This is the best BarBq on the coast! It is a hole in the wall (literally!), but the food is excellent the Tri-Tip / Brisket sandwich is amazing. Especially with the hot Barbeque sauce (available on request). A warning though - the sauce is very, very hot! The food is affordable as well and we have always been able to park easily. Overall a good BBQ spot especially given that Oxnard isn't know for its BBQ. The pull pork sandwich I got was good except the bread was a bit soggy. You can find this food truck on the corner of Seaward in the Mobil Gas Parking lot. I was lucky to try this place at the Midtown food truck Friday event last month. I ordered the side of Mac and cheese, which was in the shape and texture of a patty. For the main dish I ordered the tritip sandwich which came on a type of French baguette. Both items were okay in size but definitely pricey. I must have spent $13-$14 for both items. If your looking for the "food truck" type fusion cuisine, you won't really find it here. Came for the cobbler, but got myself a tri tip sandwich too and I'm glad I did! Usually when I find tri tip sandwiches, the cuts of meat are too thick (in my opinion). I love the thinner slicing they do here as it makes it a much easier sandwich too eat. It reminded me of pastrami with the cracked pepper, so my dad and I were stoked. Their truck came to Pt. Mugu NAS today, which we are thankful for because we have VERY limited food choices here. I had their signature Cali-Tex sandwich which has a combo of tri tip and brisket. The bun was lightly grilled and the sauce tasty and authentic. Mac and cheese as a side was also very good. Would like to give more stars but their prices are too high. $10 for the sandwich itself and an extra $2 for a side. While it was good food, I thought it was about $2 too much. I have known of It's In the Sauce for a while as Ventura native and had heard it was the most authentic ethnic BBQ in the county but had never tried it as my usual place is Just BBQ when I'm in the mood. I moved to Camarillo and don't have the time to visit Ventura often so when I saw that they were coming to the university out in Camarillo (CSUCI) I was excited to have the opportunity to try it. I felt very welcomed by the young woman who took my order and had a great impression with the staff, who had a flair of southern charm and were polite but fun. The food. This is serious BBQ. It was delicious and I know I have to visit their physical location to try a full meal. While I would have liked a spicier sauce (I love hot stuff) the sauce was delicious and surprisingly light. Many BBQ sauces are heavy and make you pay for it. The bread was also very light and tasty, it did not have the heavy processed feel. The meat was very tender and had just the right amount of fat. Not a single piece seemed to be over or under cooked. I really want to thank It's In The Sauce for coming to the CSUCI campus with excellent service and some seriously delicious BBQ. In my 8 years here in California I've experienced many people claiming to have great BBQ or best "southern" restaurant. I have been disappointed on many occasions and have since refused to try them without a further investigation of their origin. On this night, the young man informed me that he was from a small town in which I was familiar. I explained that I was hesitant on any BBQ on the west coast due to prior experience. HE HAD BRISKET!!!
