I decided to spend $13.00 on a plate at this establishment, when the cashier noticed I did not leave a tip she rudely said out loud "Thanks for the tip!" Across the board our guests remarked that the food was the best food they had ever had at a wedding! The presentation, staff and level of service from Wayne and his lovely partner Evelyn and their team was excellent at every turn. From the friendly servers to the beautiful silver serving chafers we were impressed at every turn. Crowd favorites included Wayne's famous ribs, the incredibly delicious salmon, the mac and cheese, the potato salad, baked beans and garlic bread. Drink stations were elegantly designed around the venue. We would highly recommend It's In The Sauce for anyone planning a wedding or big event. So I place my order through doordash. And it was quite an expensive order. However they were out of a lot of the things. So they called to let me know however, so let me know that they were out of every side is my order. Which was strange to me because the person sitting next to me also ordered from them and they ordered the same meal but 10 min. after me . So they decided to not look at you no time stamps and fulfill orders however they feel like it so therefore I didn't get my food. Then when I do get my food it's not that great. My order arrived 30 minutes after the person who sat next to me and ordered after me did. Very dissatisfied will never order again. Don't waste your money on the cornbread it is grainy and like sand. The brisket was apparently made by a grandmother that did not have many teeth because it is boiled not barbecue. The collard greens have no vinegar and no hot sauce I don't know who made these. I've never had potato salad with black pepper in it and red peppers interesting take I was just glad there were no raisins. The best thing I got where the beans and I don't even like beans. The sauce the barbecue sauce itself is nothing to Rave about I literally had to get my Sweet Baby Ray's and my mr. Stubbs out. Save your money make it at home. read more

Stopped here on our way to Santa Barbara, what a find! They're only open at the store two days a week but that's fine. We had the chicken, pork, and then try 10 all three were excellent. The regular sauce is zesty and they have spicy sauce but we're out of it by the time we got here... Lunch plates all have a garlic roll and you can choose a side. We had coleslaw and potato salad and both were really good. I like the potato salad because it actually had chunks of potatoes and wasn't too creamy. The coleslaw wasn't too saucy but had a lot of flavor. We will definitely be back. Peach cobbler is not to be missed! read more

I haven't been moved to leave a Yelp review in a very, very long time, so that alone might attest to the experience we had with It's In The Sauce, but let me elaborate a bit. My wife and I hosted a party last night for our first anniversary. We had never hosted such a large event (30 people at our house!), but Greg made the planning and execution that much easier. He arrived right on time and even took some time to advise us on our buffet setup (guest line flow, chafing dish water level, etc.)! And the food...the FOOD! It was amazing. We had tri-tip/brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and potato salad, plus a couple of racks of baby back ribs. Everything was SO good and our guests were very pleased. I grew up in this part of Oxnard and have passed Its in the Sauce hundreds of times. Yesterday, my husband and I decided to have lunch next door at the Cafe. After lunch, I decided to get a menu from Its in the Sauce. I was greeted by the cutest little lady who you can barely see over the split door. Asked her a few questions about her tri-tip (It has to be thin sliced and medium rare!) She said "let me give you a sample!" OMG... this is one of the best tri-tips I have ever had!!! We came by for lunch today. I got the tri-tip plate w/collard greens and my husband the beef brisket sandwich. Peach Cobbler and a slice of 7-up cake. Lets just say, after all the years of passing by this place, I am so glad I finally discovered how BOMB this place is!!! Told all my co-workers and my daughter!! We hired It's In The Sauce to be 1 of 3 dinner options for our wedding reception and it was the crowd favorite by a landslide (for context, we had 260 guests). I mostly communicated with Greg during the planning process and out of 15+ vendors that I worked with during the wedding planning process, Greg was one of my favorite people - always kind, positive, responsive, and reliable. He made my life SO much easier and I never had to worry about him and his team. We had 0 leftovers (bittersweet, I was craving it after my wedding) and our guests still talk about the food 3 months later. My wedding coordinator even raved about Greg and Wayne's team and said they provided wonderful service throughout the entire night. The only thing I would have changed was having their food truck behind their food line and visible to guests, just to add to the food truck wedding theme, but not a big deal at all. Recently tried their food at the Camarillo Ranch Annual Car Show & Brew Fest. Super friendly -- always nice to get service with a smile! We had the chicken sandwich and pork sandwich. Meat portion on each sandwich was VERY generous. Texture was also fall-apart tender. I prefer my bbq sauce on the sweeter side, but the sauce was still very good, especially if you lean towards the tangy palate. Also had dessert. Hands down, the best peach cobbler I've ever had! Went here a while ago on the way to a camping trip. The food is pretty good, but the location is horrible. I know they need to combat the high cost of rent, but they're so out of the way that they're almost certainly losing business. That being said, the trip to this eatery is worth it if you're within an hour's drive. This place isn't a restaurant per se, but there are a few small tables if you prefer to eat your food there. The staff is very friendly and the food is tasty, but I don't think the business will be successful because of its remote location... too bad, because I like the food & service! read more

We heard great things about this place on Yelp so decided to give it a try. My wife was especially looking forward to a side of collard greens as she grew up eating them. Got there around 2pm. Walking in the place had a great BBQ smell. The staff were very friendly and welcomed us as we walked up to the counter. Food came out quickly. This is were things went in the wrong direction. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. It certainly didn't look like what you see in the picture. Pork was finely shredded and had such an overly powerful smoke flavor you couldn't taste the meat. My wife had the brisket sandwich and felt the smoke flavor overpowered the the meat too. She was also disappointed in the collard greens as they lacked flavor to her. My side of beans was fine. Maybe it was late in the day so we got what was left from the lunch crowd, but don't think we will be back. read more
