Risotto Cacio e Pepe all'Osso Buco

I'm behind on my reviews. My wife and I were visiting Fort Lauderdale, and I had a craving for Italian food. The food was excellent!! The scallops were perfectly cooked, sweet and succulent. The parsnip it was served on was delicious. The bread with the dip was to die for. Olive oil and fresh herbs with warm bread were excellent. My wife enjoyed her pasta. The beef carpaccio was delicious. I could use more capers. The oxtail risotto was okay. Something about the risotto I didn't like: I think a mushroom risotto would go better. It is good. It could be better. Our waiter, Jonathan, made some recommendations. He was excellent and attentive. Matteo, who was assisting, was on it as well. Great duo!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We are outside because it's nice out. The weather was really good that evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're in the area, I recommend visiting.

If you are looking for great Italian food in Fort Lauderdale-LOOK NO FURTHER! Everything we had was spectacular - bolognese, sage/brown butter ravioli, mussels and calamari, and meat pizza were the highlights of our evening. Our server, Nair, was awesome, very attentive, and knew the menu like the back of her hand. We finished with the tiramisu and all left with smiles on our faces!

Get this. Osso Buco. Sooooo yummy.

This place is an amazing. You'll love the vibe with the pool view. Located in the Kimpton Fort Lauderdale & and about two block from the main strip it's perfectly located with great food. The service is amazing. They are extremely attentive and they will anticipate your needs. Thank you, Johnathan, Emily. Gio, Daniel, Richardo, Steven . You're welcome in advance.

Egg breakfast with fruit. It was exceptional.

La Fuga is a hidden gem in Fort Lauderdale. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We enjoyed wine and the excellent singer on Thursday night and an exceptional breakfast on Friday morning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will be trying dinner on a return visit. The breakfast menu had some very unique food choices. We both had the egg breakfast which was fresh and very tasty. All items were high quality and the price was $12. The service was friendly and prompt. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior dining area has a nice vibe and there is also outdoor seating near the pool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend La Fuga and will be back.

The food and service here were great! Our waiter was very helpful and the food came out relatively fast. The bruschetta was delicious, and the waiter made sure there was enough of it for all of us in the group (4). The gnocchi was also delicious. I do wish there were more vegetarian options, or options to make food vegetarian but otherwise a great time!

Linguini with whit clam sauce. Meh

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Place was deserted on a Thursday night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Best thing was the aperol spritz for $9. Worst was the linguine with white clam sauce that was mostly and oddly chewy razor clams. Both the octopus and branzino and dip for the bread tasted the same. So if you don't love puttanesca, you will be disappointed. We should have been told it was all the same and we would have chosen differently. Prices are high. The 4th dish was forgotten by the wait staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Hard to believe since no one else was there for at least the first hour we were.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So many great options in the area. Sorry we do not understand the glowing reviews.

La Fuga GOOD: Excellent sides, pasta and sauces. Steve provided wonderful, dedicated service BAD: Price for the entree quality, [[HIGHLIGHT]]some entrees fell flat and although new, the restaurant could use a moderate, modern makeover[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were surfing Yelp and decided to try La Fuga, an Italian-focused menu with some seafood. We all enjoyed the veggie sides including the brussel sprouts and brocolini. My diners pasta with clams and and meat sauce was very good. On the downside, my chicken dish was over cooked and dry despite the dunking of sauce. For 26$ it was barely a thigh, maybe a quarter at best. Our party reported the cheese wasn't fully melted on the pizza. Prices are generally very steep with veggie sides running between 7-9$ [[HIGHLIGHT]]Finally, it sounds picky but the dining space is wide open so the very old dining floor really stands out giving it an older, dining hall feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A strip with good sythetic wood flooring would work wonders and compliment the beautiful frontal view of the pool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I can't say enough amazing things about this restaurant! The ambiance, the food and the service were all fabulous! Steven, our bartender, anticipated our every need. All of their mixers are made in house, (by Steven himself.). We lucked up and came in during happy hour (on a Saturday!) and were able to order some delicious small bites at a great price! We had the slider and meat and margherita pizzas. While chatting with Steven, he learned about my past love of SATC and cosmopolitans. He gave me a taste of the best Cosmo I have ever had! I highly recommend it! The next time I'm in town, we'll definitely be back to La Fuga for their delicious food and wonderful service.

The food was delicious. The staff were so kind and polite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had our dinner outside. It was a beautiful night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend the chocolate torte. I would definitely go back.

A wonderful dining experience. Nestled in the Kimpton Shorebreak. A lovely space with a modern aesthetic with 1950s flair. Our amazing bartender/server, Steven, whipped up some tasty drinks while suggesting some of his personal favorite dishes from the kitchen. We kicked things off with the Italian mojito and the butterfly pea flower spritz. Both were light and refreshing drinks that leaned toward the sweet side. We started with the fresh baked bread and house made tapenade with oil and balsamic, which was so yummy and a good omen for the meal to come. . We ordered the Calamari and Mussels, the oxtail risotto, and the prosciutto and fig pizza. Everything was fantastic. The calamari and mussels were cooked to perfection. The oxtail risotto was incredible. The oxtail was so tender. The Barolo reduction was so rich. The risotto was perfectly al dente with just the tight amount of bite to it. This is not always the case, most of the time when I order this is comes out mushy. The pizza was a grand slam. Very nice crust with fresh pesto paired with the salty bites of prosciutto with pops of sweetness from the figs and the goat cheese with creamy unctuousness that brings the whole pie together. Overall an amazing experience top to bottom. The food, service and atmosphere were fantastic. Shout out to Steven the bartender for making it a wonderful evening.

As I walked up to the door I started having second thoughts. The dining room was set up for fine dining, but there was one other table. The host greeted us warmly and we were seated promptly. Sergio removed the extra place settings, a sign of a good restaurant. He offered us either still or sparkling water as we received our menus. The price points were very affordable. You could easily find these meals for twice the price elsewhere. We started with the mini meatballs. Scrumptious! You must try them. The bread, oil and herbs presentation was impressive and tasted great. I ordered the Penne Bolognese and my guest ordered the crab ravioli. The Bolognese tasted like it took all day to cook. So good, and piping hot. The pasta was perfectly al dente. Sergio brought us a complimentary vegetable soup to sample, and the we were offered dessert. I chose the Lemon cake, and my guest tried the cheesecake. Both exceptional. Then were given a complimentary amaretto shot after dessert. Sergio was the best server I could remember I. A long time. She's lived here her entire life and is very particular about where she eats. She says a lot of her longtime favorite restaurants have really gone downhill over the years, so I was excited to try one that has remained consistently good. The restaurant is located in a shopping plaza, which is pretty common in South Florida. Once you walk inside, though, you forget you're in a plaza. It's beautifully decorated with a warm European feel that makes it inviting and cozy. It's a good-sized restaurant, and my girlfriend mentioned it's usually packed. Since it's currently the slower season, it wasn't as busy, which is a little sad to see, but hopefully business picks back up when the snowbirds return. We were seated right away, and our waiter was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. The menu had an incredible selection of authentic Italian dishes, along with several specials listed on the board that all sounded amazing. We decided to share the meatballs and the Bolognese, and that ended up being the perfect choice. I also ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio. At $15 a glass, I definitely cringed a little because I always think about how the whole bottle probably costs around $20, and one glass is never enough! They also brought out fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Let's just say I ate far more bread than I planned because there was absolutely no way I was letting any of that incredible meat sauce from the Bolognese--or the rich sauce from the meatballs--go to waste. The food was absolutely spectacular. I honestly can't say enough about how delicious everything was. Every bite tasted homemade and full of flavor. For dessert, I skipped the sweets and ordered an espresso martini instead. They did a fantastic job. The last upscale restaurant I visited in West Palm Beach served one of the worst espresso martinis I've ever had, proving that just because a restaurant is expensive or considered "high-end" doesn't automatically mean the quality is there. This restaurant absolutely delivered on both the food and the cocktails. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience. This is definitely a restaurant I'll be coming back to whenever I'm in the Fort Lauderdale area, and I can certainly see why it's one of my girlfriend's favorites.
