The van was newer, clean, tires new, it had about half a tank of gas, and the place was close. Now for the possible improvements for this location and U-Haul. I had to rent through the U- Haul app because there is no employee working that location on a Saturday. The app was fairly easy to use and managed but it puts all of the work on the customer. First, we did have a little issue getting the key out of the lock box because of the way it was placed and the door would not open properly (lucky my wife was with me and she was able to get it out with her small hands). Next, you have to take pictures of the entire vehicle to make sure that there are no issues or damages which took us about an extra 15 minutes to complete and go over the vehicle. One other thing that you need to be aware of is cost. U-Haul tacks on some other fees like the "environmental fee" that basically you pay to help keep their fleet of vehicles more efficient, and a recovery fee for whatever reason. This I believe is so that they can keep their advertised rental cost low. I do believe that U-Haul should actually offer a discount for those people who do this total rental process through the app because the customer is truly doing all the work. Lastly, I cannot comment on the location itself in terms of employees or the store itself because as I mentioned earlier the location was closed and no employees were present.
