Lasagna Della Nonna. This is always an awesome dish.

Four of us dined at Vis Bologna's and had an awesome evening. Each of us ordered a different dish and each was amazing. They had a nice wine selection and our service was good. We enjoy the ambiance of the small dining area. They do not take reservations. I have eaten here many times and will be back. I highly recommend Via Bologna's.

We did carry out. I got that eggplant roll a teeny which was pretty good. I thought it was a little pricey for an appetizer at $14.00

If you could not tell by their name, this is an old Detroit Fire house, located back in a residential/ industrial like area. As you drive to it, you might think, you're lost or going the wrong way....keep going a pleasant surprise awaits your arrival. The interior design and renovations are really, really impressive and pay homage to the years of service as a firehouse, while creating a new vibrant, cozy atmosphere for diners to enjoy. This is a wine bar, no cocktails. And, you will not find any mass produced wines on their extensive list of options. Most all of the wines they offer are estate bottled, French style wines where growers control everything from the planting of the grapes to the bottle. It's an education, and one their staff seems so well versed on, helping you find something you will enjoy. they allowed us to sample a couple before ending on a really good Rose. We ordered a number of small plates which included: Sourdough with beillevaire butter, a generous portion of bread, served warm, soft inside, crunchy outside and the butter was the best tasting butter we have ever had! We also had the shrimp cocktail with horseradish sauce, 6 nice sized shrimp, firm, cold, fresh and very flavorful. Lastly whet they called a "tiny salad" it's basically a Caesar. This was also amazing with breadcrumbs mixed into the dressing, so flavorful. We would do all of these dishes over again. No Meal is complete without dessert; we chose the burnt basque cheesecake with Pedro ximenex sherry. This hands down is the best cheesecake we have ever had, and we love cheesecake. Our server was very cordial, helpful and so knowledgeable not just educating us about their wine selections, but also about their sourcing and philosophy on food. So glad we had the experience. We will definitely be back again.

We grabbed a spot immediately at the bar and perused the wine list. Our server was generous with letting us sample before committing to a glass. I tried orange wine for the first time and decided to stick with whites. A Riesling from Saarland hit all the right notes. For food, we ordered shrimp cocktail. 3 plump shrimp over ice with a side of cocktail sauce and shavings of fresh horseradish arrived. We savored every bite. Next up was the venison tartare. It was a unique take on the meat, mild in flavor. I would absolutely order again and recommend. If ladder 4 is on your list to check out, do not hesitate to go. I think you'll find that it's a very satisfying place to visit on a night out.

I found this place online and finally got a chance to come in here today to check the place out…read more The positives: Small store with a great selection. I'm not the most educated wine person, but there seemed to be a little bit of everything here. Great location and easy to find. They also have wine tastings here as well, and if you check in, you get 50% off. Guy seemed knowledgeable and passionate about the business. I love that I'm dealing with someone who KNOWS what their selling, and can educate me during the process. I was offered a free sample of wine, which I passed on, but definitely a positive! The negatives: Prices are a bit steep, and even though I'm sure it's quality stuff. $50 a bottle is a bit much for me. Sometimes I want a $9.99 bottle because sometimes it's just a matter of picking up a bottle to take to a party or serve at my house with dinner. They have a cute bar, but the seating is limited. I wanted to sit down and drink after I walked around, but a birthday party walked in and the one chair was in the middle of the party. Not the Wine stores fault, but a bigger bar would have been good. I don't think they serve food. I don't require a full meal, but snacks with wine seems to help hold the stomach, and absorb the wine when doing a tasting. I didn't ask, but I'm pretty sure they don't serve food. I want more wine knick knacks! Hardly any merchandise for sale! Overall a great place. I would love to return for a tasting and learn about wine again.

A nice moderate size wine shop located on Telegraph Rd in Bloomfield township. This store…read moreemphasizes mostly red wines ranging from moderate cost value wines to expensive limited production highly rated boutique reds. Many of the wines in this store are from small little known vineyards where the owner has developed a relationship with the vitner over the years and has arranged small allotments to his store that you will not find anywhere else in the area. The owner is also extremely knowledgeable on the wine industry in general, the various vineyards, many of the wine makers and the grape sources for the wines he carries which is the main driver in all good/great wines. It was a real pleasure and education discussing his wines with him and what his store has to offer which includes weekly wine tastings on Saturdays, quarterly wine clubs and upscale gourmet dinners with wine pairings. Quite a lot going on this one store. If you're in this area and your interest is full bodied reds, than this is a business you should definitely visit and spend some time talking to the owner who is readily available.

There is a special menu, though you can still order from the regular menu. The place was busy (seems to be a local favorite), but it is large inside (a beautiful space!) and we were seated right away. I don't often comment on drinks in a review, unless there is something really remarkable (good or bad) and the drinks we had were fantastic! The bar tender(s) here really know what they are doing. Hubby had his usual Bacardi & Coke and for once you could actually taste the rum! Very nice. I ordered Lizzy's Strawberry Lemonade and it was excellent! If you like something refreshing, this one is for you. After looking over both menus, we figured why not go with the taco Tuesday vibe and ordered tacos. Hubby went with 3 beef (ground beef, cheese and pico sauce on the side as we requested) in hard shells. I went with a steak taco (steak, cheese, onions and cilantro on a flour tortilla), one beef and the pork belly in a flour tortilla. They made a mistake and sent out a steak and cheese taco (think kind of like a Philly but with steak chunks). Our server caught it and brought me out the pork belly. The verdict? Absolutely yummy! Where we are from down south, there seems to be an Americanized Mexican place on almost every corner. You probably know the kind. We never order a "steak anything" from those places because the meat is always overdone and like shoe leather. Not here!! The steak on both of my tacos was cut in chunks and super tender. All the meat tacos came with a nice amount of cheese and it was melted (a nice touch). But the star of the show for me?? Oh my that pork belly taco!! The pork belly was crisp (not overly so) and cooked in this amazing Korean BBQ type sauce. It was topped with a pineapple salsa that really balanced the dish out. I could eat several of those 3 times a week if I could. The service was fantastic (if you are there on a Tuesday, ask for Sarah). Super friendly and the timing on the meal was perfect. We would definitely come back when in the area again, in fact we might go back another night this week to try the regular menu!
