A friend recommended Siam Corner Thai Kitchen and we are so glad he did! We had an amazing meal. The staff was super friendly and three different waitstaff stopped by our table to make sure we had what we needed. Appetizers: Spring Rolls, Vegetable Dumplings, and Crab Rangoon. All three were tasty. The Crab Rangoon was some of the best we have had in Windsor. Dinner: Mango Curry with Duck Breast was a wonderful combination with just the right amount of spice. Crispy Chicken with Green in Love sauce with broccoli and bok choi. The kitchen accommodated my request to add eggplant and mushrooms. Yummy and very generous portions. Thai tea with light ice - so refreshing! Dessert: Thai style coconut ice cream over sticky rice and the Mango sticky rice were both delicious desserts. Sweet but not too sweet. This was a lovely surprise. In town on business and looking for a place nearby, decided to try Siam corner. Drove over and thought it was a takeout only place. Went inside to find a few tables and a very nice staff member who welcomed us in. The food was delicious. The quantity also exceeded expectations. We had the scallion pancake and veggie wraps t on start followed by green curry and pad Thai. Had more food than we could finish. What a charming, warm and friendly establishment. The staff were very friendly and made you feel right at home. The food was scrumptious! We were hungry missed the pictures of the summer roll and the crab Rangoon but they were both to die for! We both had wonton soup which was bursting with flavors but not at all overwhelming. And we shared a roti canai which also didn't disappoint. We shared a new dish Rama which we had with beef. The vegetables were all fresh and were cooked for our dish as opposed to sitting in a steamer. The dish was very well balanced. Dessert was mango sticky rice. I stopped in on my way home from travel based on yelp reviews and I was not disappointed. Crab Rangoon was excellent, spring roll fresh, won ton Soup was amazing with delightful baby bok choy. Main dish (Rama) was something new for me. The vegetables fresh and crisp and beef tender the peanut sauce was to heavy for my liking but that is simple a personal choice. Got a takeout meal. Spring rolls were prefab and undercooked. Meal added seafood. The veggies were completely undercooked (took dish apart at home and microwaved veggies for 2 minutes and they were still fairly raw but edible) as was the seafood (when 4 of the 5 muscles in the dish don't open during cooking...you'd think they'd notice and not serve... but they did). My partner and I were dropping someone off at the airport and wanted to grab a bite to eat on the way back home. I was so pleased to have found this hole in the wall in Windsor. I loved the homey feel of the restaurant and the friendliness of the employees. The decor was pleasant and it was clean. They place also became packed on a weekday evening by 6pm. We ordered the Drunken Noodle with duck, Siam fried rice with seafood, papaya salad, and Thai iced coffee. I enjoyed the presentation of the dish and taste of every dish. I love when the Drunken noodles are large flat rice noodles that are nice and chewy. The Siam fried rice wasn't too oily and had a nice mixture of seafood and taste. The papaya salad was nice and flavorful with some fresh chewy shrimp. On a side note, I was a little confused with the bathroom. They did not have typical signs gender signs, but of animated characters urinating. The bathrooms are definitely super small and not handicap accessible or larger person friendly. In town on business and tried Siam Corner for the first time. I ordered the chicken drunken noodles and cucumber salad. The drunken noodles were the best I have ever had before. They are spicy so be mindful of that when ordering. The cucumber salad was perfect too. The salad was fresh and a very nice mix of cucumbers, carrots, chilis and scallions with a slightly sweet and spicy clear sauce. Perfect balance. Service was quick and excellent. I was in the area for an appointment that just so happened to conclude at 11:45am. Took out Yelp and found this little gem. Not a lot of ambiance, but the staff are very nice and the food is yummy as heck!! I ordered the Won Ton Soup and the Pud See Ew. Finally tried this place! We ordered takeout and it took a bit longer than expected. First time trying the food we thought that it would be full of flavor based on what we ordered but most of it was pretty bland. Pad Thai was good and very fresh! Satay Chicken was very nice with the peanut sauce! Spring Rolls we're also very good but the Crab Rangoon had a very awkward taste to it and had a very strong "fishy" taste for crab Rangoon. My Thai Basil chicken had little to no flavor but was very spicy (I ordered it Hot) but was still hoping for a deep basil flavor. My husbands Green Curry was also very bland and flavorless which was a little disappointing for curry! I will definitely try again in hopes this might have just been an off night! read more

I'd give this more stars if I could! We randomly chose to have dinner here last night. The last time I went it was under different ownership and it was okay, but now it's WOW. Still the same tiny place - four 4-top, a 6-top and a few barstools. I ordered the Tiger Cry on the recommendation of the couple next to us. It's an appetizer of grilled beef marinated and served woth a dipping sauce. Careful -- the sauce sneaks up on you! For an entree, we had the Royal Duck, and I just say enough about it. Served with a VERY spicy tamarind sauce on a bed of mixed, flash-cooked veggies. (Yay for not overcooking veggies!) You will need the serving of sticky rice that comes with it to absorb that heat! The duck was perfectly crispy and oh so delicious. Service is super attentive but slow - if you're in a hurry, order takeout. They're just not staffed to move quickly. Definitely an authentic feel! Expansive menu with many Vietnamese dishes, but they have the classics. They even had my favorite, banh mi sandwiches. The pork and chicken banh mi's were excellent! I've worked in Windsor for ten years and have followed the progression of restaurants on this corner. They change on a regular basis, just like the falling leaves. Remember the Whistle Stop Café? Dorothy and Leroy's? A Soul Food Bistro? The latest to take up residence at the corner of Broad Street and Central Street is Siam Corner, and its a welcome addition to Windsor for both Thai food and Pho. They'd been open for about a month when I popped in for lunch this week. The place looks great and I was very impressed with the service as quite a few smiling and courteous folks checked on me from beginning to end. They have a very deep menu with ten appetizers (Vegetable Tempura is something you don't see a lot), six salads (how about Apple Salad with grilled shrimp, green apple, coconut, cashews, and red onion?), plus dozens of soups, phos, noodle and rice dishes, Vegetarian choices, Stir Fries, Curries, and Specialties. Quite a few of the choices are available in lunch and dinner sizes. They also offer quite a few desserts, bubble teas, and even "Extra bubbles" for $0.75 more. Things got off to a great start with a complimentary spring roll which was pretty good ! I looked at the Curry choices on the menu - there are six flavor styles and nine protein choices, so you Curry Heads can eat here for two months straight and never have the same dish twice. The flavor styles are ranked on "hotness" by one, two or three chili peppers. The singles are Red, Yellow, and Massaman, the doubles are Green and Panang, and the lone Three is Jungle Curry with galingale ginger, a sprig of peppercorns, baby corn, bell peppers, string beans, carrots, zucchini and basil leaves. Walked into this place after the train looking for a nice atmosphere and good food and the OWNER!!!! Of all people was very rude and racist to me off rip. IN WINDSOR CT?? I was going to buy something off the huge menu that I couldn't decide but her attitude was so shocking. I thought she was an annoyed teenager working the front desk. No way was this her first impression to someone she wants as a paying customer. Second time I came in I ordered and sat down with my headphones on and she decided to scream at me from across the register telling me my "ding dong" couldn't be there?? Later found out my Powerade I was drinking from outside wasn't allowed. But she didn't want to hear it. She couldn't come speak to me with respect and when I calmly told her I didn't appreciate her service. LOLLL she threw a whole fit in the back lying to her employees. She fed off the "drama" thst she could spin to villainize my naive black self. Subtle things just showed how they felt too. I said I was dining in and ordered a fries to start (breaking my fast) and they gave it to me in a to go plate!!! And as soon as I talked to her they refunded and gave me my money back. Interesting when three white customers came in they were smiling and nice. Like they should be with everyone. But im the problem for complaining?? She was confusing what she was telling me with how she was going about it. And that's where the problem truly lies. I followed all rules after informed and put my Gatorade away, and payed to sit down and catch a break. Finally made it to try this Thai place. We ordered a Thai tea bubble tea, wings, drunken noodle, and Pad Thai, which are some of our go to's for testing out a new Thai restaurant. Drunken noodle and Pad Thai were on point, both very flavorful. The wings were ok, but probably would have been better if it was tossed in the sauce. The bubble tea was disappointing. The bubbles were overcooks and it only tasted like sugar and milk, with no tea flavor at all. Based on just the food, they may have gotten 4 stars, but service and hygiene was questionable. A last minute toss-up between Thai and Indian - Thai won. Our hosts recommended Siam Corner as they had eaten here once before and loved it. We were not disappointed - all of our dishes were delicious. Since being in Thailand, one of our main tests is the freshness and flavors that the genuine cuisine offers - Siam Corner has it perfectly. We tried Mango Curry, Magic Eggplant and Drunken Noodles. The mango curry arrived in huge bowls, shrimp and chicken floating amidst large chunks of mango and fresh veggies separated this curry from soup as it was full of the delicious liquid that had both of our hosts beaming. My magic eggplant had vegetables that were truly, perfectly, cooked and the eggplant and mushrooms weren't just paper thin slivers but actually healthy bites that were bursting with flavor. I can not recommend this dish enough, it was a first time for me and I loved it. Hubby had the drunken noodles he loved them and I guess they were pretty standard as far as drunken noodles go. Walking my dog through the downtown area of Windsor I was surprised to find this restaurant there. I had decided to grab some take out one night for a lazy dinner, not wanting to cook. I had ordered a beef drunken noodle and pad thai with shrimp along with a taro bubble tea. While waiting for the order decided to take a seat at the bar and enjoy a Singha. The place is pretty easy to get to with a separate parking area away from the roads which made me feel safe walking around at night. The restaurant is pretty small; working with the small space that it has to split the area between a couple tables and the bar. Order was pretty easy to order at the host stand. Had the food at home ordering take out. The noodles and the pad thai was ok nothing too crazy. Decent amount of meat and noodles along with stir fry veggies. Came in late at night, about an hour before they closed, and I had one of the best meals I've had in Connecticut. Siam Corner is a hidden gem, and I'm kicking myself that I didn't go in sooner since I live in town. I was tired and hungry, after traveling on plane for nearly 14-hours. Glad I saved my appetite until I got to Siam Corner. I started with the Tar Kar soup with chicken. It was delightful and the right balance of sweet and savory. I also had the Papaya Salad, and it rivals every Papaya Salad I've had before. It was definitely spicy but just the right amount of spice for an authentic Papaya Salad. A Papaya Salad with no spice is not a Thai Papaya Salad. For the main meal, I had the Salmon Teriyaki and Basil Fried Rice with Shrimp. Again, the Salmon Teriyaki had the perfect balance of sweet and savory, and the Basil Fried Rice with Shrimp gave me the right amount of heat and spicy kick to accompany the teriyaki dish. I ordered a Taro Bubble Tea to-go as a dessert. I also got a to-go order of the Bulgogi and another order of the amazing Papaya salad for the husband who was flying in separately, later in the evening. I look forward to dining in again at this restaurant to try their other dishes. They apparently also deliver so for late nights at work or home, I know who we will be calling.
