ORIGINAL POST: Had my food DoorDashed since I'm on a work trip and working at an office. The food arrived hot and fresh. Smelled absolutely amazing. I ordered a Naan-Wich Aka Shawarma, hot, with steak ($3.00 up charge). The hot was definitely about right for hot. Probably compared to a good hot wing. I'm sure spicy and extra spicy are hot-hot! Flavor overall was great. The naan was perfectly cooked. Now as for the steak, the quality was disappointing. The first bite I had a very hard piece that was inedible. You know, it happens. A few bites later another inedible piece, but wasn't as hard this time at least. Not a big deal, a couple pieces does happen, but turned out to be 3-4 pieces were inedible and I had to spit them out. Most of the edible pieces were a little chewy and possibly overcooked. Other than the steak, overall was pretty good. I would definitely be willing to give them another try... just not with steak. lol. read more

We stayed overnight in Amarillo on our way to visit family and arrived right around dinnertime. Wanting something on the healthier side, we found *It's a Punjabi Affair*, which had great reviews and was only five minutes from where we stayed. They offer both drive-up and dine-in, and we decided to eat inside. The cashier was incredibly friendly--she handed us menus, pointed out the specials, answered our questions, and took our order with a smile. I went with the 7-vegetable korma special and swapped the naan for papadum (GF). The korma was flavorful with just the right amount of spice, and it even included some paneer... yum! My partner ordered the chicken biryani with papadum and really enjoyed his meal as well. Overall, a great find on our road trip. We'd definitely stop by again the next time we're in Amarillo. read more

Saw a lot of great reviews for this restaurant so I thought I'd see what the hype was about. It's a cute venue with indoor and outdoor seating. There is a QR code and there are physical menus available. When ready, place your order at the window. When your dishes are ready, they will call out your name to come pick up your food. We ordered the lamb biryani and the butter chicken. The rice to meat portion in the biriyani was 3 (rice):1 (lamb). The butter chicken was good, but wondering why the sauce was so red. I've tried this restaurant back in 2023 on my road trip to Texas and yesterday, I got to try again when passing through Amarillo. If you're craving Indian food and passing through Amarillo - there is no need to think again, just go to this place. We were reaching Amarillo at 8:50pm and this place close at 8:30pm on Sunday but I really wanted to try this so I called ahead and they were able to accommodate our request. We ordered the detox lentils and fenugreek paneer. All the curry comes with naan and rice, tangy onion and papad. They are able to substitute rice with naan as needed. Portion quantity is also good. Detox lentil is basically close to dal makhni. Fenugreek paneer was higher on tangy side, so I would recommend adjusting that a bit. Naan is good, we ate food around 9:30pm and it was still soft. Overall good experience with decent price. read more

Could smell this place from an event across the street. Ordered the smothered fries, butter paneer, biriyani and a couple desserts to go. Wow wow wow. SO GOOD!! Asked for spice level 3-4 and it was so tasty. It's a small place, clean, cute decor and the young man that took the order was very kind and helpful. This place is now going to be our go to travel stop in Amarillo. I wish I lived here because I'd eat here all the time. Sooooo yummy The business is small and unassuming but it's clean and modern. The restroom is in a weird walk outside location but it's also very clean and nice. The food is top tier and literally the best Indian food I've had. Hot and fresh with amazing flavor. I had to pass through Amarillo on my way north and I'm so glad I stopped in to this place for lunch, it's amazing and I'm sad I will probably never be in the area again to enjoy it another time! If you are local please show this place some love for me. The lentils were perfect, the naan and roti were super fresh, and the service was prompt and friendly. The ambiance was very pretty without being overstated, I loved all the decor and they really made excellent use of the space by incorporating a back patio. It's a Punjabi Affair is an amazing little restaurant on the corner of a street. It may not look like much from outside, but the interior is cozy and thoughtfully decorated. Owners are super friendly and give great recommendations. We had a late lunch so food came out super fast. We decided to try the shahi paneer as recommended and their most popular menu item, butter chicken. The paneer was prepared with nuts, spices and yogurt. There were cashews and dried fruit which added great flavor. It was mildly spicy but not too overwhelming. The butter chicken was very unique - it tasted more tomato sauce heavy than dishes I've tried at other restaurants, but it was nonetheless great! Portion sizes were plentiful and the naan and poppadum (super flavorful, my first time trying this!) were beautifully presented. The mango lassi was quite interesting. It was very creamy and almost tasted like a yogurt smoothie. It was good, just not what we were expecting. Tldr; this place is a must try! My stomach is happy. read more

Wow, we had the pleasure of eating at Punjabi Affair at the start and end of our vacation, July 18 & Aug 14. The owner is a great guy, very personable and gracious. He remembered us at the end of our month long trip and remembered where we were going. Amazing. We love Indian food and Punjabi Affair will not disappoint. Our food on both trips were very delicious. What a great experience for us. I don't remember what we ate but heck i don't know what i ate yesterday. The portions were generous, the food absolutely delicious. Thank you for the experience. Odd little location that is outside the city. But they've been there for years and seem to be doing well, so godspeed "puttr "! The food was excellent, served in a sophisticated style of presentation and best of all (not something one can say for all Punjabi restaurants...) all the sauces were distinct in taste! We had the dal makhani and the lamb (I'm drooling even though this meal was in July and it's September now!!!) we got the medium spice level which was a good idea. This is the first time we got to bring some of the kids, and it was an absolute hit!! The food is so flavorful, comforting, and richly flavored.
