The premium all you can eat sushi is the way to go... If you can eat a ton... you'll have four rounds of kitchen food and sushi/sashimi to your heart's contentment... But the 4 premium nigiri... it was magical! Not Michelin star level... but delightful and the rice served at the perfect temp and cook... I could taste each kernel... beautiful! Plenty of specialty rolls and kitchen food! The spicy pork belly is delicious but it'll fill you up if you don't have a group with you. I think the best thing to do is to come with 4 or more who love to eat and everyone order in agreement and eat a little of every roll and kitchen food. It's just too much for 2 people. The servers are extremely helpful in suggesting what are their best dishes. But make sure you get the premium nigiri... the rest is just filler.

Went here last night for dinner with friends and had a very good time. We did the all you can eat option and went and ate all the unlimited choices of nigiri and sashimi. Sushi quality wasn't bad and they did somewhat mess up our service last night by forgetting a few items but made up for it and bounced back. I like that they have their own private rooms for diners because it gives a sense of privacy for the experience. Would definitely come back to try other options.

Came here for my birthday. When you first walk in, the attention to detail to the atmosphere is amazing. The staff was super helpful to explain the rules of AYCE. The amount of options they have for the food was actually nothing like I've experienced before. Typically you go for AYCE sushi or AYCE bbq/hot pot. This place I think had an amazing balance of Izakaya and the premium sashimi being the show stealers. Yes. There's a max of how much you can order the premium sashimi. We started round 1 with them and they really set the bar for the rest of our experience. As much as we love sushi, my family and I kept wanting to order more of the small plates or the pork belly (my kid had 3 orders of it himself) or the ramen. Everything from the quality of food, to the private dining room, to the service, everything seemed worth the price. This is a bit of a drive for us so we will definitely mark it as a place to drop by when we are up in northern VA to get some great quality food and service.

Very cute inside. It has separate mini rooms for small parties. It's in a strip mall so don't let the exterior deceive you as it is aesthetic inside. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The fish slices on top of my rainbow roll were pretty thick. I also got the yellowtail ponzu which was a tasty. The only negative is the service is really slow. And the waitress had a really hard time understanding what we were trying to order which was a little odd. But she finally hand wrote the order and didn't get it wrong. The menu is extensive and I would return again. They have after 9pm happy hour pricing so drinks were half off !

Izakaya's seem to be the rage these days as they have a nice combo of Japanese dishes and drinks combined with the Japanese Izakaya look and feel. They did a good job designing the place and there are several private rooms which is a nice touch. A unique aspect of Issho is they offer AYCE sushi...interesting. $40 AYCE on the weekend isn't too bad but AYCE sushi can be iffy as the quality can be suspect. We decide to try the AYCE as you are probably lookkng at $30-$35 per person if you get an entree and an app so why not? Note- you only get 1 order per person of the premium sushi (Salmon Belly, Toro, Yellowtail Belly & Bluefin Tuna) but you can order as much of the standard sushi/sashimi as you like. The sushi and rolls come out pretty quickly and yeah the sushi quality is definitely better than other local AYCE sushi options in Nova. I am pleasantly surprised. I have to say virtually all dishes are tasty - cold soba, seaweed salad, hwe dubap, shumai, miso soup, etc. Issho is a keeper...whether you go AYCE or decide to order off the menu a la carte I think you will enjoy it. Will come back to try the Nabe soup, yakitori and other dishes.

Love the clean Japanese decor and lighting makes it feel really modern. Really clean and simple. Came here for my birthday trip getaway just for the beef naba soup. I could have ate it all to myself. It was that good. Yakitori was ok. Had to call on our server a few times otherwise no complaints and plenty of parking.

Cute decor and atmosphere. Perfect for a casual dinner but still nice enough for a date night. The lighting and decor give it that classic izakaya feel without being too loud or crowded. My friend and I shared the truffle udon pasta, Crazy Dragon special roll, and takoyaki. The Crazy Dragon roll came with tempura shrimp, cucumber, eel, spicy crab mix, eel sauce, tobiko. It was enjoyable and had a nice combination of textures and flavors. The truffle udon had great texture. The noodles were perfectly chewy with a nice bounce. It leaned more toward a stir-fry style, with a subtle truffle aroma rather than a bold, heavy flavor. The takoyaki was solid and pretty standard -- crispy outside, soft and savory inside. Service was friendly and attentive, though food timing was slightly staggered during peak dinner hours.

The BEST sushi spot in nova tbh. The service was so kind and always checked up/greeted us. I recommended this spot to a friend and she throughly enjoyed it too. A great setting without being too crazy. Garlic Bomber Rice: 9/10. Had a little kick and the meat in it was so good. Torikara : 9.5 best tasting chicken karage I've ever had but it came with only 5 pieces and we were feining for more. Enoki Maki: 7/10 nothing special still good Momo Maki (chicken thigh): 7.5/10 nothing special still good. Nicely marinated. Pork belly Maki: 9/10 nicely marinated and flavored but was a little hard/too much candied. Blazing Tuna Roll x2 : 8/10 spicy tuna + tuna + jalapeños not as amazing today than normal but still Yum. Spicy Roll Set : 7.5/10 18 pieces for 18 dollars is a great steal. Solid sushi. Gorilla Roll : 9/10 ofc I got this like durrr. Spicy tuna with unagi eel & avocado outside so me so good

I pinned Issho in my 'VA restaurants to try' collection here on Yelp after being recommended to give it a shot from another Yelp Elite. Unfortunately I think I'll pass on visiting again. Here's an overview of my experience. What went well: + parking was super easy + we were seated immediately at their bar area + interior design is really nice. They have private dining areas which I think is nice + tried the Amberjack and Seabream nigiri and they were both tasty + The team did their best to make our experience better + Spicy Yellowtail roll was pretty good, nothing that I would come back for though + Bathrooms were clean and smelled great What was kind of 'meh': + Lots of servers but not the best service. Servers didn't seem knowledgeable and as they dropped off our nigiri pieces no one knew which item was which. After asking a couple of people they just took a guess. + they were all out of Asahi :( + Ordered their crunch roll but it didn't match the description. They expressed that they had a new sushi chef + Also tried their picante salmon roll and mehh, nothing to really rave about The one reason I would come back is to try their All You Can Eat Menu but that's probably all

Amazing! I came here after coming from getting my eyebrows done and I'm so glad I did! This place is another extremely festive and adorably decorative restaurant that has some great food! Because I came in during the Halloween season they had decorations already out. The restaurant menu has a variety of Asian cuisine items: sushi, ramen, noodles of all kinds, and I believe it's called yakitori (sp) basically a variety of meats on a stick. I stuck again to some simple sushi choices or my yellowtail add cream cheese, salmon belly which was so luscious and melted in my mouth, and toro toro tuna roll. All the rolls were so good and I wish I would sauce ordered more to go! Now the drinks I tried weee a lemon drop, lychee martini, mai tai, and a mango drink I believe I can't remember the name. All tasted so fresh and hit the spot! Now they are quite expensive but we in the DMV everything is a little bit overpriced...lol The only bad side was the ramen only has pork as their soup base so I couldn't partake in the ramen which was really disappointing. Other than that the waitress was really attentive and the bathrooms were clean! 10/10 would recommend all day!

Not a lot of AYCE in Annandale but this spot is a good choice if you don't want to travel outside of Annandale. The mood lighting is pretty relaxing and the parking was easy. The sushi was fresh and I loved the fact that their shoyu bowl and grilled meats are not the biggest but a good portion. This way, you don't get full with the ramen and you can enjoy more of the other items on the menu. The service was also pretty fast and our sever kept checking on us while allowing us to enjoy our meal as well.

    Katsu Curry, Yuzu highball
    Ang B.

Been here a few times dining in. The Katsu Curry has easily become one of my favorite dishes here. Probably the closest to Japanese curry I've taste out here so far. I recently ordered to go and had their Truffle Udon, out of curiosity.. I don't know what I expected but.. it wasn't it. I think people probably get it out of curiosity, but don't.. get something else, like their Katsu Curry. Try their Yuzu Highball if you're looking for a good mixed drink. One of my favorites.

    Kathy T.

I absolutely love the decoration of this place! It gives off a very cool and chill environment! Definitely a good place to celebrate or even a date night. My friend and I shared the truffle udon pasta and some sushi and sashimi. The sushi and sashimi were pretty standard. Nothing to be "wowed" about but still pretty tasty. Now the star of the show...THE TRUFFLE UDON PASTA!!!! It was buttery and had a good truffle flavor to it. I would HIGHLY recommend this dish! I would definitely come back to try out some other dishes!

The takiyakk was good - standard. And the karaage was very good - tender white meat inside and the spicy mayo was a nice compliment. The ramen was also good - nothing over the top or trying to be anything it isn't. Just good solid ramen. Would recommend. And will return.

The set- up and the ambiance is very comfortable and sleek/modern with the main sushi chefs in the middle and the tables around them. The tables have waiters and a tablet at the table like most hot pot/kbbq places and you can order everything off of there. I have only been here once and wanted to try to low tier without going "all in" on the top tier option of diamond without knowing how the basics would taste. Let me say if the bottom tier was as good as it was, I'm excited to come back to try the next tier! Anyway, the basic tier already comes with a lot of sushi options and should be enough for those who are craving just sushi. All of the cuts of nigiri was great, all tender with great flavor, but what stood out to me the most was actually the yellowtail, super buttery and great flavor. The eel was also a top choice! All the rolls were good basic to the fancier ones, I would say that most of the bang for the buck would be the nigiri. The rolls are good but a little too much rice for me personally. The appetizers, didn't spend too much time on them but the chicken karaage was solid and the seaweed salad was my two favorite. Overall, super solid for the price and I'd totally want to go again to try more of their options! 100% recommend!

We ordered family style and tried a fair bit of the menu. I enjoyed the food enough but wasn't blown away by any of it. It was very expensive with tiny portions, but the flavor and quality wasn't any better than much cheaper restaurants. The croquettes were $18 for just two, but it didn't have as much crab as comparable croquettes I've had for less, and it felt under-seasoned. The standout was the garlic rice, funnily enough, and the eel tamago dish for me. I enjoyed the kakuni and the pork belly in the soba noodles, but it wasn't particularly well-prepared and the serving style was awkward for a group (3 big pieces with no way to cut or portion - they said they had no knives). The other savory dishes were just okay, and really none of them were something I would order again at this price point. The cod in particular disappointed me by being so bland. I did love the ice cream we ordered at the end, although each of us ordered a separate flavor and they confused us a bit by combining them at random in 2 bowls for 5 people. Honestly, I think my views are being colored slightly by the service, which was poor across the board. I would have been more generous with my rating if I felt the service was good or friendly, but to have cold service and high prices and tiny portions and unimpressive flavors made me feel less inclined to return. Still, it wasn't bad food, just mediocre - I wouldn't go back but I wouldn't warn anyone away, if that makes sense. Looking at the other reviews now, it seems we weren't the only ones to receive poor service, so it wasn't just an off night. The prices are one thing, but when you compare the service to an izakaya in Japan it's a pretty stark difference, right?

I always order the crunchy spicy salmon roll, smoked salmon nigiri, salmon nigiri, and tamago nigiri, and they never miss. Everything tastes fresh, flavorful, and well made. I have also brought friends here who are picky sushi eaters, and they all loved it, which says a lot. Definitely a spot I will keep coming back to and recommending. If you are looking for good sushi, great vibes, and a solid happy hour, this is the place.

For food we did salmon nigiri, salmon rose, fried octopus, takoyaki, ube fries, coconut shrimp, and karage chicken. My not complaint is that they had the same sauce for the fried foods. If they had done a sweet and sour sauce for the coconut shrimp and like a soy based for the octopus, that would have been nice. Their sushi was very good though. Service and good and quick but we were the only ones in the restaurant. Their AC was broken though and they only had fans so it was super hot

My husband and I dined in for the first time today, and we were both very impressed with the atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. Hayden was our server, and he showed exemplary hospitality skills. He made us feel welcome, checked in on us frequently without feeling overbearing, and made sure we knew the AYCE menu is double-sided. Speaking of, the AYCE is such a great deal! I used to live in Vegas, where AYCE sushi is very common. Unfortunately, for most of them, since the focus is on quantity, the quality suffers. This is not the case for Toryumon! Maybe it's because it isn't strictly an AYCE place. You can absolutely order items a-la-carte from their regular menu (as I had done previously for take-out). The items are exactly the same whether you order from the regular menu or the AYCE. Same quality, and, this is important, same size! Yes, you will receive a FULL-SIZED bowl of ramen if you order it from the AYCE menu. Not all of the menu items have descriptions, and I was surprised by some of them (not in a bad way, just wasn't what I was expecting), such as: The avocado salad. I was expecting it to be cubes/chunks of avocado tossed with a dressing. What came out was a lettuce salad with sliced avocado on top. The dressing was good, slightly sweet. It was a good salad, just not at all what I was expecting. The sweet potato sushi roll is served warm, the sweet potato is deep fried, and there is eel sauce on top. The sweet potato rolls I had other places were not fried, and served cold. I really enjoyed this one! Everything seemed very fresh, not a hint of wilting greens or brown avocado to be seen! I am so grateful to live right down the road from this amazing establishment. If you enjoy ramen, sushi, and other Japanese items, def give them a try! There are bathrooms available for guests. What my stars mean: 5 is outstanding, memorable, a place to write home about! A must-experience. Someplace I would love to recommend to tourists, and visit myself again and again. 4 is great, somewhere I'd love to return again and again. Back-up recommendation for tourists. 3 is good. A solid option if I am in the area. I may recommend to locals, but would probably leave it off my list of recommendations for tourists. 2 is ok, but only because it a great value, unique, and/or convenient. 1 means I would not return.
