Lamb gyro (left) and dolma (right)
    Laura B.

Please please please give this place a chance! I knew I was coming back to have more food even before I opened my to-go box. The man working was so kind! He new I was a first time customer and handed me a paper menu and we discussed what kind of food I like. He then proceeded to circle all the menu items he think I'd like in addition to showing off the lamb in the food case. I would love to go back and sit down for food someday, too! You're probably waiting to hear about the food though! Boy was it good. The dolma was perfectly wrapped and tasted so good with the olive oil. The main dish was also Amazing. This rice is so delicious and they give you so much you won't go hungry. The meat was also mouth watering. I can't wait to try more things from this place!

This place was very cute, their food was pretty good for my first time at a Greek restaurant. I had a chicken wrap with all the stuff that a gyro has because they only have lamb gyro. The service was good and the restaurant looked nice.

We were in town for work and didn't think we would ever find halal food in Morgantown. Not only did we find this place but it was so satisfying. The food tasted fresh and homemade and the kitchen was so clean (coming from someone highly sensitive about this issue). Non-greasy, high quality meat. The service was also great and reminded us of back home. I got the chicken shish sandwich and my husband got the ali nazik. Both great. Happy to have such a good halal meat option in an otherwise hard to find area.

Knew we had to come try this place after seeing pictures of the food. Istanbul Restaurant did not disappoint! We ordered the falafel appetizer, the kofte izgara and baklava. All were delicious and beautiful to look at. Wonderful dinner and outstanding service as well! This place is a MUST try

I love this place. The food is very good and the owners are quite helpful and nice. They make great recommendations and remember what I liked from visits over a month ago. Very fresh and made to order. I love the sides and the lamb kabob was awesome.,,don't let the tricky location deter a visit. You will enjoy.

The food was okay. It was good but nothing remarkable. I thought it was high priced for what you got.

The space is tiny and unassuming, and the restaurant seems to be a family run operation. The interior is much more nicely kept than you might guess based on the outside of the building. The staff were very friendly, and all of our food was well packaged. I strongly suggest taking a look at the "Persian Cuisine" section of the menu; in many cases, that section is more interesting than the Turkish grill. In terms of food, things ranged from excellent to pretty good. The hummus was good and nicely textured, but not exceptional. The kashke ve bademjan was excellent, particularly when paired with the nicely toasted flatbread it arrived with. The Mediterranean salad and Tabouli salad were both nicely done, with a nice level of lemon acidity and some shredded cheese on the side. The veggie kebap was fine, but generally flat in flavor: it really needed some of the sides and some hot sauce to fill things out. The red lentil soup was simple with a subtle spicing but ultimately deeply flavorful. The ash reshteh (noodle soup with beans and spinach) was generally good but would have benefited from toppings that would have probably been provided in a dine-in environment. All told, this was a nice little establishment with some excellent Mediterranean and Persian style cuisine. They seem to churn out some high quality food from what seems like a very small kitchen. I could imagine eating in or ordering takeout, but note that the interior space is fairly small with a limited capacity.

It was definitely a lot of food for one person, but I wanted to try a little of everything and I'm glad I did. Everything tasted fresh, hearty, and homemade. One tip: don't get too full on the main dishes. Save room for the Honey Cake for dessert. It's absolutely worth it and something you don't want to miss. The waitress brought a sky tab for payment and brought more ants to the table. I called the waitress over and she apologized and took this to the owner or manager and came back to us with offering free baklava! The person in charge couldn't be bothered to come and address the situation even as we were the only people in the restaurant. I won't ever go back, even though the food was good. After standing up, I noticed VEVO insect lights plugged into every outlet around the dining room. So they know they have issues , Apparently Mediterraneans don't have people skills! Sorry!
