The ambiance has a nostalgic charm, updated just enough to feel fresh without losing that comforting neighborhood vibe. The menu sticks to the classics--veal parm, spaghetti and meatballs, eggplant parm--the kind of fare you expect and appreciate. While it doesn't quite reach the level of homemade pasta and authentic dishes you'd find in Boston's North End, it's solid, satisfying food. A nice touch: warm Italian bread served in a paper bag--simple, smart, and it stays warm throughout the meal. The homemade soups were excellent. Both the minestrone and chicken orzo were hearty, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. The eggplant fingers appetizer didn't quite live up to my expectations, but they were crispy, not greasy, and still had a good flavor. The kids' spaghetti came simply with butter and Parmesan cheese--classic, but a bit heavy on the butter this time. The meatball sub was a hit, served on a proper Italian roll with a good balance of meat, sauce, and bread. Service was a highlight. All the staff were friendly and attentive, and our server was especially outstanding--she even retrieved my granddaughter's favorite bracelet after it fell behind the booth. Above and beyond! Made reservations for 6pm last night and the parking lot was beyond jam packed! Drove around twice however in the second trip around the blonde hair manager was walking outside so I told her we had reservations and where should we park. Her response after shrugging her shoulders!, "I don't know..maybe across the street?" And turned away and kept walking ! So I made my own parking spot ! Went inside and was seated! Had to wait almost 15 minutes for the waitress to come over....took our drink order.....took a while to get them! We had to ask for them. She then took our order....asked if we wanted bread and walked away. Came with bread but no butter so had to ask for that too! Meals came and never once did she come by to see if we needed anything or if your meals were good and please know the restaurant was NOT busy at all! The parking was for their outside entertainment! Just so sad. We have been dining here for over 30 years! Won't be returning ! Waitresses there do not care enough to accommodate their patrons but I'm sure complain when their tips aren't good! Long time customer, food is always good! However, last few times we noticed the portions are smaller, less veal and chicken than usual. The service is also hit or miss, very attentive or you see your server every 20 min. Last night four of us there for dinner, good food, smaller portions, poor service. Local Italian cuisine with marginal quality. Yes, I know it's harsh but the truth sometimes hurts. If your expecting a North End type of dinner then you'll be disappointed. But the services was very nice. Had a anti pasta salad which was fine. We ordered veal saltimbocca & Haddock ( FISH ) , mine ( veal ) tasted ok. Not sensational but I took the risk when I should have grabbed the chicken parm. The fish was undercooked and was returned for a new properly cooked piece. The manager stopped by to ask some questions which I appreciated her concerned and we declined her offer of desert. I didn't take pictures. I live 10 minutes from here and haven't been to the restaurant in over a decade (I was upset then they charged for a soda refill so didn't go back) so figured let's try it out. We came here because there was entertainment on a Wednesday evening. No where on their website do they say reservations are required to listen to the entertainment. We got there at 6:30, and was told since we didn't have a reservation we couldn't listen to the band. That people don't leave and will sit at the tables the entire night there is a band. So I asked , can we eat inside (where no reservations were needed) then come back out to dance and have a drink? Was told no, we would be in the way of the servers and we needed to have a reservation for a table. Went back to the car and tried to figure out somewhere else to go- before we left (45 minutes later) we asked if there was a table available outside at that point - and there was so we were seated outside. The outside area is nice. It was REALLY buggy by 9 though- they should spray we were getting attacked by mosquitoes. The dance area is perfect. We really liked the outside area. The food, is marginal. Sauce tastes canned or jarred - my husband left half his lasagna. I had the fried meat raviolis which had the tiniest bit of meat inside. Really nothing special here- the drinks were pretty good. Server was pleasant. We had to chase her down for utensils after she dropped off our food- but we get it, it was busy. This is not north end or federal hill Italian. I really wish it was. It's... ok. But after the experience trying to get seated the first time, I don't see us going back. read more

Ordered the chix parm and when it came it was flat and overcooked. I would have sent it back but by the time the waitress came back to see how our meal was, oh wait, she didn't come back. I had to ask someone for her. I finally was able to share my concern. Did a manager follow up with us? No. Any visit to the table? No. And this was on a slow Monday. This place used to be a gem. Terrible Food /bland/salt ONLY! - delivery was good, we are camping at the very close (3 miles) KOA - my chicken piccata was steamed chicken, capers and major amount of salt - zero "sauce", no lemon, no cream - terrible. Husband had chicken saltimbocca and it was again "steamed chicken" and canned mushrooms......So sad - had really high hopes after a long stressful day of travel for a delightful "local" Italian treasure....definitely not here! read more

We went there yesterday, we had the chicken parmigiana and manicotti with 2 meatballs, the sauce was horrible, the meatballs were hard as a rock with no taste and the portions were smaller than usual. Our family has been going there since day one, unfortunately it has declined over the years. read more

Went there for father's day last year, had the Lasagna. Absolutely loved it. Tonight had their pizza for take out. Mind you I live in Plymouth, and Lorenzis us in Middleboro which is about 17 minutes away. We'll worth the trip. Know I know why they ha e stayed in business for 75 years. Well done. read more

I dont know where the bad reviews are coming from here but I have been visiting this place once a month for 45 yrs and never had such good and real Italian food. Never had a bad meal or waitress. Every other place I go doesn't offer meat sauce or a good tomato sauce, Bland and rite out of a Sysco can. The only complaint with Lorenzo's I have is they are not straining there pasta enough . I usually drain the water into a spare cup or plate that's on the table. It could be cause they are busy as hell and don't wait that extra minute to drain the pasta enough. But that's it, other than that A++++++++++++++++. All other restaurants are tomato's and water rite out of the can sauces awful!!! read more

You can tell that they are all about saving money on ingredients. Service was good and everyone was friendly. Not expensive. Frozen, microwaved food. Terrible marinara had a brown tinge. We went to Lorenzo's today around 2 . The Hostess/Manager, Laura, was very rude. We entered the restaurant and she was at the front desk looking at her cell phone, and continued to look at her cell phone. We stood there for a bit until I finally said," Excuse me can we get a seat in the bar area." She finally acknowledged me and asked if we wanted to sit at the bar or be seated. I said seated please. There was no one else waiting and the bar area had plenty of seating. I am sure if one of her employees had been on the phone and ignored a customer they would have been reprimanded. Lorenzo's is a local Italian restaurant which steps out of its comfort zone from time to time. This month they offer German "Octoberfest" food. I had the Weiner Schnitzel with spaetzle. Although it was cooked well, it was lacking seasoning. It also could have used a creamy white sauce or other sauce for flavor. My dining partner had the prime rib, which was very good. I have been to Lorenzo's numerous times because their food is consistently good. My favorite is their angel hair pasta with clam sauce. Their veal parm is excellent too. I will be back! read more

Lorenzo's is a great place! There's something on the menu for everyone. Whether it's classic Italian, pizza, seafood or American dishes, Lorenzo's has you covered. I ordered the homemade chicken soup and it was soo good, I actually asked for a second cup. My husband and I decided to share a large pizza, let me tell you, it was HUGE enough for 4 very hungry people. We took the leftovers to the beach the next day and it was just as good as the first time. I highly recommend Lorenzo's for a nice night out. We went back again this summer because they had remodeled so we figured maybe they made it better and asked to be seated outside. The food was greasy and pedestrian. There was some kind of 60-year-old man band and I can say that because I'm 60 and they were horrible and played at 92 dB per the app I have on my phone. It was ear Damaging and horrible. So visited Lorenzo's again recently. Went for their weekend entertainment. One of my favorite duos was playing. My friend and I had a great time. The service on the patio was great. We did share a couple of meals. We ordered the antipasto salad and the chicken broccoli with linguini. The salad was ok. Fresh but not large. It suited the two of us ok. The pasta meal was bland. I was surprised that there was no attempt to present either in any special way. The pasta was cooked perfectly. Food is always fresh & tasty. Veal parm is the tenderest veal I've ever eaten. Eggplant parm is one of my favorite dishes. Tender eggplant and nice mix of ricotta. Love their baked shells parm.
