    Cheese Curds
    John L. H.

This might be my favorite casual meal in Baton Rouge for 2025. Since George's closed I havent found a reason to be in this area. It was too painful for me to not be driving here to get jalapeno cheese fries, a burger, and putting a dollar on the wall. But damn, this place has cured me of that sadness. I am disgusted that I had not been here sooner. We arrived during the lunch rush but were able to sit at a high top in the bar. The place is small so you may have to wait. It will be worth it. We started with some cheese curds. I cannot accurately convey how amazing these were. I have no idea what kind of cheese it was, what they did to make it so great, or how ranch added an additional wow. Trust me, get these. They are awesome. The burger, oh the burger. This is likely the best burger I have ever had in BR. If you are a burger fan, you must ad this one to your list. I haven't had every burger in BR but I have had a few. This one is the tops. Great patty, cooked perfectly to order, juicy, and super flavorful. Service was friendly but slightly slow which was likey due to the lunch rush. Parking is under the overpass and a little muddy at times. You will be fine. Come here. You won't be disappointed.

This is definitely a first time experience. First the parking is actually under the overpass, but the scene is very vibrant. Excellent service with a smile, and it got busy quickly as it was game day for LSU, great bar which I believe that's why most were there, but in a good way. The truffle fries as a starter came with two dips, garlic aioli, and ketchup, they were crisp and the shredded Parmesan enhanced the taste. The shrimp tacos were very nice, good portion and shrimp was plump and delicious, but the star was the pork belly buns, great flavor with char the bun was sweet and matched the savory perfectly. Loved the vibrant atmosphere, and will be back for the Sunday brunch.

We visited the Overpass Merchant to plan a party over lunch. We sat on the patio because it was an absolutely beautiful day. Our server was very polite, however not very attentive and we almost had to seek her out a couple of times. The cheese curds were amazing as always. Unfortunately, I did not care at all for the shrimp tacos. I was a bit disappointed because this is not the experience I have grown to expect.

Went for Sunday brunch as it was one of the only places open at 9am. Super cute inside, and our waitress was nice but not great. Food was good, biscuit was bleh, and parking was interesting. Ordered: Sunrise fries: so much flavor and really loved. The sausage gravy is amazing The honey chicken cheddar biscuit: the biscuit had absolutely no flavor. It was fine cause we paid extra for the sausage gravy and just smothered it with that. But if you didn't, you may be disappointed Parking Really considered giving it a 3/5 for this, but this could be new user error. We parked under the overpass, and it had rained the day before. It's gravel, so there were a ton of potholes and pools of water. I was very scared driving out of it in my car. Just be warned if you have a small car, parking may not be amazing

Great brunch spot. It's locates literally under an overpass. Lol. Their specialties are these huge sandwiches on biscuits. I loved the spicy pineapple margarita..it was a little sweet and had a kick. The shrimp and grits had nice flavor. I like my grits a little creamier but that's just me. My chicken sandwich was huge! I will admit that I thought the biscuit was a tad bit dry. Overall a good experience with a variety if interesting menu items.

The food and drinks were good. Service was well and server was very patient with us. The only tiny issue I had was that it's a very small restaurant. Not enough room for private conversations and everyone is kind of elbow to elbow. Other than that, I will be visiting again. Good was extremely delicious.

All really good. Apparently Mondays is trivia ight which is fun! Always sub fries for those lovely truffle fries. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the margs are great. If you're a ranch girl like myself, their homemade ranch is fire

Always love coming to the overpass for good drinks and the cheese curds! Wasn't super impressed with brunch today, the biscuit was a little dry and the chicken wasn't up to par as it usually is

The food was really good and came out super fast! We got the brussel sprouts, burger, and kale Caesar salad. We loved the ambiance of the place.

Cute little restaurant with a charming atmosphere. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, adding to the pleasant experience. It was quite loud inside, which made conversation a bit difficult. The food came out in a reasonable time. The fried green beans weren't to my taste, but I can see how it can be a fan favorite for others. The burger was delicious and perfectly cooked. However, the French fries were overcooked for my liking. Overall, a decent spot for a meal with good service.

I was able to come back again for brunch and it was absolutely delicious. No brunch would be complete without their orange juice.

    Is this restaurant Vegan friendly?

There are several items where you can just skip the cheese or aioli dip for vegan friendly (salads, truffle fries, broccoli and cauliflower). I've had the fries and broccoli/cauliflower, very DELICIOUS!

Spinach and artichoke dip, house made chips and pickles, turkey and fig sandwich and lastly, the Chicken Mamou. Everything was so good. Now, on to the customer service. Even if the food was bad, I think I'd go back just for Cassie's immaculate customer service. She was very welcoming and knew the menu very well. I love a waitress who's able to recommend items from the menu and she didn't give one bad suggestion. I love her personality just as much as I loved the food. The redfish was flaky, fresh, and beautifully seasoned with a proper blackened crust. It was absolutely drenched in a rich lemon butter sauce that tied everything together perfectly. The corn maque choux was creamy, flavorful, and comforting without overpowering the fish. Even the salad tasted fresh and balanced the richness of the entrée well. The restaurant was PACKED when I arrived around noon on a Tuesday, which I later learned was likely because they were serving birria tacos that day. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of crowded restaurants, but honestly, the amount of traffic speaks for itself. People clearly come here because the food is worth it. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, and the restaurant itself was clean... floors, tables, everything looked well maintained despite how busy it was. Service was excellent. My server was attentive without hovering, efficient without making me feel rushed, and my food came out surprisingly fast considering how busy the restaurant was. Drinks were handled well too ...bottled sodas available, and free refills on tea and lemonade. Next time, I'd probably come a little earlier in the day to avoid the lunch rush, but I would absolutely order this meal again.

I'm aging out of late night shows, so I took a pass on seeing Kings of Leon, Raye, Stephen Marley, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Blind Boys of Alabama, and Cowboy Mouth. Instead, I headed toward Frenchmen Street, and the Three Muses. The musicians from Bad Penny Pleasuremakers were setting up as I arrived around 6 p.m. By the time my drinks arrived the band was in full swing mode. Mills at the bar took my order - beef bulgogi ($16), a bottle of PBR ($5), and a Maker's Mark neat ($10) did the job. I paid at the bar and took the number letting the server know where to deliver the meal. The band kicked in, and I was transported to heaven. This is a small, open space where the band can dominate without being intrusive. I took my time with my meal, soaking up the generous vibe the band was sharing with the 20 or 30 of us in the hall. I should note a local resource that might get unsung: 99.7 wwoz tracks the music of New Orleans year round, and does a great job alerting us to venues and performances at places like Three Muses.
