I love a good brewery and this place is a good one! I will admit the first time coming here, I guess there was a private event in one of the rooms (the cooler room) and that forced us into the other room across the way and there were only 2 selections of beer which I thought was weird for a Brewery. I am unsure why if this so I don't want to hinder their reputation because this place was still great, and the beer I did have was still good. I mostly enjoyed the atmosphere and the company I was with. They have some live stock in the front and the whole place is just really cool to enjoy a few beers (and/or some pizza). I will definitely be back and hopefully they'll have more beer options next time and HOPEFULLY I'll get to go in the cool room , a girl can hope.

Love that this place is just a few minutes from my house. Went on a Sunday afternoon when there was live music, but was also very crowded. There was about a 10-15 minute wait to order, the only empty tables were pretty far & then it took about 1 hour to get our Brussel sprouts and another 30 months to get the avocado toast & bayougoula pizza. Positives: Bloody Mary was amazing, venue is great (chickens, sheep, rabbits for the kids to look at, swingset, music, etc), brussel sprouts are amazing. Bayougoula pizza was also good. Cons: ridiculously long time to get food (I know this was a trend because as we were ordering, another woman was asking about her order since it has been an hour and she hasn't gotten her food), avocado toast is basically avocado & lettuce on a thin crust cheese pizza (not a fan). I'll definitely go back on a less busy day to try again though.

This is a really neat place! The atmosphere is fun with the farm feel. The beer is tasty, especially the honey IPA. They do offer a lot of unique beers which I want to try in the future. The food was good as well. The menu includes pizza, tacos and chips/queso/salsa. We tried a few of the tacos and the one with fried chicken was the best (I don't remember the name of it). The outdoor area is a fun place to hang out with friends on a cool night. They have corn hole, ping pong, giant chess, and probably other things I missed. Overall, Istrouma Brewing is a great place to hang out! Awesome addition to the BR area. We will be back often

Good food and beer. Bathrooms were so bad it wasn't funny. The smell was awful. Hard to believe.

This place was so cute and inviting! We stumbled across this place and so glad we did. The owner (I believe) was very nice and explained to us how everything worked. It's a brewery on a farm that serves delicious pizza and baked goodies! We ordered several different pizzas, most of them having unique toppings and they were SOOO good. The atmosphere is nice, they have farm animals and a place for kids to run around and play. And let's not forget the beer- beers were tasty also!

Went on a quieter Wednesday afternoon with a group and had a great time. Bar was short staffed but I don't think that affected anything. Pizza was phenomenal. The bayougoula was our fave but we tried three or four and they were all delicious. Homemade hummus veggies were a little disappointing but the hummus itself was good. We weren't big beer people (went with people who are) but the bartender's gin and tonics went down real smooth! Definitely want to go back on the weekend and enjoy the outdoor things. Only weird thing to me was the bathroom situation. I'm hoping that's just temporary but they were just the upgraded porta potty trailers instead of actual bathrooms.

Cool, rustic place with great service and outdoor seating. Their best pizza in my opinion is the boucherie. It comes with pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon, red sauce, and mozzarella cheese. It's delicious! Good beer selection and great desserts. They even have dippin' dots! The only thing I'm not a fan of is their portable restroom trailer.

Sunday funday ! The beer was great. I tried the IPA and it was awesome and my husband tried a stout and he loved it. Then we ordered chips and queso, delicious! Then I had a "Farmerita" pizza, outstanding! My husband decided for "Pepperoni and sausage" and he ate it all! The ingredients are fresh and the flavor is amazing. The place is very family friendly and kids can play around. We will be back soon!

The atmosphere is adorable. First, ordered a couple of tacos. The menu doesn't include prices so that is a big disappointment. They seemed reasonably priced...when she rang me up...but I like to know how much I'm spending. Ordered a boudin and a buffalo chicken taco. The boudin was kind of cold and not that flavorful. The buffalo chicken was really good. While I was waiting for my food, I headed over to the tap room to get a couple of cans of beer to go and a cherry soda with my tacos. There were children running around the tap room like it was a playground. I'm not sure why they were even allowed in that area. Looked like all the staff were wearing masks.

Beautiful sunset and a delicious 'Big green tractor'

Whoever put these two items together is a genius! The chewy, meaty, crunchiness of the cracklins along with the gooey, saltiness of the cheese curds is the perfect combo. It's like Peanut butter and Jelly! Peas and Carrots! Beavis and Butthead! Ok I may have went too far but they are great. The beer is good too. Agile usually has 15 or so different beers or seltzers on tap. What I like about Agile is they don't just have 12 different IPA's (although I am a huge IPA guy) a stout and a blonde. They have all kinds of styles which is a good change of pace. Upon my last visit I had a Stout, An American Wheat, an IPA and a Krystalweisse (German light beer) in my flight. All were really good but the Krystalweisse was surprisingly good in that it was both flavorful and still light. Another plus for Agile is they are in an industrial park that includes 2 distilleries and another brewery. So, get you some curds and cracklins then get shmangled. Just call an Uber.

I was indoors for Bingo but their outdoor space looked nice with picnic tables and string lights lit up at night.

Beer Garden Review 2…read more Hospitality isn't complicated. It's making people feel like guests instead of table numbers. And Mid City Beer Garden didn't skip that part. In fact, the way we were treated says more about the character of this place than the food ever could. I use a cane, so I now have three legs--well, four if you count my beautiful husband! After our HVAC decided to abandon us in the middle of this heat wave, we figured the best way to beat the temperature was to escape to Mid City Beer Garden in Baton Rouge for some cold drinks, good food, and hopefully a little relief. When we walked in, we were warmly greeted. I immediately noticed the high seating and explained my situation, asking if a booth was available. The beautiful young lady greeter checked and told us it would be about a 15-minute wait. After just escaping our sweltering house, we weren't sure we wanted to wait that long. Then the handsome young gentleman greeter said, "Let me make sure." About five minutes later, he came back with the best news: "We have a booth for you!" That small gesture meant a lot. They didn't simply tell us to wait--they took the time to find a comfortable seating option for me. We immediately felt welcomed and appreciated. We visited in the evening, and the atmosphere was exactly what we needed. The evening vibe was spot-on--industrial meets modern, softened by greenery, warm lighting, string lights, and neon. Think laid-back European beer garden, but effortlessly cool. At night, the place really came alive without losing that cozy, inviting feel. Beer lovers, don't skip the main bar. The custom tap wall is a total vibe, with a solid lineup of beers and plenty of personality. Our waitress continued that same level of hospitality. She was attentive, friendly, and provided that kind of service where the smile feels genuine rather than part of the uniform. But then came the moment that really impressed me. I ordered a 10 oz. Sapporo, but somehow received a 16 oz. I didn't even notice the difference. When we were getting ready to pay, our waitress came over and told us about the blunder-- noting we would only be charged for the 10 oz. Now THAT is honesty. We've been to establishments where billing mistakes seem to mysteriously work in the restaurant's favor. So having someone actually point out an error that benefited us--and make sure we weren't overcharged--was refreshing. Speaking of the food... We ordered the shrimp po'boy. It certainly looked loaded with shrimp, but was skimpy and unfortunately, it fell short for us. The shrimp was flavorful, but overcooked. The bread was thick and dense, so I eventually found myself eating only the shrimp and leaving the rest of the sandwich behind. The fries were tasty, but they didn't have that hot, fresh-out-of-the-oil crispiness we were hoping for, so we only ate a few. Would I order the shrimp po'boy again? Probably not. I'm only speaking for the two people at our table--and we're not professional food critics, just two hungry people with opinions! Now, the real highlight of our visit... We met the most beautiful soul. My husband suddenly says, "Look, there's a really tall young man sitting behind you." I turned around, stood up, and said, "My husband said you're really tall. Can I take a picture with you?" He was so sweet and gracious and took a picture with me. And let me tell you--that absolutely made my night! I told him he was beautiful, and he responded, "You are beautiful too!" I disagreed with him, of course. He looked at me and said, "No, ma'am. You are beautiful." Well... alright then! You win. Naturally, I had questions. I asked if he played basketball. "Yes, for Southern University." I asked his jersey number. "Number 22." I told him, "Well, I'm coming to see you play!" And that young man gave me one of the biggest, brightest smiles I've ever seen on a basketball player. So, y'all... if you get out to Southern University and A&M College this season, go show #22 some love and cheer him on. Who knows? We might be looking at a future NBA champion! We had a wonderful evening at Mid City Beer Garden. Eventually, we went back home to a house that had finally cooled down and enjoyed the rest of our evening loving on each other. Thank you, Mid City Beer Garden, for giving us a place to escape the heat, relax, laugh, eat, drink, and make a memory. And most of all... Thank you, Number 22, for honoring an old lady's wishes. Some nights are about the food. Some nights are about the atmosphere. And some nights, you just happen to meet a beautiful souls who makes the whole evening unforgettable.
