I'm solely giving Italian Cafe a 4 star review because my main entree was AMAZING! I had the Chicken Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce was by far the best tasting Alfredo sauce i've ever had! The portion size was perfect! The only reason this place fell short of my 5th star was because everything else was terrible! Their free garlic rolls tasted like I was eating bread that was soaked in olive oil. I could literally only make out the taste of olive oil. The salad that comes with my entree was super sad looking. I honestly think they would be better served if the salad were on an even smaller plate than it already was so that it would look more plentiful than it did. They really seemed to ration the amount of salad that was given. I also was disappointed because my salad dressing didn't taste homemade. We ordered Tiramisu for dessert and we weren't at all pleased with the flavor. There was an overwhelming taste of coffee liqueur. All that sad, I'd still come back for that main entree of pasta. I came here because of yelp reviews, and they were all correct, this place is quality! I came to celebrate my four year anniversary and wanted to find somewhere quaint and within a ways so we could also catch a movie down the street. I wish I would've known about this place sooner, because I'm definitely going back! The fettuccine was AMAZING, as was the ravioli! Dim lit, romantic, and busy enough to be inviting but not too busy. The portions are big, and very savory- expect to bring some home (a plus in my book). I'll definitely be coming back, my only critique is that the tails weren't taken off of my shrimp so I had to get my hands a little messy, but that's okay with me :) read more

We tried this based on the recommendation of friend. LOVED our meal. I ordered the Cannelloni and it was amazing. Very fresh, very flavorful - one of the best I've ever had. My husband had a pasta and sausage dish (so sorry, can't remember the name, but it's got a spicy symbol next to it!) that he said was amazing also. Word of warning - the spicy symbol was accurate! He loved it, but was glad he tried it before he added red pepper flakes to it. The garlic bites were good too, unique. While I loved the house italian dressing, the way the salad was prepared was a little odd. Long "slices" of romaine lettuce and chunks of vegetables. I would have preferred mine to have been more chopped, but that's personal preference. I was full from dinner, so we didn't get a chance to try any desserts. The pricing was good, better than most of the "chain" Italian restaurants and better tasting too. We definitely plan on coming back again soon. read more

This is a surprising little find for the Spring area. From the outside, Italian Cafe doesn't look very promising, but the yelp reviews convinced me to give it a try. I am very pleased that I did! Once you walk into the restaurant, you no longer feel like you're in a strip center surrounded by subdivisions. The decor gives the restaurant a more intimate, urban vibe and it attracts the gamut of diners (singles, young couples, families, and seniors.) The menu is rather uninspiring, but the food will leave you quite satisfied. Definitely look at the chalkboard specials before you settle on something. I ordered off the menu (chicken milano) while my boyfriend ordered the salmon special and we were both quite pleased with our selections. The bread is unique and yummy and the house dressing for the salad that comes with your meal is a home run. All desserts are made in-house. I enjoyed the NY cheesecake since they sold out of the cappuccino mousse cake by the time I finished my meal. It was fantastic, light, and creamy. If you see a dessert on the chalkboard that you want when you walk in, order it before anything else. They sold out of two of the three options by 8:00. I noticed that also have a pizza menu and saw several people waiting for pizza to carry out. I will definitely be giving their carry-out pizza a try in the future. Service is great. The servers are attentive and interested in making sure you are happy. The only complaint I have about this restaurant is the wine. When I go to a restaurant, I trust that no matter what I order will at least be decent. I ordered a bottle of Chilean Pinot Noir and it was awful. I've had better $10 bottles from the grocery store. Perhaps stick to an Italian wine or order by the glass. read more

First time here. Food was good- not great. The chicken marsala had good flavor but the chicken was way over cooked. I needed a steak knife to cut it. So many people were ordering spaghetti and meatballs, so I asked for a meatball to go with my side of spaghetti . It was good, very flavorful. I was a little surprised she charged me $1.50 for it though. Seems as though since she knew it was our first time here, she might have just let me try it. After all we had appetizers, entree's and desserts- they made plenty of money off us. $1.50 would just have been a nice gesture. We ordered the medium size margarita pizza as an appetizer, which was fresh and good. Obviously taking most of it home for the late night snack, My wife had the baked ziti which I thought was good, but it was a little spicy for her. The desserts were okay but not made in house. Overall it's acceptable. Not fabulous, but good. We'll try it again. read more

Great for a good family dinner. Friendly, clean, great food and good pricing. We've been there many, many times but this is the first time I've written a review. It is very hard to find a good Italian restaurant in this part of town. In fact this is the only one we've been back to repeatedly. Between us (my family and friends), we have tried most of their appetizers and main courses, we have enjoyed them all. They have a fish special every night and they have all been great as well. We thought this place was amazing. We went ten min before they opened and they were not bothered that we were there early. We were greeted right away and sat. We ordered the Hawaiian pizza and the spaghetti. We were both shocked that the meals came with salad. I ordered the smallest pizza thinking it was going to be a personal size but it was way more than that. We didn't mind though because we like leftovers. The same goes with the spaghetti. Went tonight and will NOT be going back. The owner of this place had best find a new manager ASAP. We got seated, waitress took our drink order and brought them, Another table was seated, got their drinks, bread and order taken while we are still waiting. I ask a waitress passing by if she can take our order and she said, "In a minute", after about 10 more minutes she finally came to take our order. Our daughter is 13 but wanted to order off the kids menu. She is on meds that kill her apetite. Order her a pizza off th kids menu and the waitress says she doubts they will let us do that. I ask for the manager and he explains that the age limit is there for a reason that you can't be 20 and go into a bar and order a drink. I said, I cannot believe you are comparing getting a drink to a kid ordering a pizza. we told them to just cancel our order and went somewhere to eat. I order the spaghetti with meatsauce here. It has been ok in the past. I ordered meatballs twice and they were "off" both times, so I stopped ordering them. Last night I ordered my usual and requested the meat sauce (they gave me regular tomato last time) so I reminded them. I got my order with plenty of meat. They had taken those god awful meatballs and crushed them over my spaghetti. I bit in only to spit it back out. I called at 9:20 and they said they were closed and couldn't bring fresh food OR refund my money. They are open until 10:00 on all websites. Bread is great, salad is ok, well it use to be. Owner called me today, wants me to call him back as I am a Sous. Why this comes up is because I had to assure the woman that I knew bad meat when I tasted it.
