I really enjoy a good grinder, and a veal parm is Heaven on Earth to me when done right. I was looking for some options not too far from E Bridgewater, and Italian Kitchen popped up with some great reviews. My father in law and I decided to check it out for lunch. When we arrived, the place was already pretty packed, with a very long line to order. I took this as a great sign, particularly since the emanating smells were amazing, and the food I saw on people's plates looked fabulous. Italian Kitchen has lots of options, including sandwiches and pastas, but I went there wanting a veal parm, so that is what I ordered. The veal was very tender (maybe some of the most tender I have ever had), which combined with the cheese literally melted in your mouth. The marinara sauce had a wonderful flavor, and the bread was soft with a great texture and taste. Needless to say, I loved my sandwich. The place is a bit small and gets super busy at lunch. You wait in line to order, find a table, and then go pick up your order when your order is called. It is simple but effective. There is also a butcher attached to the restaurant where you can buy meat, pasta, bread, and other delicious Italian things. I ended up picking up some imported Ziti since I was going to be making some later in the week. The prices are great for the quality you get, and as I already said my sandwich was amazing. Went to the Italian kitchen tonight. It was like a s*** show in there. We ordered our food to go. After 20 to 25 minutes I saw it sitting on the counter. I asked the girl if she could put it in the bag so I could take it. She said no it wasn't mine she was wicked rude. Waited another 10 minutes went back up again and asked about my food. She said that's yours I'm going to put it in the bag. I said yeah well you told me it wasn't mine and let it sit there and get cold. They need to find some good help in there. When I got home there was no sauce on my spaghetti only on the chicken. The bottom of the container was filled with water like spaghetti was never drained it was gross! We always love their food. We were expecting to be blown away based on the previous reviews but were left with disappointment. Not sure if the portion sizes are usually this small or if they downsized due to COVID. The pasta sauce didn't blow us away as we were hoping and unfortunately didn't have enough at the end to dip the complimentary bread into. My husband asked for provolone on his sub but it didn't come with any; the meatball and sausage flavors were very good though. The side salad was very fresh. read more

Overrated if you ask me. And the staff just suck. I ordered an antipasto and when I got it, it was covered in tuna. I hate tuna. So when I saw it, I mentioned it and the girl behind the counter was really rude when she said " So what do you want me to do, that's how its made " and gave me an attitude when I asked to just make another one without tuna. The food was really good! The garlic bread was fantastic! It was a little pricey for the size of the subs (only reason I didn't give 5) but absolutely worth it. Parking was a little bit of a concern, but you can eventually find a space. You can't go wrong here - old school vibe, and the food met expectations. read more

There is a reason this place has been around for 40+ years now... CONSISTENCY. It has the best American-Italien food around. The chicken parm is absolutely a perfect 10. Tender chicken cutlets drenched in a smooth, peppery sauce. The sauce is the key here... been a family recipe since the joint was built. I travel the 30 minutes to get there without hesitation. Italian Kitchen offers a food shop, and a restaurant attached to eachother. Every Christmas my family get the lunch meat for antipasto. They offer a bunch of imported products, deli type products, frozen pastas and so on, and hot packaged foods, and uncooked meats. Everything is excellent, the customer service is great. The restaurant is also amazing. I recommend the chicken parm, I dont know how they do it, but it seems to be wrapped around some cheese and a very light breading, and its absolutely delicious, and is very light, and not greasy at all. They also offer all kinds of subs which are great. Ive also had the meatballs, lasagna, salad, stuffed pasta things, and everything comes with these awesome fresh blukie rolls. My least favorite thing is probably the meatballs, and thats just because there not my grampas lol! Everything is great here, I highly recommend. Only downside they close early, by 7pm I think, they're closed Sundays, and the parking can be tough. read more

This is a great place to grab a meal! I've tried almost everything on the menu LoL! One of my favorite things to order there for lunch, is to order a salad, (personally I like the Greek Salad, the dressing they use is fantastic and they are very generous with the cheese too) and I also have them add a couple of meatballs and a sausage on the side. They also include a bun. Doing this allows me to skip the pasta have a salad eat like a king and still dip the bread in there absolutely yummy delicious homemade tomato sauce. Speaking of tomato sauce, they have by far one of the best. We like it better than some of the fancier restaurants we go to and often find ourselves comparing their's to others as well. It's really the perfect balance it's not spicy nor sweet but definitely would never be confused with bland. Just leaving this review is making me hungry! I had a great lunch today there and now plan to go again tomorrow. I'll mix it up though and get the trio which allows me to have a nice mix of pastas :) read more

My boyfriend wanted pizza but somehow we ended up here. And though we didn't get what we wanted, we were happy with the decision to stay. A pleasant, polite Paul took our order. The wait wasn't long. Despite wanting it to go we ended up staying to enjoy our food. Wow, is all I can say. The chicken parm was yummy. Nice ratio of soft vs. crunchy texture and a tasty sauce as well. The lasagna was sitting in a really great sauce and I'm sure the pasta and cheeses were fresh. Everything tasted authentic. We see why there were great reviews of the restaurant. Awesome subs. Delicious sauce to take home by the quart. Meetballs are so good as are the sausages and chicken parm. This place has it right. I ate here in the 70's as a kid and it has always been a Brockton favorite right up there with Cape Cod Pizza. It is however geared to take out orders. There are some tables, but not too many and it is not a restaurant atmosphere whatsoever. Just standard pizza place booths. People will be picking up their take out orders within 5 or 6 feet of your table the whole time you are eating if you decide to eat in. The food is delicious though. ***would be 5 stars, but I got extremely overcooked sausages last time (first time ever though). Plus it's in the Campello section of Main St., practically across the street from a very busy liquor store. Not the worst area, but it's not so great either. There's barely any parking. read more

Im Italian I eat Italian food all the time. I remember when I was little my grandma would always make italian food it was so good. When I walked into the Italian Kitchen it felt like grandmas house again. It is a nice little restaurant they have a very good reputation in the area and it is well deserved I when in there and i got chicken parmesan and it was so good I wanted seconds. It was so good I take out there almost twice a month and I keep crawling back for more. By far it is the best Italian restaurant in Brockton and I would recommend it to anyone who needs that taste of grandmas cooking. read more

After living in Brockton for 30 years, I had my first Italian Kitchen experience. Why I waited so long, I don't know. First the restaurant side, I have only gotten take out from here, usually after the lunch rush. I usually get gnocchi with sausage and meatballs. All of the food is simply done, and consistant in quality. Everything I have ever had, has always been really good. Prices are pretty decent for the amount of food that you get. The Italian market side, I have been in twice, usually in kind of a rush, so I haven't really gotten to see everything that they have, but I have gotten a few things; Garlic butter sauce, which they sell by the pint or quart; Frozen eggplant parmesan, which you bake in the oven; and finally, they have frozen bar-style pizzas from somewhere in the Lithuanian village (i think?). On my last visit I saw frozen gnocchi, but haven't tried that one yet.. The prices over here, seem on the higher end, but still totally worth it. read more

I am often told about this place, and decided to try it. The eggplant parm sub I ordered was very expensive and not the price listed on the menu (I was charged almost ten dollars for something that was listed as seven and change). When I opened the sub, the bread was covered in sauce, and the eggplant, while well cooked, was barely seasoned and pretty tasteless. The sauce itself tasted plain and like it came out of a jar, and the bread was your average sub shop quality (honestly, Subway bread is much better than than smushed, bland sub roll I recieved, and I would expect an old style Italian joint to do better than a giant chain). I'll give them two stars since it was clean and service was polite, but I don't plan on returning. read more

Al I know is my place of employment had catering done by them and my cat could have made better/more authentic Italian food. I also had the misfortune to dine-in with the same results. Food is bland, VERY bland and uninspired. Absolutely no love of creative thought is put into their food. I am sorry to say this but it is true. I have been coming here since i was a little girl with my grandparents. I have NEVER had a bad meal. The classic spaghetti and meatballs always hits the spot. Great service. Food is always ready fast and comes out hot. Same people working there since i was little so i love seeing familiar faces. I always have them cater my birthday parties and events. If you live in or around a city with really good food, say Boston or NYC, you will return to the Italian Kitchen in Brockton only because you're stuck in Brockton and getting an edible meal there is almost impossible. The diners who enjoy very simple American-style "Italian" will be satisfied with the joint.
