Think foods like hummus, lamb, shawarma, falafel, fatoush, Tabbouleh, kebeh, grape leaves, and baklava. I picked up a beauty of a dish to take home today. My container was stuffed with at least two cups of yellow rice and two of the largest grilled chicken drumsticks I have ever seen. My food came with two side dishes- a small container of sweet, delicious rice pudding and a second container of what seemed like a mildly spicy tapioca. I had one drumstick and some rice for dinner and they were both excellent. The chicken was liberally seasoned, and the chicken itself was moist, juicy, and full of flavor. Got to try this restaurant inside of hartfords parkville market. I ordered falafel balls , a kibbie ball and baklava. Food was good. Baklava was soaked in honey. Staff was friendly and service was fast here. Prices were reasonable. read more

Best hummus I've had since I went to Israel in 2018! The falafel was great too but my goodness that hummus was immaculate. The owner was so kind to me and my family and gave my kiddo a pack of m&ms and a lollipop to wait which was so sweet and helped hold us over until the food was ready. It's in parkville market which is a cool spot to hang out it. Definitely need to go back asap and try more! read more

I had heard a Mediterranean restaurant would take the space occupied by longtime Parkville Market fav Twisted Italian. Although I was sad to see Twisted Italian go because it was great and was the only Italian restaurant in the Market, I was excited that the Market would have a Mediterranean restaurant, which is a new direction. I visited the Market with my family today and learned that Taste Mediterranean Kitchen opened a few days ago. The menu will feel familiar to Mediterranean fans. I ordered a (1) Platter with Hummus, Tabbouleh, Baba Ganoush, and Falafel; and (2) Chicken Cigars. Everything was good. The falafel had nice texture and tasted great dipped in a tahini sauce. The pita is the thin kind. The hummus, Baba G, Tabbouleh were all fresh tasting and on par with most good places. The chicken cigars were basically chicken shawarma slices stuffed in cool wraps. There were tasty too. The people running Taste seemed nice and eager to share their food. It felt kind of like a family place, which is a good thing. If only I could get one of everything! The staff were lovely, warm and helped us with recommendations that did not disappoint! We got the mansaf, they provided the warm yogurt separately which was lovely, and it was placed on a toasted Arabic bread and was absolutely delicious! lamb haneeth was SO good with the classic zahawig on the side, and the meat melting off the bone Kebeh was seriously UNREAL!! I don't particularly like kebeh in general but those were pieces of heaven stuffed with ground beef. And the cherry on top of this amazing meal was the lemon mint juice, if you've never tried it, do yourself a favor, you'll be coming back! Definitely recommend this spot for a huge meal or if you want to grab a bite, it will not disappoint! read more

Ran in to get something to take out for dinner in the frigid weather. Reviewed all the menus for Parkville Kitchen beforehand and picked this because of the Lamb Chops. Service was amicable enough and they took my order quickly. They are in the same spot as Twisted Italian was, so fond memories there. The order was ready in a short time. I had asked for hummus not salad but got some not so interesting greens lightly dressed mixed in with the rice. There was a lot of rice but the included sauce was a bit too spicy for me [my bad]. I am in town on business and had a late night of work that called for a yelp search for good eats after common restaurant hours. I also craved falafel at the time, which helped to narrow that search. Thankfully I found Taste Mediterranean Kitchen. It is located within a food hall that offered picnic benches and community seating inside and outside patio. I ordered a falafel sandwich/wrap. It was freshly prepared and the falafel was of great flavor and fried to perfection. I would have wanted more of the fixing to round out my sandwich but it ate more like a snack then a meal. What an absolute FIND! Middle Eastern food - I lived in that part of the world, so I know when I say this is excellent, among the top 5 I've had in the U.S. the shish tawook (grilled chicken pieces) is perfectly marinated and cooked. Mint lemonade that reminds me of the drink I fell in love with when I lived over there. The sweets are MUST TRY (I dare you to walk away WITHOUT baklava!!). Friendliest team. read more
