Havana Hookah
Dee D.

Two words. Dark and sexy. That is exactly how I would describe this place, dark and sexy. Once you first walk in, there's candles and dim lights - everyone is dressed in black, there are mirrors all over but it absolutely works and is beautiful! We were greeted almost immediately. I do appreciate this as there was no one manning the hostess station nor was there a "please wait to be seated" sign. She also let us pick out where we wanted to sit which was nice. Once our waiter arrived he didn't introduce himself or really go over the menu but we usually do our research before visiting a restaurant so it wasn't that big of deal. I could imagine to someone that is completely lost this would probably be frustrating having to ask. Now let's really get to the meat and potatoes, I ordered a Havana Hookah which was amazing and lasted the duration of stay without being harsh or dying out! For drinks I got my normal Sidecar which actually falls into my top 5 best ever tasted and my friend got a Passion Fruit Margarita, really tasty. For apps, we shared an order of calamari which we both agreed was just okay, and needed more flavor. The star of the show was the main dish for both of us. The fettuccini carbonara was delicious, shrimp was added as well really but something about the smoked pancetta really brought out the flavors! My friend got a normal shrimp pasta but I didn't enjoy that plate as much, I think the acid was too potent. Overall, I would come back maybe on a weekend and on a full stomach. The drinks were amazing and so was the ambiance but this is somewhere you go when you want a quick bite, shisha, and a drink.

Stopped by for some drinks and hookah. Inside is such a vibe, from the bar, to the decor, to the bathrooms. Alex took care of us at the bar. He was knowledgeable and knows his stuff. Drinks and hookah 10/10. The hookah was smooth, it didn't burn fast and finally the flavors tasted like what was promoted!

REFRESHING COCKTAIL

An Italian restaurant in Fort Lauderdale with a South Beach vibe with another confusing name "IT ITALY." There were two impressive nutcracker statues guarding both sides of the entrance with green and red garland decorations hovering above. Happy Hour Monday - Friday 11am - 6pm? How is this my first visit? The bartender was lacking charisma at first, but she warmed up quickly and had cocktails with interesting discussions. The brightly lit bar is definitely the focal point of the restaurant perfectly situated upon entry. An obvious traditional Italian red and black color scheme on the extensive covered outside patio. The bathroom doors were gender designated by black & white murals of Sophia Loren and Don Vito Corleone was an interesting detail (see pics). The men's bathroom was spotless, almost providing a shiney glow from the lighting. The black on black contemporary decor was breathtaking with floor to ceiling large pitted tiles. The back of the door had a mural of Gregory Peck which continued the retro movie theme. Another unique restaurant on the Las Olas strip with lots of conversational detail.

Pasta special with steak

Wow! This team is the best! We decided to celebrate our Christmas dinner here. We had a large party so I knew this might be tricky. The team gave us a little button that we could press anytime we needed assistance. Super helpful! We started with apps. The meatballs were amazing! The bruschetta was fresh. I decided to order the special which was described as linguine pasta and a steak. However, when it came out, it was basically pasta mixed with bites of steak. That wasn't what I wanted nor did it taste as good as it sounded. I quickly pivoted to the Italian which was a ribeye meal with potatoes and a side salad. The team put my order in and it came out quickly. Appreciative for sure! The ribeye was juicy. Not too fatty, it also had sautéd mushrooms on top!

I came here for a hoohak and left with an experience. Good hookah and food. The music and decor was really nice they had Versace on the tables to the bathroom. Service was great food came out at a decent time and was delicious I liked their churrasco specials it was filling. Overall a nice vibe.

Nice Italian restaurant on Las Olas with a classy bar. Came here with my hubby to try the cocktails. The bartender was not busy and a little cold at first but we woke her up quickly and our visit was perfect. The Happy Hour menu had good offerings at low prices. The bartender made an excellent Aperol Spritz which is strangely not mixed well at a lot of bars. The outside patio is beautiful large enough to accommodate large groups. No manager in sight but the bartender made our experience fun.

I've been here a few times. The restaurant is very cute with a nice ambiance inside. Kind of like indoor/outdoor. But whenever I go, it's totally empty. They do offer happy hour drinks and food every day, but the hookah is VERY expensive. $75. They should offer half price hookah for happy hour, I'm sure it would beef up traffic. We had crab cake, octopus, and tuna tartar. Octopus was a little fishy but everything else was ok. The bartender was nice.

A split of Champagne

I was staying at the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas Blvd for a few days before getting on the Crystal Serenity for a 20-day cruise around the Caribbean. I was walking around the river and up and down Las Olas Blvd and ran into this restaurant on Las Olas. It was early (11:30am) so the place was deserted. I started with two Monkey 47 gin & tonics ($19ea) while I perused their menu. My server, Sofia, informed me about a fresh lobster special ... sold! I didn't ask how much, perhaps I should have as it was $65. I ordered a split of Moet champagne ($36) as the lobster was a luxurious dish. Wow, the lobster head and tail were placed on the plate with the creamy fettuccine and lobster meat was placed in the middle. A visual and olfactory treat! The champagne was a perfect complement to the dish. I finished my meal with a double espresso ($8). Everything was delicious! I really enjoyed my meal at IT! Italy. The meal was expensive, resulting in a 4-star rating. Still, I can recommend it!

Pepperoni pizza

Could improve on food and services. Pizza was mid and not worth 20 dollars as well as Parmesan truffle fries. Service was not too good either.

Burrata meatballs Spaghetti Meatballs
Ebru E.

We chose meatball spaghetti, meatballs, burrata pizza, and pappardelle. Everything was absolutely delicious. The portions were generous and very filling. The ambiance of the place was also beautiful. Thank you to the friendly and helpful staff

I'll start with the positives: My waitress was a total sweetheart! The drinks are very delicious especially the butterfly haze and the cucumber gin drink. The tres leches cake was also phenomenal skip the ice cream that comes with it cause it tastes like skim milk. As for the food ? Worst Italian food ever. I kid you not the vodka pasta tastes like a weight watchers tv dinner. Watery with no flavor. If it wasn't for the drinks and dessert I'd say this restaurant was created to be a downtown money grab. If you're looking to hangout it's cool, stay clear if you're hungry!

As I walked up to the door I started having second thoughts. The dining room was set up for fine dining, but there was one other table. The host greeted us warmly and we were seated promptly. Sergio removed the extra place settings, a sign of a good restaurant. He offered us either still or sparkling water as we received our menus. The price points were very affordable. You could easily find these meals for twice the price elsewhere. We started with the mini meatballs. Scrumptious! You must try them. The bread, oil and herbs presentation was impressive and tasted great. I ordered the Penne Bolognese and my guest ordered the crab ravioli. The Bolognese tasted like it took all day to cook. So good, and piping hot. The pasta was perfectly al dente. Sergio brought us a complimentary vegetable soup to sample, and the we were offered dessert. I chose the Lemon cake, and my guest tried the cheesecake. Both exceptional. Then were given a complimentary amaretto shot after dessert. Sergio was the best server I could remember I. A long time. This restaurant should be full every night, folks. I hope that you'll check it out!

While visiting the Fort Lauderdale area to see my girlfriend, she insisted on taking me to her…read morefavorite Italian restaurant. She's lived here her entire life and is very particular about where she eats. She says a lot of her longtime favorite restaurants have really gone downhill over the years, so I was excited to try one that has remained consistently good. The restaurant is located in a shopping plaza, which is pretty common in South Florida. Once you walk inside, though, you forget you're in a plaza. It's beautifully decorated with a warm European feel that makes it inviting and cozy. It's a good-sized restaurant, and my girlfriend mentioned it's usually packed. Since it's currently the slower season, it wasn't as busy, which is a little sad to see, but hopefully business picks back up when the snowbirds return. We were seated right away, and our waiter was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. The menu had an incredible selection of authentic Italian dishes, along with several specials listed on the board that all sounded amazing. We decided to share the meatballs and the Bolognese, and that ended up being the perfect choice. I also ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio. At $15 a glass, I definitely cringed a little because I always think about how the whole bottle probably costs around $20, and one glass is never enough! They also brought out fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Let's just say I ate far more bread than I planned because there was absolutely no way I was letting any of that incredible meat sauce from the Bolognese--or the rich sauce from the meatballs--go to waste. The food was absolutely spectacular. I honestly can't say enough about how delicious everything was. Every bite tasted homemade and full of flavor. For dessert, I skipped the sweets and ordered an espresso martini instead. They did a fantastic job. The last upscale restaurant I visited in West Palm Beach served one of the worst espresso martinis I've ever had, proving that just because a restaurant is expensive or considered "high-end" doesn't automatically mean the quality is there. This restaurant absolutely delivered on both the food and the cocktails. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience. This is definitely a restaurant I'll be coming back to whenever I'm in the Fort Lauderdale area, and I can certainly see why it's one of my girlfriend's favorites.

I had enjoyed this restaurant in the past and had recommended it to others, which makes this review…read moreparticularly disappointing to write. During my most recent visit, I ordered the lamb lasagna special at my server's recommendation. The dish simply wasn't to my taste, so I chose not to eat it. I never complained, never asked to speak with a manager, never requested that the item be removed from my bill, and never asked for any compensation. I fully intended to pay for my meal and continue enjoying the evening. The situation only became an issue because the staff repeatedly asked why I hadn't eaten the dish. I answered honestly and respectfully each time. When asked whether I wanted the meal boxed to take home, I clearly said no. Despite that, the dish was boxed and brought back to my table anyway. What should have been a simple matter of personal preference became an uncomfortable experience. Ignoring a guest's clearly expressed wishes made me feel dismissed and embarrassed in front of the friend who was dining with me. The problem was never the fact that I didn't enjoy one menu item--it was how the situation was handled afterward. After my visit, I sent a respectful letter to the manager and both owners explaining exactly what happened. I wasn't seeking compensation--only the courtesy of a response and the hope that the experience could serve as constructive feedback. More than a month has passed, and I have received no acknowledgment whatsoever. Restaurants occasionally miss the mark on a dish. What distinguishes great hospitality is how guests are treated when that happens. Unfortunately, the handling of this situation, followed by complete silence after my letter, has left me unable to recommend this restaurant or return myself.

This is not your typical Chicago Italian style restaurant. The menu is varied and I was able to find something to order. I am very picky about the Italian food I eat. The Angelo salad was delicious. For my entree, the fettuccine bolognese was just not to my taste. My husband had the Caesar salad which he enjoyed. The sauce on the ravioli was different and, again, not to my taste. There was some confusion on the dessert we ordered, but the correction was quickly made. The restaurant is large but the parking lot is a nightmare. Fortunately we were in an Uber but while waiting to be picked up after we had eaten ~ crazy busy with limited parking spaces.
