Everything is very well maintained, very clean and smells amazing. They gave us a pot set when we moved in which was very helpful, our last stove ruined most of the pots we had. We moved into a brand new unit, we don't worry about making noise as we're on the second floor. The gym has everything you need with lockers to keep your stuff "safe" (as if you need to). There are grills in every shared space. Study rooms (7-9?) and a lot of common areas. A dog wash. If I keep listing the good things about this place then the review will be wayyyy too long. I can tell my family has become so much happier moving here!

The higher ceilings give it an open, loft-like feel, and the layout was clearly designed with both comfort and functionality in mind. I especially appreciate the large walk-in shower in the main bathroom and the full-size refrigerator as my household likes to cook some of the time--details like these make a big difference in comfortable day-to-day living. Secured parking and on-site storage have also been invaluable conveniences, which aren't currently available at a nearby competing apartment community. Did you know Treasure Island is part of the city of San Francisco? I did not, and was very happy to learn this when I considered moving here--the City of San Francisco includes Treasure Island within its borders. The curious might be wondering how easy it is to live here on Treasure Island, and I'm excited to report it's dead simple--the city proper is just a short ten-minute ferry ride away (the Treasure Island Ferry runs throughout the day at intervals), a quick car-trip if that's your thing, or the 25 Muni Bus which connects straight to the Salesforce Transit Center in just shy of 15 minutes and runs 24 hours. Deliveries are just as easy and convenient as ever, too. Getting in and out of the city proper to interact with everything I love about it is a snap, and on top of that I get to enjoy everything about the beautiful, peaceful, easy life that is makes living on Treasure Island a hidden Bay Area gem. As for the community itself, Hawkins offers a beautiful rooftop common area which is stunning--a spacious, stylish place to relax or entertain with grills, plenty of seating, fire pits, and unbeatable Bay views--and a lovely ground-floor courtyard that is similarly gorgeously appointed. The gym is impressively equipped, and I love having a dedicated yoga/stretching studio right on site. The community is clean and beautifully furnished and I've enjoyed using the co-working and clubhouse areas when I need to. What really sets Hawkins apart, though, is the management and staff. They are incredibly responsive, helpful, and professional. Any time I've had a question or needed assistance, it's been handled quickly and with great care. The customer service is truly top-tier, and it's clear the team here takes pride in the community they support. If you're looking for a beautiful, well-managed place to call home in a prime location with all the right amenities, Hawkins Apartments is an easy choice. Im terribly embarrassed to have been a tenant here once but I am writing this review not necessarily to slam these SRO's but to try and be helpful & useful by warning people about this Building! First off, they are TINY TINY. 175 - 200 Square Feet Small. They are Micro Apartments. Absolutely DISGUSTING for San Francisco to encourage/permit Single people to Live in. Rent is around $875 and you have to meet low income requirements to qualify. Im not sure about the details or if a section of the building is reserved for Section 8, Handicapped, People on Welfare/SSI/SSDI but the Location is Absolutely Dodgy... surrounded by Liquor Stores, A NOISY Freeway, Construction, Hazards, Dangerous Alleys, and Drug Addicts & Dealers are all over this place and the surroundings despite being 'conveniently' located in SOMA across from Whole Foods, Escape from NY Pizza, and close to Caltrain, Safeway, and the Giants Stadium. Each Units has ONE sink that you use for cooking and washing up. Tile is artificial Plastic flooring & there is carpet in the 'Living' space. The Unit I rented was INFESTED with Bed Bugs (Which do not Discriminate) Bed Bugs are a HUGE PROBLEM in this building; and had taken over & the carpet that takes up most of the building just adding to the infestation. The carpeting is the absolute worst, & brown in colour. There are bathrooms in each unit with a shower and toilet & they are painted gray/darkest blue & are dark & scary, not to mention incredibly slippery & accident prone. The 'perks' of living here are the Trash Rooms & Laundry Rooms on Each Floor. There is a patio on the roof with a view of the freeway and all the industrial construction. The second floor has a room with mail boxes, vending machines & a pool table, 'library' & 'gym' & there is Security of course around all night, though they are VERY busy attending to the many problems this building has. Free cable is included but you have to provide your own TV. There is a big fridge/freezer in each micro unit, metal burners, a few painted wooden shelves, no space for even a table. Everything is CHEAP. The rooms are secure and you access each Unit with a Hotel style Card/Key which is a bit unusual. The tenants that rent here are all supposed to be single, as the tiny micro units couldnt possibly fit more than one person & everyone here has 'Low Income' although I saw some families crammed in to Single Units. A lot of bad activities have occurred in this building - drug deals, crimes, overdoses, deaths, horrible fights, scary interventions, & this building was often horribly unpleasant, loud, & noisy. Be warned, The City of SF ought to intervene & put an end to these kind of establishments for people to have to live in. They're disgusting. I hated living here but I thought I had no other option during that time I was a tenant & it was an absolute blessing in disguise that I moved. I literally left everything I owned behind & am trying to forget that I lived here. There are no good memories associated with this dreadful awful horrible place & I feel sad, ashamed, & embarrased for having lived here. If you do decide to consider YBC, please take this review in to consideration, but regardless, do go by & see with your own eyes by all means. Yerba Buena Commons often advertises its micro units for rent on Craigslist. Also do a bit of research on the building/Micro/SRO Apartments on google.

If you're looking to live there, here's the lowdown on the units: Units A and B are North and N-East facing, C&D are East and SE facing, and E is south-facing. Views go from city views to water to south or ballpark views. Units F-H are West facing from FiDi to south west facing. The higher floors are basically corner units with one or two duplexes (A & E). If you're looking to buy, think about whether you want the sun as it rises or sets, and if you prefer views of the hills of I want to say Twin Peaks, the water views, Ball Park, or some part of the Bay Bridge. One plus is that w the Bay bridge Lightshow and Infinity situated north of it, the show is great. On New Year's eve, you get front row seats at the fireworks too. There's a mix of people living there, ranging from bachelors to young couples, young families and more and more empty nesters living in their dream city home. events have been catering to all of the above so can be a home to grow into. I like the fact it's not a valet building and you get a deeded spot, which some people rent out. The downside is that there are very few parking spots o the street that are not metered. Makes visitors not want to come. Overall, if there's an issue the office will do their best to address it. In the next few years, I hear Folsom will be a Blvd with more shops from 2nd ST to the water...I think that's great news!

The next day there was no water for over 3 hours and when it was restored the water was contaminated and not drinkable for over an hour and there was no hot water when I went to bed at 11pm. The apartment is very noisy on the 34th floor since the windows are not sound proof. Sirens, car horns, motorcycles, street cleaning and trash pick up are many of the sounds bombarding the unit 24 hours a day. Super disappointed the a new "luxury" building was not built better to insulate against street noise. And several other neighbors I've talked to shared the same noise complaint. I would not recommend this apartment building.
