker than the rest. She offered to redo all of my nails to match. I really appreciated the offer cause I've been to a number of nail salons where they will just tell me that my nails look fine and not fix anything. I'll definitely be back! read more

Came here to just remove my old powder nail set. Unfortunately, I started bleeding. The nail tech did seem concern and put hydrogen peroxide/ alcohol/Neosporin. What concerned me was that she still placed clear coat nail polish (carefully not touching the blood). Which is an OSHA violation with blood. Not that I have any viral disease/illness but we should all treat blood as a universal precaution. I'd be aware of sanitation in this place. It doesnt seem like they are too careful with clean products. read more

Well let me start off by saying I was looking around in the area for a nail salon. Came upon this one right by my house that I always pass by and decided to stop in. So happy I did because the nail tech that did my nails as a walk in was fantastic gave me great advice cleaned up my cuticles and offered to do the gel X nails because they would be better for my nail bed being as short as it is. I highly recommend coming here for these techs are nice and it's clean inside and it's cool and they really cater to their customers. read more

this place is under new management. I happened to be getting my eyebrows done in the same plaza. They have 3 different levels of spa pedicure and i got the most basic one at $19. It even comes with a light massage. I highly recommend it!! I would definitely be coming back read more

I have followed Vicky around for my nails and eyebrows since I first ever started. Highly recommend her for an amazing acrylic job and any waxing. She just moved to this salon and for the past 2 times I've been here I have been extra pleased with the service I got, the time taken with my pedicure, and the great prices! I've never gotten my pedicure by Kim , but my mom swears she's the best she's ever had. I get mine done by the sweet young girl (forgot her name so sorry) but I am always pleased after mine. It pains me to do this but I have to bring it down to 3 stars because of sanitation issue. The last two times I went the tools didn't seem to be sterilized and I don't think they switch out the tools after each customer. Im sure they used the nail clipper on me without sterilizing it after it was used on another customer. The ladies there are very nice so I'm sad to say I won't be coming back. read more

Pedicure lady was nice but while she was doing the callus removing part she took my skin off with the rough pumice sponge.... it hurt so bad and still does while healing.... she wasn't paying attention and was going to scrap more until I told her to stop.. read more

Not sure of the name of the person that did my nails, but I would recommend her if you want a one paint nail job, nothing more. I feel bad for writing this review because she seemed very nice. However, I kept saying I wanted my nails oval-shaped and yet whenever she would show me my nails, they still had some kind of squarish edge to them. I eventually just settled for a rounded shape instead. Also, the polish of my nail ended up not exactly smooth. I inserted a photo for reference. If I show a photo of how I want my nails to be done, I understand it's not going to look exactly like the other person's nails, but I would expect it to look similar.. so don't tell me you can do it, when you can't, so we're not wasting each others time. Buuutt, I do give them more stars for their customer service. The workers are nice. One of the nail techs even put the nail polish on herself to show me what the colors together would potentially look like. I eventually did not end up using them, because the nail tech doing my nails could not do the design similar to photo I showed her. I'm not sure if I will come back again. If I do, maybe I need to ask for the nail techs the other yelpers are raving about. read more

Not sure why this place has such good reviews.. I came in with gel x asking for a new set. I sat down, she started working on my nails, and she literally starts pulling and trying to yank the gel x off my nails and I am literally screaming in pain. I asked her is this how you usually remove gel x? She goes well you want it removed right? This way is faster... I've had my nails done for years and this has never happened to me before. They soak your fingers and wrap it with aluminum foil etc. Finally she soaks my fingers but doesn't even bother to wrap them in foil. Took two hours and the nails weren't worth it in the end. In one of my nails there's a cute little air bubble. Definitely never coming back. read more

I've been getting my nails done in the Rowland Heights/Walnut/West Covina /Diamond Bar area for while but never tried Island Nails. First time I went in to do a color correction from another salon, but was so satisfied with the care Kim put into it as a last minute walk in. So I started getting my fills here. Kim does an amazing job with the design and makes sure it's to my liking before finishing or continuing, checking in and asking questions about length, shape, color, etc. They price well and are flexible with payment type. Amazing! First time here and I can assure you it won't be my last. I made a same day appointment and they were able to accommodate me and my child which was amazing, especially during these COVID times. Had to wait when we got there but that is expected during this time and due to limited capacity. The biggest reason for my review is that they were amazing and patient with my child. It is not easy to find a salon that will be patient with an impatient and excited 5 year old. They made going to the salon much more enjoyable and less stressful. They were also very clean and took their sanitation procedures very seriously. We will definitely be back !!! read more

I've been going to Kim for about 10 years now. Started with just a pedi. I've always had natural nails which I did myself. After years of Kim suggesting gel manicure I finally agreed 2 years ago. Best decision ever! I go to the gym 5 days a week, 2 hours a day. I weight train and was never able to have long nails before. Kim does an amazing job and my nails are still as strong as they were before I started getting gel manicures (I check every time I get my mani). I drive anywhere from 30 mins to an hour each way, every 2 weeks to get my mani/pedi. That's how good Kim is! She takes pride in her work, is accommodating and one of the sweetest people I've ever met! read more

I went in on a Saturday as a walk-in and they took me in right away, which was nice. I got the regular pedicure and it was probably the longest I've ever had... took over 2 hours. The technician seemed inexperienced. Only a couple of days later, my polish began chipping. I noticed that she applied very minimal top coat and a couple of the nails did not have a clean application (polish flooded the cuticle). The price was relatively cheap - $25 before tip, however for the reasons listed above I likely won't be returning. read more

I was a walk-in. The prices are relatively cheap - $30 for a mani/pedi. However, they asked for cash up front before my nails were painted and then reversed the color for my fingers and toes. While cutting my cuticles, they also cut my finger while cutting my cuticles but didn't say anything (maybe didn't notice?) and just continued on with the service. The polish on the pedicure is uneven as well... however they were very nice and glued a crack nail together. I'm attaching a picture of the non-cracked nail to account for any discrepancies the crack may have caused. The attitude was a bit stand-offish and cold. I think there are better nail salons in that intersection you can go to. read more

I am pregnant and unable to cut my own nails, and I didn't want my husband to help, so I called and scheduled for a quick session to cut my nails today, just my toes. She did a great job, and when she (forgot to ask her name) finished she didn't know how much to charge me, and she even said it's ok. I was surprised and left her with $10 and told her I still have few more months to go, so I'll definitely come back. I left wishing I had skipped the pedicure altogether. That was ultimately the biggest reason for my rating. While I was very pleased with my manicure, the disappointing pedicure outweighed the positives, and because of that, I don't see myself coming back. She reuses nail files and tips between clients without disinfecting them. There is no visible sanitation station or wipe downs in between clients. Brushes are shared across clients. The floors are consistently dirty and dusty. This is a real fungus and infection risk and people deserve to know before they book. The quality of work has also declined significantly. Manicures feel rushed, hangnails are left unaddressed, and she frequently complains about certain colors or designs being too difficult rather than just doing the job. It does not feel like someone who takes pride in their craft anymore. I wanted to support a small business and I did for a long time. But I cannot in good conscience recommend this place based on what I have experienced and observed.

I had a design in mind coming in, but they share more recent designs that they've done and I ended up going with one that they recommended. I also needed two gel x tips put on because my nail chipped beyond repair the day before, but it sounds like they can usually fix minor issues. It all came out wonderfully, and looks even better in person. Because they are so detail oriented and careful, this appointment will take a long time. I think we were there for nearly 3.5 hours in total, so schedule your time appropriately. It's not cheap, but the nails are very sturdy and good quality.

I didn't do any crazy style or stuff but I wanted to do something simple this time since I was going to an interview. But I will be back for sure the coming week and do some more design this time. Rather than taking accountability for the conduct described, the owner attempted to dismiss the incident by characterizing the use of an unclean towel as a mere "misunderstanding." Such a response is deeply troubling and reflects a lack of transparency and responsibility. The issue was not a misunderstanding. The technician attempted to reuse a towel that had already been used on another customer during my sister's pedicure service. This was witnessed and confirmed by another customer in the salon. Only after being confronted did the technician stop disputing the matter and obtain a clean towel. The owner's attempt to minimize this conduct raises serious concerns regarding sanitation practices within the salon and whether similar incidents may have occurred previously without customers' knowledge. Equally concerning was the technician's conduct following the incident. While she attempted to adjust the water temperature after my sister notified the technician that the water was unbearably hot, she never apologized, or demonstrated any concern for my sister's comfort. Instead, she began scooping water from the pedicure basin with a bowl while my sister sat there visibly uncomfortable and distressed. At that point, my sister no longer felt safe or comfortable continuing the service because she had lost confidence in the technician's judgment, professionalism, and hygiene practices.
