Think foods like hummus, lamb, shawarma, falafel, fatoush, Tabbouleh, kebeh, grape leaves, and baklava. I picked up a beauty of a dish to take home today. My container was stuffed with at least two cups of yellow rice and two of the largest grilled chicken drumsticks I have ever seen. My food came with two side dishes- a small container of sweet, delicious rice pudding and a second container of what seemed like a mildly spicy tapioca. I had one drumstick and some rice for dinner and they were both excellent. The chicken was liberally seasoned, and the chicken itself was moist, juicy, and full of flavor. The rice was soft and flavorful and pretty much perfect. Hats off to the friendly gent who waited on me and handed the food over with a big smile!

I had their curry chicken with cabbage and rice and peas, and everything was very good. The chicken was cooked perfectly; it was super moist and very flavorful. As fans of Jamaican food are no doubt aware, be careful of the bones in your container. The cabbage was tender and had a bonus of diced carrots and corn mixed in. The rice and peas were some of the best I've ever had. The rice was soft and fluffy and mixed with plenty of a very zippy curry. Service was perfect, with a smiling and very friendly gent taking my order. Parking is available on Albany Avenue and in a small lot on the corner of Green Street.

Then another good review on YouTube by Eric on 'The Hungry Road'. So I had to check it out. I purchased 2 patties but one was certainly filling enough for lunch. My favorite hands down was the curry chickpea zucchini. It was a flavor explosion of veggies that was amazing. They also have a fridge full of patties packaged up for you to take home and bake. They had a dessert box too and today's special was pumpkin coco bread. The lucky couple in front of me grabbed the last two. Glad I live close enough to drop in regularly now.

We'd planned on some suds as part of our neighborhood exploration, but asked for menus because we saw a lot of folks at table enjoying some awesome-looking plates. All we had was a plate of incredible cheese (served in tiny 1/2 inch cubes, complete with picks) and "prosciutto." The meat was indeed a kind of prosciutto, but was served in 1/3 inch cubes, and set next to the cheese. The rosy, fatty, delicious hunks of meat were chewy but very good, also. Perfect for nibbling with beer. The "prosciutto and cheese" combo appetizer was $9.50. A shrimp appetizer, served in a seafood-forward, complex garlic sauce was only $7.95. The shrimp were pristine, sweet, and fresh -- and barely cooked. Perfection! We offered to pay for bread as an accompaniment. They didn't charge us. The bread was fresh, delicious Portuguese dinner rolls with butter. Every single thing we were served in our brief visit was fresh, served at the correct temperature, and was absolutely delicious. We can't wait to return. Beer, hors d'oeuvres, great service: $35 with a 25% gratuity. Value like this: priceless. GO HERE.
