This was a last minute birthday lunch celebration. First time visiting IT Italy ! It was very good. Since it was early & a weekday there was no one sitting inside except us. They also have an outdoor shaded area. We ordered everything off the happy hour menu which starts at 11:30a if I'm not mistaken. Although we just wanted a small bite they want to consider doing a lunch menu. For example like a soup & salad, soup & pasta. Then the full menu can be for the evening. Stopped by IT Italy for happy hour to celebrate a friend's birthday and it ended up being such a cute little spot on Las Olas. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed with a great vibe and a playlist that made the whole experience feel elevated yet relaxed. We tried pretty much everything on the happy hour menu, grilled octopus, tuna tartare, burrata & arugula salad, and the crab cake. The absolute stars of the show were the tuna tartare and the burrata salad. Both were super fresh, flavorful, and the kind of dishes you immediately want another order of. The octopus and crab cake were good too, but those first two definitely stole the spotlight. The drinks were pretty basic and nothing really memorable, but the friendly and attentive staff made up for it. We were the only ones sitting inside at the time, so service was extra attentive which we appreciated. Overall, such a charming spot for happy hour bites and catching up with friends. Two words. Dark and sexy. That is exactly how I would describe this place, dark and sexy. Once you first walk in, there's candles and dim lights - everyone is dressed in black, there are mirrors all over but it absolutely works and is beautiful! We were greeted almost immediately. I do appreciate this as there was no one manning the hostess station nor was there a "please wait to be seated" sign. She also let us pick out where we wanted to sit which was nice. Once our waiter arrived he didn't introduce himself or really go over the menu but we usually do our research before visiting a restaurant so it wasn't that big of deal. I could imagine to someone that is completely lost this would probably be frustrating having to ask. Now let's really get to the meat and potatoes, I ordered a Havana Hookah which was amazing and lasted the duration of stay without being harsh or dying out! For drinks I got my normal Sidecar which actually falls into my top 5 best ever tasted and my friend got a Passion Fruit Margarita, really tasty. For apps, we shared an order of calamari which we both agreed was just okay, and needed more flavor. The star of the show was the main dish for both of us. The fettuccini carbonara was delicious, shrimp was added as well really but something about the smoked pancetta really brought out the flavors! My friend got a normal shrimp pasta but I didn't enjoy that plate as much, I think the acid was too potent. Overall, I would come back maybe on a weekend and on a full stomach. The drinks were amazing and so was the ambiance but this is somewhere you go when you want a quick bite, shisha, and a drink. read more

An Italian restaurant in Fort Lauderdale with a South Beach vibe with another confusing name "IT ITALY." There were two impressive nutcracker statues guarding both sides of the entrance with green and red garland decorations hovering above. Happy Hour Monday - Friday 11am - 6pm? How is this my first visit? The bartender was lacking charisma at first, but she warmed up quickly and had cocktails with interesting discussions. The brightly lit bar is definitely the focal point of the restaurant perfectly situated upon entry. An obvious traditional Italian red and black color scheme on the extensive covered outside patio. The bathroom doors were gender designated by black & white murals of Sophia Loren and Don Vito Corleone was an interesting detail (see pics). The men's bathroom was spotless, almost providing a shiney glow from the lighting. The black on black contemporary decor was breathtaking with floor to ceiling large pitted tiles. Wow! This team is the best! We decided to celebrate our Christmas dinner here. We had a large party so I knew this might be tricky. The team gave us a little button that we could press anytime we needed assistance. Super helpful! We started with apps. The meatballs were amazing! The bruschetta was fresh. I decided to order the special which was described as linguine pasta and a steak. However, when it came out, it was basically pasta mixed with bites of steak. That wasn't what I wanted nor did it taste as good as it sounded. I quickly pivoted to the Italian which was a ribeye meal with potatoes and a side salad. Nice Italian restaurant on Las Olas with a classy bar. Came here with my hubby to try the cocktails. The bartender was not busy and a little cold at first but we woke her up quickly and our visit was perfect. The Happy Hour menu had good offerings at low prices. The bartender made an excellent Aperol Spritz which is strangely not mixed well at a lot of bars. The outside patio is beautiful large enough to accommodate large groups. I've been here a few times. The restaurant is very cute with a nice ambiance inside. Kind of like indoor/outdoor. But whenever I go, it's totally empty. They do offer happy hour drinks and food every day, but the hookah is VERY expensive. $75. They should offer half price hookah for happy hour, I'm sure it would beef up traffic. I was staying at the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas Blvd for a few days before getting on the Crystal Serenity for a 20-day cruise around the Caribbean. I was walking around the river and up and down Las Olas Blvd and ran into this restaurant on Las Olas. It was early (11:30am) so the place was deserted. I started with two Monkey 47 gin & tonics ($19ea) while I perused their menu. My server, Sofia, informed me about a fresh lobster special ... sold! I didn't ask how much, perhaps I should have as it was $65. I ordered a split of Moet champagne ($36) as the lobster was a luxurious dish. Wow, the lobster head and tail were placed on the plate with the creamy fettuccine and lobster meat was placed in the middle. A visual and olfactory treat! The champagne was a perfect complement to the dish. I finished my meal with a double espresso ($8). Everything was delicious! I really enjoyed my meal at IT! Italy. The meal was expensive, resulting in a 4-star rating. Still, I can recommend it! read more

I'll start with the positives: My waitress was a total sweetheart! The drinks are very delicious especially the butterfly haze and the cucumber gin drink. The tres leches cake was also phenomenal skip the ice cream that comes with it cause it tastes like skim milk. As for the food ? Worst Italian food ever. I kid you not the vodka pasta tastes like a weight watchers tv dinner. Watery with no flavor. If it wasn't for the drinks and dessert I'd say this restaurant was created to be a downtown money grab. Went yesterday as a walk in. Medium busy probably every other table was full and a majority of people on the bar for fifa. Me and my friend wait for probably 10 minutes before anybody that works there comes up to us. The guy who sat us asked if anyone came and we say no. He finally finds us a server probably 15 minutes to sitting down. I already know what I want from the menu so my buddy and I ask for a drink and for the food order and we were told only the drink orders even though we were sitting and Hungary. Another 5 minutes pass he comes back to ask food order and it's finally placed. Food comes out pretty quick and it was tasty. We ended up throwing in another dish it was tasty. But this all took probably a hour and a half so we were out of water and drinks. Our waiter never came back since the second order of food ( all we got was two flat breads a beer and a redbull). So we then sit and sit trying to click the button that apparently staff is supposed to check. We want the check and a box and that takes a whole hour just to get the attention of staff and a box and leave. I was just going to reflect the service in the tip. He only came to us 3 times and we sat for 2 1/2 hours. I was going to tip maybe 5% probably 10%. Then service fee was already included on our table of two and it was a 15% tip after tax basically 20% of our total. I was so annoyed. Foods good ambiance is good but they need to either fix staff problem or get rid of service fee for very subpar service. read more

The food was good and not great. The price was high and not responsible and an auto gratuity always turns me off. Make it memorable and people will tip. You need to make your people earn it and not take it for granted. They add an auto 15% tip and the machine still asks for a tip at the end. Double tip I think not! The music is like club music and it makes sense because it seems to turn into a late night bar after dinner. The service was great. They seemed to have a need to turn tables around quickly because everything was fast. They seated us very fast, brought our drinks and food fast as well. The place is pricey so be prepared to spend money at least $200 for everything, however they get 4 stars because for an Italian restaurant they were not able to make bolognese which my husband I thought was interesting. Me and the hubby had Xmas dinner here. First thing, they have a service button to call your server. That was kinda neat. It worked too, our server came right over with steak knives! All our food was brought out in record time and was really good. Octopus, husband said it was great. We shared the crab cake, what ever sauce they put it on,, wow. I ordered their lobster pasta special, the pasta was bland and had no salt and the lobster as well. The flavor profile was definitely not there. My boyfriend and friend had the chicken parmigiana and the chicken was over done and again, no flavor but the burnt coating. Our other friends had a salmon bowl and another chicken dish. Has a lot of greenery in the place and mirrors which make it feel bigger. They have a large outdoor area as well and even the indoors feel like you are outdoors due to the large windows. The palm room has amazing cocktails & very reasonably priced! We waited about 10 to 15 minutes before someone came to wait on us. We actually almost left. I asked the server to make me just say skinny spicy Marg w no agave. After two failed attempts the margarita was still very sweet and not spicy at all. Nice Italian restaurant clearly visible on Las Olas strip. Cute date night vibes at night. If you want to hear your company I would recommend outside seating. Otherwise, inside seating has nice dim lighting with dine-in seats and a bar area - the caveat is that the music is pretty loud. The outside patio seats have a "service" button easily accessible in case you need to reach your server. Emilia was a gracious server to us. We shared an app of fried calamari and a chicken parm entree. Both plates were very shareable and the chicken portion was rather larger than expected that also made it ideal for sharing.
