I have a couple of complaints the way CubeSmart operates their business. When you complain about it to the management at the facility, they simply tell you that their district manager makes the decisions and they have no control, so I will share with you why I am unhappy. 1) They lure you in with "special offers" which is enticing. But then they will start raising your rent fairly regularly. That seems to be the corporate business model these days. In the 3 years I've been at this facility my indoor storage has practically doubled. 2) The gates system used to secure the outdoor parking is always breaking. I am a union electrician and I park a company truck at the facility. So if the gate system isn't working, I can't go to work, which costs me nearly $800 a day when you include my hourly pay and benefits package. My biggest problem with this situation is when I talk to the management about it, they tell me CubeSmart isn't going to change their junky gate operating system for me. I had to laugh because when these gates break, it inconveniences everyone because of how the entry and exit system works at this facility. Instead of driving through a couple of roll-up doors like most facilities, you also get routed through the outdoor parking area which has those two (2) pesky sliding gate systems that always breaks. I don't appreciate management making it sound as though I am the only person being inconvenienced, the whole traffic pattern causes the excessive use of the junky gate system. If you want a good laugh, think about their reaction to my request of being compensated for my loss time at work. I never mentioned this previous times, but after having this happen several times, what do you expect. I wouldn't have even asked such a thing if I seen that CubeSmart was making an effort to really fixing the issue. Instead they keep fixing the same junk. Here is another funny one for you. I couldn't get my truck out of the parking area, and they told me they don't know when the gates will be fixed. So I may not be going to work tomorrow either! Lol....I am so done with CubeSmart.

They have a vast amount of storage sizes you can choose from, a much better variety than U-haul, and the prices are better too. All of the storage Units are inside and the units have climate control. Great place to store inventory for a business or whatever else you may need! The lady who helped my mother and I out today was so helpful and kind. She talked us through the whole process, what to expect, how long the incentive will last (4 months), etc. If you're in need for a storage place in the area I would definitely recommend Cubesmart! This place is TERRIFIC! Super clean, loads of washers and dryers for your loads, and amenities abound. Prices depended on size of wash- $3.00 for 2x loads, $5 for 4x loads, and $7 for 6x loads. 28 minutes for was cycle on all. $1 for 28 minutes of dry time. Machines take $1 coins, and an ATM and change machine are at front counter. Parking and handy baskets outside, several clean folding tables open and available. My family and I recently relocated to NC, and we needed a total of 2 trucks over two separate trips, and without knowing I made my first mistake by choosing another trucking company for the first truck rental only because I didn't know about Superior Self Storage at this time. Long story short the truck I reserved from a competitor was not available at the location that was agreed upon, nor the time agreed upon. I lost 5 hours of my time that morning on calls with the vendor trying to locate another truck for me, and driving to a much further location for pickup. I then went and read reviews of this said company and it appears this happens more often than not. Do yourself a favor and go with Superior Self Storage to avoid this unpleasant surprise during very stressful time from happening to you. As mentioned above I needed a second truck to rent, and went with James at Superior Self Storage and rented a 15' truck with a car carrier. The truck was ready at the time and location agreed upon, and James helped load my car on the carrier, and made sure I was comfortable loading and unloading, and strapping down before I left. Next morning we started loading the 15' truck only to find out we needed a bigger truck. I'm sure this has happened to many others before me, and now feeling the pressure of time slipping away I made a call to James who was able quickly locate me a larger truck. All I had to do is swap out one truck for the other. After successfully loading the truck and car I was ready for the drive to NC the next morning. About 9 hours into my drive I had the right rear inside tire blow out on the truck. I pulled over and called James who at first wanted to make sure we were all ok, advised that I need not worry about any costs associated with the tire being fixed as this is a covered item, and then advised that I contact the 800 road side assistance number located on the contract, and that they would be able to help. I did and they were able to assist, and had me up and running again in little over an hour. All of this said I would be happy to use, and refer James and Superior Self Storage again should I ever need their services.

Longtime customers will agree that Sue was rare and wonderful - and she earned her well-deserved retirement. Over the past few months, I've tried to overlook how my years of loyalty were suddenly unfamiliar, that I had to provide my name/number, that my preferences needed to be restated, that longstanding operating methods had changed. I overlooked the change in service - but appreciated that I could now use a credit card. But then the cleaning chemicals changed; my clothes suddenly had a foul odor. The care in handling of my garments declined, and it was clear that steps were removed from the former Norgetown way. I wasn't ready to let them tailor my clothes as Sue had until they earned my trust again, alas they won't get that chance. Today, after unpacking my recent cleaning, I discovered that my favorite pair of pants that Sue had cleaned for quite some time had suddenly shrunk in length (and nope, I'm not taller or heavier!); they look absurd now - and they simply can't be replaced. Clearly Sue had used a different method, and now my signature pants are no more. They were expensive, but now I know they were priceless. I'm heartbroken and angry. I had also recently requested an attempt be made to remove a spot on my blazer - they marked it, but missed it; I was ultimately able to remove it myself, so that left me disappointed in their service and attention to detail. Other pants were suddenly filled with static in a way that they never were after cleaning previously, and now they all cling to my leg in an unsightly way. Ugh! And my clothes still reek of this new chemical. Disgusting. With kindness I wish this new staff the best of luck as they find their way and build trust with new customers, but I'm never going back. Two stars - but only for the faded memories of the former seven star service.
