There are a zillion praline shops in the French Quarter tempting visitors, and Leah's Pralines…read moredefinitely isn't the biggest or flashiest of them, but I'm glad it's the one I stopped in first! They have several flavors of individually-wrapped full-size pralines and offer boxes of three (and it's a beautiful box) at no upcharge. They also carry some non-praline items like local hot sauces and spices. All the items are priced incredibly affordably, especially compared to other praline and gift shops I checked out! I stocked up on a bunch of items here to bring back home as gifts and personal treats. The woman working behind the counter was lovely. She overheard me expressing interest in one flavor of praline and promptly cut one up for me to sample, and she also noticed one of the pralines she picked out for a box was broken and immediately switched it out for another one. Definitely make a stop here if you're looking for souvenirs or just to sample some famous pralines.

If you're looking for a great local candy shop in New Orleans, I highly recommend Leah's Pralines…read more It's a cool spot with friendly, helpful customer service that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The pecan brittle was delicious with the perfect crunch. The pistachio chocolate had a rich, great flavor, and the chocolate crisp was absolutely awesome. They also offer local honey and several other unique treats, so there's plenty to choose from. Another plus is the location--it's just a short walk from Bourbon Street, making it an easy stop while exploring the French Quarter. Definitely worth checking out if you're in New Orleans.
