This review pains me as I enjoy food not common to this area. I am a foodie and enjoy trying new things. Don't get me wrong in what I'm about to say, the food was great! The service was good! The pricing was good ! My problem is , I discovered ants in my drink! Kinda takes your taste buds out of the game when your brain says you drank bugs! Brought this to our waitress attention and she gave me another glass of of soda , that I had no intention of drinking. So we pressed on as the food was good. The waitress brought a sky tab for payment and brought more ants to the table. I called the waitress over and she apologized and took this to the owner or manager and came back to us with offering free baklava! The person in charge couldn't be bothered to come and address the situation even as we were the only people in the restaurant. I won't ever go back, even though the food was good. After standing up, I noticed VEVO insect lights plugged into every outlet around the dining room. So they know they have issues , Apparently Mediterraneans don't have people skills! Sorry! Just my experience at a restaurant of a cuisine I tried for the first time today! I wouldn't have given a negative review if this issue was addressed better! A very small and inviting place that seems to be quite busy on a Friday night. We had a reservation and I'm glad we did! The service was great and the people that work there are very friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and I especially loved the appetizer platter with hummus, baba ganoush, falafel, etc. So fresh and delicious. I had the chicken kabob with rice pilaf and an amazing tzatziki sauce. My only complaint was the pita was a little cold and dry. I love a homemade, warm pita, so that was a miss for me, but this place offers some very much needed variety! But once you step inside, you feel it -- you know there is care here. And once the food arrives, there is absolutely no doubt about it: this place is something special. We started with the appetizer platter, and I can say without hesitation that it was one of the best I've ever had. The grape leaves were perfection -- tender, delicate, and layered with flavor. No bitterness, no heaviness, just beautifully seasoned, comforting bites that tasted like they were made with tradition and love. Then came the falafel, which truly shocked me. I've never been a huge fan of falafel because it's usually dry, dense, and in desperate need of drowning in sauce just to get it down. Not here. These were moist, tender, and overflowing with flavor. Honestly -- the best falafel I have ever had. The entire platter was so fresh, so vibrant, and so alive that my entire family kept going back for "just one more bite"... and then one more again. Next up were the pita wraps, and my gyro was an absolute work of art. Overflowing with perfectly seasoned meat and tucked into soft, warm pita, it was generously filled to the brim -- no skimping here. It makes perfect sense why they charge a small sharing fee because one could easily be split between two people. That said, I strongly recommend getting your own... and then taking half home for later (if you have the willpower). My sister ordered the sleek with shrimp, and WOW. I'm typically not a fan of sautéed greens -- it's usually a texture thing for me -- but this completely changed my mind. The shrimp were tender and perfectly cooked, and the greens were flavorful, balanced, and beautifully seasoned. Even as a self-proclaimed non-fan, I was blown away. One of the most memorable parts of the experience was the heart behind the counter. The ladies in the kitchen were clearly cooking with love and pride. You can taste the tradition in every bite. Our server was a bit quiet at first, but she quickly warmed up, became very helpful, and offered a recommendation that turned out to be one of the highlights of the entire meal: the seasonal Pumpkin Mamonia. Now let me explain what mamonia is for those who don't know -- because this dessert deserves its moment. Mamonia is a traditional Middle Eastern dessert, similar to a semolina pudding. It's warm, creamy, gently sweet, and infused with spices and aromatic notes like cinnamon and nutmeg. The pumpkin version at Sittay's takes this already-comforting dish and turns it into a fall masterpiece -- velvety, lightly spiced, and incredibly comforting without being overly sweet. It was, in my book, a home run... or the Mediterranean equivalent of one. Unique, cozy, elegant, and absolutely unforgettable. If it's on the menu, do not skip it. As for the baklava, the flavor was tremendous. For anyone unfamiliar, baklava is made of delicate layers of flaky phyllo dough, filled with chopped nuts (often pistachios or walnuts), then finished with a fragrant honey or sugar syrup. It's crisp on top, sticky-sweet inside, and the perfect finale to a Mediterranean meal. My only small surprise was the portion size; for $7, the piece felt a bit smaller compared to how generous everything else was throughout the lunch. That said, the seasonal baklava was divine in flavor -- rich, fragrant, and beautifully made. At the moment, Sittay's does not offer cocktails or wine. There is a tap house next door, but beer wasn't what appealed to my family that day. A simple white wine -- perhaps a Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc -- would be a lovely addition and a perfect complement to their vibrant Mediterranean dishes, especially for indulgent holiday lunches with family. All in all, Sittay's is a hidden gem in Greensburg -- one of those rare places where the food, the heart, and the hospitality come together effortlessly. Make the trip. Take the time. Sittay's is always a worthwhile spot and I am so glad they're in our area. I am thrilled about the tallow they've been using, it's definitely a welcomed change in my opinion. I have never had anything I've disliked when I've visited and I've been here a few times. Do not sleep on the garlic sauce, ever. The potato mtafia with the sauce... you're welcome. One of my very favorite things is the sleek plate. They're always kind, prompt, you never feel rushed and it honestly kind of feels like you stepped right into their home kitchen to share a meal. This was an unreal food experience! I have traveled extensively all over the US, including Hawaii. Tucked away in the humble town of Greensburg you will find a lovely lady in the kitchen cooking homemade food. The young ladies who were working for her as waitresses where on spot, they didn't miss a beat. I had the spanakopita and humus which was super filling and so tasty. My adult son is coming to visit me next month, and I will certainly bring him to Sittay's. This restaurant is not to be passed by!! They even won an award for best restaurant 2025. For Mediterranean food in Westmoreland County this is the place to go. A great way to sample things is their Appetizer Platter. You get their baba ghanoush, falafel, tabouleh, stuffed grape leaves and my favorite, their hummus served with pitas. The waitress was super nice and the service was quick and efficient. To start off, walking in, we were greeted immediately! The restaurant was delightfully decorated and extremely clean including the restrooms. We were asked if it was our first visit, which we informed our server that is was, and she explained everything on the menu and even suggested few things. We had the appetizer platter, lamb kabob, chicken shawarma and pistachio baklava. Everything down to the flat bread was absolutely delicious. Only suggestion is to warm up the flat bread. Look no further for authentic Syrian cuisine! I was looking to find a place with good food who could handle a large and loud party of 10, and Sittay's answered the call! We chose to eat family style, getting 2 vegetarian and 2 protein platters, with some extra sides. These were great options to taste the whole menu, and was happy to see such vegetarian friendly and GF options as well! Tabouli and meat grape leaves were top favorites. My family raved about the hummus days after-rich & creamy with no grit like other hummus. In house garlic aioli is also a must. As Greeks, we know how good food should taste, and appreciated the authenticity of flavor in every dish-especially the tzatziki. Great atmosphere for any gathering or a quick bite on the go. My brother and his fiancee had never tried this type of food before, so we all went here for dinner one night. I have had this type of food myself quite a few times in different places and although I do like it, it rarely blows me away. The food tends to be pretty standard. That said, Sittay's does cook everything well so you won't be disappointed. We shared an appetizer platter and I got a beef wrap. Brother loved what he ordered. The food is ok but highly disappointing if you have a lot of experience with Mediterranean. The menu is very limited. It was closer to the end of the night and I'm assuming they make It ahead of time and it sat out and they tried throwing it in a microwave for 30 seconds? Not sure. I will not be getting it again. I get the grilled lamb with garlic sauce every time. So fresh and perfectly prepared. Grape leaves and hummus are solid.

Atmosphere is very pleasant although music needs to be turned down. Good crowd. Nice meal choices. Hubby had gyro wrap he says was good. I had beef kebab. AMAZING!! My dad and I stopped in after i found Sittay's on here on Yelp. We had a perfect dining experiences. The dining room was very cute and clean, the service was great (our waitress was so kind and attentive), and the food may have been the best Syrian food I have ever had. It was all authentic. Everything was perfect: The grape leaves were kept moist in lemon oil and served warm. The hummus was impressive and so smooth. The Baba ghanouj had that smokey flavor that really makes baba. My dad had the kibi which was just to his liking. The tabouli was so fresh. Lastly, the spanakopita filling was to die for. Sittay's is a MUST stop if you are in the area... Today, I went to this establishment with my boyfriend, who swears by Mediterranean food. The second we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and were given a table to sit at. The restaurant is quaint but it is still spacious enough to not feel claustrophobic. It is also very clean and the has a modern look to it. The young waitress was very kind and attentive. She immediately brought us our drinks and took our orders. I had the Chicken Shawarma Wrap and it was delicious! Warm, crispy, fresh, with a bit of a tang. My boyfriend got the Chicken Kabob with pilaf rice and tahini sauce. He LOVED it! The rice was made to perfection. It was savory, hardy, and very flavorful! I was so excited to learn this place popped up when I moved back home from out west. We've been here multiple times over the past year and it never disappoints! I know I can always come here and get FRESH, delicious food that doesn't make me feel like my mouth or stomach is heavy. It's also great for variety if you are vegan or carnivore as they have lots of options to accommodate even celiac friendly. Oh my goodness, what a wonderful culinary experience (especially for Greensburg)! I had been planning to visit Sittay's for some time, and finally got an opportunity. As a matter of fact, I had lunch with a friend and went home to collect my wife and daughter and we returned for dinner! Syrian "home cooking" is the style. Ranging from excellent appetizers (including spanikopita which was some of the best we had ever had), pita wraps, salads and main dishes of lamb, shrimp, chicken and beef, including kebabs (some vegetarian and gluten-free choices), the food is tasty and plentiful. Lentil soup was excellent. The owner/ operator is Radah Ghasah, and she and her co-workers do a great job with hospitality and service. Radah's experience with food service, and her great skills in cooking, serve her well in her position of head chef, as she makes lunch and dinner a true treat. Being in the business district of Greensburg, not far from the county courthouse, parking in the area is a bit limited in the day, but not impossible, and readily available and free after 5 pm. This establishment is well worth a try, especially if you love Mediterranean food - or particularly if you have never had the opportunity. You will love it! read more
