Inconsistent with taste! Pralines taste different every time! Sometimes they are sweet , sometimes they are not! Sometimes they are good , sometimes they are not! U never know what you are gonna get!

What can I say? The candy is top tier. Delicious is an understatement. Can't visit New Orleans without stopping here for my sugar fix , and they never disappoint. Fast friendly service! Nothing bad to say.

Bernard's reminds me of the pralines that they sold at the Plaza. I was sad when they closed their location on the Westbank. My family was visiting from Charlotte for Mardi Gras and they wanted pralines; I brought them to the best place in the city! Employees "speak" when one enters. Pralines here are always fresh and hot. My go-to is the original with pecans but there are many other flavors to choose from.

We are visiting New Orleans and remembered the pralines from our visits in the 70s and 80s but could not find any except the normal boxed tourists ones downtown. While we were walking back to the hotel we passed this place and stopped in. How lucky! These pralines are great! They have different flavored pralines (banana, macadamian, almond....) and regular pralines with either chopped pecans or halved pecans, or even without pecans. We brought the pralines with halved pecans and they are great! Creamy, sweet and nutty! exactly what we were looking for. They are sold by the pound or individually wrapped. We also picked up a slice of praline covered cake which was also fresh and delicious. We are very happy to have stopped to enjoy these treats and bring some home with us to share.

I ordered 8 candies this is only 7. I also ordered original without pecans, these have nuts.

This is about to 8th time they have gotten my order wrong. I have sent pictures to Uber Eats as proof. I called the company again today after having just speaking to the manager Donna last week, she accused me of being a liar today even after I offered to send her a picture. She told me to bring the order in, I said no I had Uber deliver it because I don't drive, she then told me to ship it then. I said I'm giving you a horrible review and she threatened me. They don't follow orders, take accountability or care about customer service. Dumb Donna had the audacity to tell me I'm the only person who ever has problems with their order.

Hands down the best pralines in the city. I promise! They have two other locations as well. Such nice people too. They even has samples available when I went! They also serve king cakes, cupcakes, and other assorted praline topped treats. They sell pralines in quite an extensive array of flavors as well. I'm more of a praline purist, so original is my thing. However, you should try them all

Not only did we get praline samples we got a quick little overview and history of the establishment by one of their candy makers.

If I were rating atmosphere alone- 3 stars would be generous…read more I am rating product and service because adding "ambiance", would do those who work here and their product a disservice. It takes a while to get your order because of low staffing. That said, when you get it of course it's beautiful and tastes great. Sitting just around the corner from Bourbon St. and the hustle and bustle energy that you walk thorough to get here- walking in was disappointing. It's a large open space with seating- and it's QUIET. No background music. It gives late night diner vibes and honestly, that's too bad. Adding music, upbeat- doesn't have to sound like a club but music and having more energy between staff and customers would greatly improve the experience and I believe, increase business. If there were some Fats Domino or 90s R&B flowing out of speakers and staff were smiling, upbeat, dancing etc. it would give more "legendary" experience verses midnight diner vibe. That alone made me not want to come back. Not everyone wants to drink alcohol so stopping to sit for a well made artistic milkshake is a great option. The energy brings down the vibe and experience. Match the ambiance, service and vibe to your menu and 5 stars all day.

TL;DR - Despite how popular and what a tourist stop this is, you still HAVE to grab your beignets…read moreand coffee here, at least once. You do that, you may be stopping more than once. Longer: So I was a little hesitant to go to CDM, because it's such the tourist stop and the first joint anyone mentions when they say "beignet". But this was our first stop, morning of first day. The beignets are piled in sugar, they are warm, crunchy and crisp on the outside and soft, warm and delicate inside. I gotta tell you, the texture is just a little different than Cafe Beignet, the Four Seasons, and even the other CDM in the park we tried a few days later. To me, this is the best one. Now, as a coffee person, their black coffee is strong, rich, and a good compliment to the real show - the beignets. But I did not pick up on nearly as much chicory in their chicory coffee as, say, Cafe Beignet's version. Also, I have to let you know the other location in the big park serves a non-chicory version (in addition to NOLA chicory) that is head and shoulders the best coffee we had in New Orleans. But this is the joint. As a bonus, it's colorful, has consistently great street musicians, and has lots of walkable sites as you struggle to waddle around after too many beignets. Gotta go!

This is a must-do if it is your first time in NOLA. But are the beignets tasty? Only if you like…read moresugary powder over fried dough! Don't be deterred if you see a long line - that's for takeout only. The tables are first come, first served. Portions are quite large so good to share a plate (3 beignets) between 2 ppl. Service can take a while if they happen to be taking a break (that was the case for us). And you are expected to pay when the orders are delivered (cash only). Make sure to tip extra because it is one tough job.
