Out of all the nail places I've been to, this has to be one of my favorites. Kay is super kind and sweet, also professional in response time and quotes, and quick at service without compromising quality. She made my nails look so natural and nice! I got many compliments on them. This place is located in a plaza with lots of parking and easy to get to from a couple freeways. It also has a local nail shop vibe as if Kay is the only nail artist in town. I loved my nails and will surely be coming back. I decided to try Kay's Nail Bar since it is nearby. Kay is very sweet and I've always been happy with my nails. She uses mainly Japanese branded gel nail polish, which is definitely more durable and often lasts about 1 month without breaking or chipping for me. With Kay, she makes it easy and time efficient as I send her a text message of the nail color/design beforehand...then she has everything set aside and ready to go by the time I arrive. Highly recommend making appointments with her! PARKING: Free in the small plaza/lot its located in. Only con is that it is currently just her. If you wanted to get a service done with a friend/partner, then it would just take longer as you would have to wait for each other to be done. I have found my new nail spot. Catered my nails and she was so patient with me even though I was completely undecided on my nail color. She made the experience so easy. And the quality is just top notch. She took her time and didn't rush the process, which I appreciated. She gave me a hand massage and gave my hands a little facial at the end. Came in to get a gel manicure with some designs on each nail. I booked an appointment over Yelp by messaging the business and got an appointment at 1 a couple days in advance for me and my boyfriend who was getting a pedicure (his first one, he just wanted to try it out). Pedicure: We actually came around 15 minutes early and got to start my manicure about 10 minutes early which was cool. We had a great time and my boyfriend enjoyed the standard pedicure. It was $22 for around 20 minutes for the standard pedicure. He said his feet felt very smooth and he enjoyed it. Manicure: My manicure took about an hour. The person who did my nails was fast but not rough which was great. When she did my cuticles, I didn't bleed at all which is rare for me, so that was a big plus! I had a picture of what I wanted and she was able to recommend the right colors. I was also able to choose what gold nail accessories I wanted from a pretty decently sized collection. The gel manicure was $38. The marbling was $5 for each nail. Small gold accessories were $1, medium sized $2, large sized $5. My total ended up being $69 not including tip, which is somewhat expensive. I know some places are cheaper, but also I'm very satisfied with the way my nails came out. The nail artist applied several coats of gel to make sure none of the gold would come off, but my nails still weren't that thick at the end which was cool. Only problem I had was that one of the gold foiling on one finger is sticking out a little so the nail is not completely smooth, but it's a very small issue. Would I come back again? Maybe! This is an updated review. The owner, Kay, personally reached out to me and was willing to fix my chipped nails free of charge. I told her what my concerns were and she explained to me everything she would do. My concerns were: 1) they filed my nail down very thin so they were very fragile and had already broken 2) the gel nail polish was already chipping after 3 days of normal wear 3) my white nail polish was starting to lift on the edges Kay was very meticulous and inspected every single nail and explained to me that she would redo the chipped black and peeling white nails, but that the green was still fine (which I agreed). While waiting for the acetone to do its thing to remove the gel, she explained that she would apply builder gel to each nail, which would help to strengthen my nails. When doing my nails, she really took her time. She reshaped the nail I had broken and made sure my nails were even on both hands. She was gentle and patient, and once she was done, she went back and double checked every single nail to make sure everything was fine and that if I was still having problems, I could contact her and come back to fix it. Kay is a business owner who runs her shop with honesty and integrity. Covid hit a lot of small businesses, but Kay still remained gracious and took the initiative to reach out to me and fix her employee's work. I appreciate that she took the time to drive back to her shop to fix my nails, and I will most definitely be coming back for Kay's work in the future. read more

Both did an excellent job! Mine were harder to do because I had just cut them two days earlier (wasn't expecting to come), but Linda did amazing work. Took about 1.5 hours because we did (1) mani-pedi + (2) gel + (3) French nails (total cost was ~$100/person because of all the options we chose this time around). I wanted to wait a couple weeks before posting my review on my nails so I could give my opinion on my nails to the full extent. Needless to say, I absolutely love my nails! My time with Kay was amazing-- she was very attentive and thoughtful, as well as quick with the service. She helped me take off my acrylic + gel nails and did a Japanese gel extension (gel x) with a design that I showed her. The nails have lasted with absolutely no issue thus far-- and typically at other nail salons, I have a huge problem with how quick they go, because they usually end up with uneven acrylic nails. Kay's nails are perfectly shaped and are very even-- no issues at all! It has been 2 weeks and they are still shiny and beautiful, and I still get compliments from strangers. I've only gotten two pedicures here and this time was no better than the first. I have pretty sensitive toes and when I got my first one I remembered how discomforting it was. They charge $5 to remove gel polish, FYI. The only reason why I decided to get it done again here was because I really didn't want to go two places to get my nails done and my toes. This time, was really discomforting. The lady working on my toes kept using the nail filer to file down my nail and eventually starting filing my skin. I cringed a couple times. When she was removing my cuticles on my toes, the same digging into my skin occurred. Very un-relaxing. Not only that but the water was far too hot, and they don't even throw in anything to the water, not even epsom salt... it's just plain hot water. Even for the most basic pedicures at places I've gone to they at least made the water seem like there was something special about it... I mean at least make the water turn blue... I love getting my manicures by Kay she's great but the other staff, I don't think are as qualified.... the lady working on my nails which was just gel polish really dug into my cuticle and it was just painful... I love how this place uses Japanese Gel because it's definitely more sturdy than regular gel polish but legitimately less than 10 minutes into my drive I realized my pinky polish chipped. I've had minor issues with their work, like bubbles, uneven coats and chipping a few days after I get it done but I expected it to be from my line of work: I am a manager for 3 Food & Beverage Concepts so I do a lot with my hands, but for my polish to chip so soon... really made my experience even worse. I don't think spending $68 is worth it for both a mani-pedi. I am not sure if I will come back... especially in the summer, it's 88 degrees outside and most people want to escape the heat, for this place to not have the AC turned on always, it was unbearably hot. There wasn't even a fan to oscillate the place and it wasn't until I was finished after sitting there for an hour+ that the AC finally turned on. In love with my nails!! Came here for the first time today after months of hearing my best friend rave about Japanese gel and how wonderful the service is here. We grew up getting manicures together and going to the same nail salons, so I knew I had to try it. I was hesitant initially to try this place because I would be paying $32 for Japanese gel (brand is called Presto) as opposed to $20 at my usual gel manicure salon. Usual gel for me lasts probably 3-4 weeks, and I kept questioning my best friend as to why Japanese gel was so wonderful. My takeaway? - super thin layer as opposed to gel, where there is clearly a thick layer of polish - doesn't chip apparently (I'll update my review if it chips easily) - lasts up to 6 weeks (based on what my bestie has said... of course each person is different!) I gave it a go with purple/mauve nails and glitter ombré and I was so shocked at how quick and efficient my lady was (I believe her name was Jing)! She was very nice and talked to me throughout the process. I also met the owner, who was extremely nice as well :) the place is so clean, and the prices seem reasonable! I'll be back for sure :) $32 presto mani + $5 glitter ombré = $37 Worth every penny hehe P.S. I heard the owner come in and ask her workers if the people they had previously worked on were satisfied. You don't find places who actually really care about customer satisfaction like that often! First of all, I appreciated kay reaching out on yelp (see my original review) to offer to fix my nails. I didn't have time to go back and the chipped nail wasn't terribly obvious so I didn't bother to go back for it. But weeks later, I did go back to have my old gel removed and to get new ones- the old ones lasted a long time and were still mostly good but my nails just grew too fast lol. This time I tried the Japanese gel. Loving my nails so far and I'm hoping they will last as long as (or supposedly longer) the OPI ones. I especially appreciated the girl who helped me remove my old gel polish (I'm usually not a big fan of gel manicure bc the removal process is so tedious and harmful to natural nails). She was really gentle and detailed oriented. $37 for the gel manicure (usually $32 but I forgot to ask if the $5 was for the removal or my special design). Several of my friends have come here and love their quality of products and service. You should try it too! read more

First off I just want to say that I have been to this nail salon 2 times before and have been very happy with the services I received. I got a glitter gradient the first time and another gel design the second time, both gel on my natural nails back in 2019. Absolutely no complaints so I wanted to try their Gel X this time and got them done on 6/5/2021. I don't know the name of the girl that did my nails but she was very nice and I feel like she was taking her time with applying the nails and design. Overall, I liked the design and appreciated her patience. However upon closer inspection, I had a couple of issues with the execution. I noticed she missed the sides of some of my nails, which you can see in the picture. Something not pictured is that there were some rough edges on some of the nails as well from the gel used to adhere the extension to my nail, which I had to file off myself after the appointment. I still have a decent tip as I know doing nails is hard work and again she was very patient. I struggled between giving 3 and 4 stars because I was a bit disappointed at how much filing I had to do after the fact to get them to be smooth on the sides and the application of the gel, and I also had very good experiences in the past. Next time I probably will not get the gel X and will stick to growing out my nails and just getting the regular gel manicures, and maybe request Kay herself to do my nails as I've read many good reviews about her work. read more

EDIT: Kay was very professional about reaching out to remedy the problems with my nails and fixed them for free. Made my friends cuticle bleed. Quite a deep cut. Lady was apologetic but still...I expect better from a nail salon. The lady who did my nails was very thorough. I guess there was some cotton ball fibers or something in the nail polish so she ended up redoing my pinky. The nail polish after drying is bubbly 9 out of 10 of my nails have bubbly polish. Not happy at all. Also the table I was at had some other persons nail clippings on it. Gross. At least my friend and I were able to schedule same day appointments. Also decent pricing. They offer 10% off for first time customers (but its really only 1$ off.) Comes out to 11$ per regular manicure. Did t get a pedicure but their basins were very nice and modern too. kay was the one who did my nails and I got a simple one color Japanese Presto gel (color 183 if anyone is interested). Presto is a bit more expensive ($32) but totally worth it. I also had a broken nail and Kay fixed it for me! They are also doing one free sticker design with every nail job and currently they have a 15% discount special for their grand opening. this was my first visit at Kay's - they are currently doing one-on-one appointments because of COVID. they were very accommodating and very friendly when i called ahead to schedule an appointment. i have never gotten japanese gel before, but after my experience today, i definitely am giving it another go. the owner Kay did my nails, and she was very thorough, patient, and meticulous to ensure i was satisfied with my experience. highly highly recommend her!! she does an amazing job. my pedicure was handled by another young woman (she was a bit rough and perhaps a bit inexperienced, but definitely went out of her way to fix any minor mistakes she may have made.) i do wish she was a bit more meticulous when painting my toes, but no complaints otherwise. overall, a wonderful experience! definitely take the time and stop by. read more

Very clean salon and due to COVID, they are only allowing appointments only. There's a sanitizing station at the door and they take your temperature and have you sign a waiver before you can enter. I've been here a few times before for gel manicures as well as pedicures but I took a break for a while because I wanted my nails to recover since they tend to break if I'm constantly redoing them every month. I desperately needed a pedicure so I came in today to get one. I've been helped by two other girls there before who were pretty good and this time, I was helped by Kay. The service here is great; I usually don't expect these types of higher end salons to really pay as much attention when giving pedicures, but they had a really good callous removal service and I had an ingrown nail in one of my toes and they were able to help me get it out. Everyone here has been pretty detailed with both manicures and pedicures and constantly make sure throughout the process that everything is going according to your preferences.
