Pike Kitchen is a most excellent addition to Annandale. This past week we had dinner here and will absolutely be back. You first order your meal at either one of the kiosks or with one of the staffers. Service was excellent and one of the staff (the manager?) was most cordial and helpful, including helping me figure out how to use the QR code by the door you need to access their wifi. We started with the fried oysters. These were fresh and perfect. We loved the batter crust on the oysters. Another starter we also really liked was the tteokbokki. This dish is cylindrical rice cakes in a most compelling sweet and spicy sauce. I ordered the bao buns (order contains three). You can pick your filling and I chose teriyaki and bulgogi. These were delicious and they don't stint on the meat. The spam musubi was excellent (an order comes with two). The tonkatsu bento box was also excellent. JP remarked this was the best tonkatsu pork ever. The creamy chicken ramen was pretty decent. The one thing Pike Kitchen could do to improve the ambience is to drop the music down a few notches. We can't wait to try other dishes from Pike Kitchen's massive menu. read more

Pike Kitchen is a newer food haul that joined the Annandale club! They have an extensive menu from different smaller restaurants who share the kitchen. They have items from poke to gimbap, sushi and even korean fried chicken. There are so many items on the menu, so there's bound to be something that you're in the mood for! -Takoyaki; 5 out of 5 - there was an octopus in every bite. Soft and delicious, would def recommend. -Korean Fried Chicken Bites: soy garlic : 4.5 out of 5. I loved it but I do think it was a bit too saucy - it paired perfectly with some white rice. -Salmon Donburi: 4 out of 5 - You do have to eat this a bit fast as the salmon as laid on top of the hot sushi rice and it makes the salmon all warm. The salmon was good and the sushi rice is ok. I probably would not order it again but it was not bad! -Pork Katsu Curry w Rice: 4 out of 5 - this meal was about $16; a pork katsu cutlet with white rice and curry. There's an option to add extra curry for $3. The whole meal definitely could have used more curry as there was a lot of rice - I don't think $3 extra for more curry is worth it but if you're ok with dropping that $3 extra then I would def do it. Pike Kitchen has plenty of indoor seating, and some outdoor bar top seating. They have a self serve water station and a utensils stand. Pike Kitchen also offers a large outdoor area that's great for hanging out with friends. They have some games set up outside and hanging fairy lights so its super cute at night. Definitely a pretty good hangout spot for the summer nights. read more

BLUF: Such a great place to hang out with a group when it's not crowded. Smallish parking lot. When we went in the early afternoon on a Friday there were plenty of parking spots, but if it's super busy, not sure how easy it is to park in the front. Asian fast food is good & the prices are excellent for huge portions & menu. Beverages are yummy. A great value all around. Easy ordering & very nice & helpful staff. Worth the drive? Yes, if you're not headed there during heavy traffic. The venue is clean and has a fun vibe. A good amount of seating inside and out. Looks like there's a "backyard" area, but I didn't investigate. My chicken bites were nice & crunchy on the outside but the chicken was like jerky on the inside. Still, it tasted good but was cold when served. Fries were hot & tasty. Other meals were enjoyed by others. All fans of the lunch specials. Incredible value and perfect for lunch. Filling. So much on the menu sounded appealing. Easy to order from the large touch screen kiosk at the counter, old school menus, large colorful menu on the counter, and you can easily place an order on your smartphone. What a fantastic addition to Annandale! It truly has everything you could ever want: - Large menu: Think boba, dessert, ramen, sushi, kimbap, bibimbap, and for the kiddos ... ALL THE FRIES. I had the dolsot bibimbap and it was fresh, hot, and delicious. My friend's ramen looked legit too. - Late hours: Open till 11 am - Lots of seating: Indoor, outdoor, semi-enclosed, patio. The choices are endless - Easy ordering via a kiosk (perfect for large groups). You can also order ahead online. The best part was a large backyard space with lawn games (giant kerplunk, badminton) and a little playground. I ordered the bibimbap and a side of pickled veggies. I can't remember what my friend ordered, but we both thought their portions were large and their food was great. We both had to take half or more of our food home to-go. Their menu is extensive. I was a bit overwhelmed in a good way, and it took me a minute to decide on what I wanted to order. It made me want to come back to try their other dishes. This place was clean, quiet, and not busy at all when we went. Finally got around to trying this place. The staff was very friendly and the food came out really quick. We ordered a few things including the potato shrimp all of which was delicious especially the shrimp. Portions were very generous. This place reminds me of the variety that The Block had and was just as good if not better than The Block. The outdoor space is AMAZING. I stopped by here on my way home and ordered for to go. I ordered at the Self Serve Kiosk. Ordered Spam Shrimp Musubi, Crispy Eel Onigiri, Budaejjigae, and Lychee Reefresher. The rice for Onigiri is undercooked. I had to heat it up in the microwave to cook it more. The Budaejjigae is ok. The Spam Musubi is the best of all. Overall, the food is ok to me. I came here during their grand opening and tried a few dishes: - seafood udon - spicy pork bibimbap - baos - mont blanc black sesame - iced matcha coffee - iced pistachio coffee - potato shrimp - spam musubi If I were to go back, I'd definitely get the bibimbap, potato shrimp, and spams musubi. The potato shrimp is only good fresh since it's fried, so don't recommend if it's to-go! The spam musubi is HUGE and packed to the core. It can be considered an entree! It was so fulfilling. Their iced matcha & pistachio lattes contained strong coffee, so if you're into the sweeter coffees then consider other options! There are a lot of tables, so there will always be seats available. They also offer water cups if you don't want to buy a drink. Sadly, the seafood udon was on the fishy side, so I probably wouldn't get that again even though I'm a seafood lover. read more

I was visiting my aunt but as I was driving home, I seen this place called Pike Kitchen located on the corner of Columbia Pike and Evergreen Ln. It has a corner lot with limited parking but manageable. It's across from animal hospital and diagonally from Aldi. As you walked in, bar and kiosk in front and to the right is the dining area. Once you place an order either on the kiosk or by cashier, they will called your number or name. The menu is quite large with a variety of dishes from Korean and Japanese. I ordered 7 items: 1) Pork Katsu 2) Spicy Chicken Sandwich 3) Bulgogi Onigiri 4) Chicken Teriyaki Onigiri 5) Salmon Roe Onigiri 6) Musubi Combo 7) Purple Yam Fries. The highlights of this trip are spicy chicken sandwich, salmon roe onigiri, musubi and purple yam fries. They offer interior and exterior seatings as well a very large back yard with picnic tables, games, playground for the kiddies and exterior lights. Finally had the time to check out this place and still need to return! The menu is so huge that it's hard to choose what to get first. It only makes me want to come back again and try something else. We got the masubi and onigiri. The egg and spam masubi was good. The onigiri was okay. The bulgogi soup was delicious but it was a bit too sweet for me. It did filled me up fast. Last the fried dumplings. It was juicy and crispy. My husband really enjoyed it. There's plenty of space and super kid friendly. There's a glass closed patio and the backyard is open with picnic tables. They included a kids play area for anyone with children. Truly a great addition to a neighborhood restaurant. It is like a food hall, where multiple restaurant menus combined in one kitchen. A fantastic menu with something for everyone, really impressed with how well each item was executed, showing that they have mastered their craft. We got the PF Chicken Sandwich, addicting fries, edamame, and vegan bulgogi hot stone bibimbap. Everything came out fresh, hot, tasting incredible! What I love the most about this place is you can order and get a little bit of everything in one order versus having to buy from a bunch of different venders at a food hall. We went later in the night, so it wasn't super busy but the food was really tasty and the portions were huge. I liked that you could customize the bao buns you wanted, so you could get a variety instead of just one kind. I loved the indoor/outdoor ambiance, they have an amazing outside fenced in grassy area with yard games which was such a nice surprise on a nice spring night. I will be going back again! read more

This is a fast food Korean restaurant located in Annandale on Columbia Pike. It used to be a Korean chicken restaurant. Customers order on the kiosk and get notified via text when the food is ready. There are board/drinking games at the patio seating. Food menu has a good variety of noodles, rice, appetizers and beverages. Hubby and I came here on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy but we were excited to try this place out. Theres a lot of food options, from dumplings to fried chicken , and ramen options. We both ordered the bimbimbop . We got bulgogi bimbimpop one with gouchang spicy sauce and the other was a tangy spicy sauce. We got it to go and had a beverage at the bar while waiting. The people that work there are very friendly and although they didn't speak English perfectly, they were happy to answer any questions I had about the menu. I liked ordering on the big screen digital menu because I could choose an option and see the item description and customize it to my liking. In and out in 10-15 minutes. Quality of the tuna was terrible, absolutely no flavor and texture was like rubber, rice had no where near enough seasoning, and the mocha cake was both a bit small and extremely dry and stale. Chicken was edible, but under seasoned, at least it was a large portion for the price. There are plenty of great Asian restaurants in Annandale, this is not one of them. read more

This was my first time coming to Pike Kitchen and I came with my youngest daughter, who was also impressed! The food was so fresh and so delicious! Every part of the resturant was clean, even the restrooms, and was decorated very well. I would not hesitate to come again, and will bring the rest of my family to experience this awesome new resturant! Had been craving it for a while and it hit the spot. Rice cakes were perfect amount of chewy and the sauce was on - and the fries were a good vehicle for dipping in the sauce. We had katsudon, bipmpap, and the spicy Korean rice cakes I'm not gonna try to spell. (my apologies to the Japanese and Korean people for the spelling). We were excited to give this new restaurant in Annandale a try, especially since they had ramen on the menu. Upon entering the establishment, out experience started off a bit on the wrong foot as the employees were not welcoming/didn't really appear that they wanted to be there. There are two ways to order, either at the counter or via a prompter near the door. The menu is extensive and they had a variety of ramens. Unfortunately, the person taking our order at the counter was unable to provide any assistance on questions pertaining to the ramen. We ordered at the counter and then sat down. Shortly thereafter our ramen and our side dish of mandoo arrived. The ramen was definitely spicy, which we liked and had a lot of noodles/ingredients, however, the noodles, which were the primary ingredient, were a bit off/underwhelming. The restaurant service seems to be a cross between a fast food restaurant and your typical sit-down type of place but the price is definitely consistent with a sit-down establishment. The way this restaurant is currently operating, tips should be consistent with ordering from a fast food restaurant. We liked the decor, the parking, the location and during warmer weather it appears that patrons will have the option of eating inside or outside. Definitely a quick fix for the restaurant is to have employees take proactive steps to make guests feel welcome and assist them with ordering their food.
