Came here for date night and enjoyed my overall experience. Upon arrival we were seated and were presented with delicious garlic knots. They were so soft and buttery. I could've ate 100 of those and been pleased with my overall meal, but luckily I did not. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan with spaghetti and it was delish. The serving was huge and you can definitely taste that the sauce was homemade. This is my boyfriend and i's little date night spot. Thursday's they ah e half off appetizers so it's we get some Togo for the weekend as well. Such a cute little restaurant but they have an open kitchen concept which is freakin awesome, coming from someone in the service industry. We love this place and recommend to anyone. Our experience here was awesome great food great service! Their garlic bread rolls are delivered piping hot straight out of the oven. We ordered the meat amore pizza and an Alfredo pasta both tasted spectacular. They helped us pair a wine with our meal by giving us some wine samples which always helps to decide on one. A detailed side note are the actual fresh flowers on the table we had lilies at ours and they help set a welcoming environment. So sometimes you don't expect much but then a restaurant changes the way you think about food. I have been here so many times and the food is so amazing. I live like 5 minutes away and every time I go there it is always packed. The place is a little small so I always do takeout. I have had the cheese ravioli, Alfredo plus Alfredo with shrimp, and the Baked ziti with Italian sausage. We moved to Houston from NYC recently and have been trying to find good, non-chain restaurants. After having a bad day at work I just craved a glass of wine and a bowl of pasta. FOUND IT. Unassuming location, but with very good food. The Italian Cafe looks like a hole in the wall. It's in an older strip center off of Kuykendahl. I never would have found it, if not for Yelp. It is a very small cafe, however. Prepare for a wait, because it's almost always packed. It's really more a place for couples or families of four as it's a very small cafe. One thing that is interesting is they have a window into the kitchen so you can see them cooking. I finally got around to trying the Cresfollini (crepes stuffed with spinach Parmesan and Ricotta). Very rich, but tasty. I've tried the Chicken Parmesan, but I prefer the Cresfollini. read more

Uncomfortable seating, no waiting area and it was so busy that the people waiting for tables were jammed into the backs of the people at the tables eating. We were asked to move to a different table so they could move ours to another table for a large group. What made it so Akward is we weren't really asked, it was like " we need to move you to another table". I will say the food was good, but it just couldn't make up for the whole uncomfortable experience we had here. read more

We went to celebrate my birthday. I ordered the capellini San Maren and it was exactly what I expected with the flavor. My mom ordered lasagna and it was delicious (the best I've tasted). My daughter ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was very tasty. We were already talking about what we would try on our next visit. I'm excited to find this Italian cafe so close to home. The Capellini San Maren was one of the best Italian dishes we've had. The brushchetta appetizer was good, and the mouse cake was tasty, yet not overly sweet. Service was attentive. We wound up here after our standard Lasagna House III was closed due to fire, and I suspect the Italian Cafe will be our new go to place. read more

Let's move on to the pizza.... I decided to create my own 4 topping. It was very saucy, the mozzarella cheese was exquisite, and on top was roasted red peppers, pineapples, italian sausage, and sliced meatball. You're welcome for the part.
