Shout out to my girl Brooklyn (Yelp elite girly) who has visited this establishment multiple times and persuaded my visit. I will say if you're deep into Nashville prepare to drive a little ways to reach it. But it was worth the drive. Staff here were super friendly and welcoming. Being this my first time they were willing to help me navigate what to get to get a taste of a little of everything. I ordered a kids tropical water ice 5/5. Definitely needed considering how hot it was outside this day. Philly cheese with steak....this right here was buss'n. They stuck their foot in this sandwich. When I mean it was worth the drive, IT WAS! The chicken fries were good and enough to split with 2 others. I prefer the steak over the chicken, but you can't go wrong with either. It's a Philly Thing definitely did their thing. I'll be back

Itz A Philly Thing serves quality Philly cheese steaks! I was skeptical that it would not be anywhere near as good as the best ones you can find in Philly, but I was wrong. I got my cheese steak prepared the traditional way to make sure my comparison would be fair. The service was amazing. One of the employees and I are from the same area, so we talked while I waited for the food. He also described all his favorite menu items that I can't wait to try next time. I'm so sad that they're no longer off Charlotte Pike, but the food is worth traveling farther west in Bellevue to get. Love: service (above and beyond, kind, helpful); Philly Cheeze Steak (soft roll, well- seasoned steak, huge portion); fries (fresh, crunchy, well- seasoned); Itz a Philly sauce (goes well with the fries)

Today we checked out IT'Z A Philly Thing for lunch. We placed our order when we arrived and waited 15 - 20 minutes for our food. First of all, the sandwiches are very large! We loved them, and there was plenty of meat and cheese inside the bun. They are really messy, though, so be sure to get plenty of napkins. We ordered extra sauces, and they were so good, but you do get a small amount sauce for the price. Even so, I would order the Philly sauce again, but my husband was not a fan of his ranch sauce. These were the best Philly sandwiches we have found here in Nashville, so if you are craving a great Philly be sure to give them a try.

Bad experience... Only go if you are willing to wait. It took about 70 minutes to get our food. It didn't appear super crowded but apparently there was a lot of people in front of us. The workers although kind were not hustling in the slightest. Upon ordering they told us they were also out of fries and cheese wiz. Not great, but we rolled with it. I changed the cheese selection when ordering to American. When we finally got our food there was no cheese at all which was extremely disappointing. We also paid extra for peppers on the sandwich and there was a minuscule, undetectable amount. They also messed up our egg roll order. At this point we just accepted it due to being so sick of waiting. This being said the egg rolls were good and the sandwich has potential. Overall the experience was greatly disappointing.

Always searching for a "true" Philly Cheesesteak and on the West side of Nashville there's a trailer called IT'Z A Philly Thing. The menu is not huge, but the flavors here more than make up for a smaller menu. I decided to try the appetizer 2-Cheeze Steak Egg Rolls...OMG these are exceptional. Honestly they are a meal in themselves and dipping them in the sauce provided is awesome. I opted for the Original Philly Cheeze Steak on a wonderful Amoroso Roll. You can modify the cheese along with the additional ingredients/toppings if you like and I went with the Original and added mushrooms. The sandwich was stuffed, the steak tender and flavorful, and while the Cheeze Wiz was a good option it's a bit salty for me and I go with Provolone next time. Overall this is a solid Philly Cheesesteak and well worth the drive to the East side of Nashville. https://itzaphillything.com/

HOLY MOLY! The Philly cheese steak is to die for!!!! The bread is so soft and warm and the cheese and meat are just amazing. It truly left me speechless.

This is going to grind some gears but.... the philly cheesesteaks from Itz a Philly Thing were better than the ones I've tried in Philly. Philly Cheeze Steak- Really flavorful. Seasoned well. Bread was soft. Chicken Egg Roll & Beef Egg Roll- the exterior was perfectly crunchy while the inside was juicy and packed with flavor. I couldn't pick which one I prefered cause they were both really yummy.

It was so incredibly delicious that I had to find the food truck and come back. I followed their instagram since there's no brick and mortar place and this was at their green hills location. I love that you can preorder it by texting them and it'll be freshly made and ready when you get there. I had a pesto pizza in the past I loved, but for this day, they didn't have it and recommended the four cheese pizza and they would drizzle pesto for me on top. So light and good!! Eat it fresh! Their menu changes depending on the fresh ingredients they have. This is probably one of my favorite pizza in Nashville!!

I know that's obnoxious to write but in my head I am still breaking news, not piling on. In any event, there's a reason why so many people have such good things to say about F&F. They're the real deal. Unlike many food trucks in Nashville, F&F advertised their location. So, on an unusually warm Friday night in late winter, I decided to venture over to Elmington Park and treat myself. Despite my best efforts, I arrived close to their closing time. I was afraid I was out of luck for this artisan goodness but the nice lady in the truck smiled at me, took my order and had me wait for what they were whipping up. As the sun set, I hung out in my car and waited for the electric buzz of happiness. After an appropriate wait, I buzzed, picked up my grub and headed home. Because I'm fancy, I poured myself a glass of cabernet sauvignon. Because I'm not classy, I left the pizza in the box rather than put it on a plate. At first appearance, my bbbq chicken pizza wasn't that large. This isn't a large meat-lover's from Domino's. This is artisan pie. The crust was fluffy, interesting in texture and flavorful (on its own) in taste. The pie, while small, was packed with flavor. I could tell these were choice ingredients I was eating. It was a bbq pizza so that means a bbq sauce base -- but to the bbq, cilantro was a present (not dominant) ingredient. It made each bite unique. This was not your usual bbq chicken pizza. Atop the sauce was a gouda/mozzarella blend that perfectly suited the sauce. Honestly, the pizza would have been good just like that. The marinated chicken (seasoned, not dry), bacon and onions added to the new spin on an old favorite. I enjoyed every bite. The fatty inside me wanted more but I can understand the restraint inherent within 'artisan.' That said, I wouldn't turn down a bigger pie. Like I said: classy.

I found myself over at Bellevue for dinner, 2 hours before my hockey game. I wanted quality food…read morebut not super carb heavy but also not something that could potentially wreck my stomach. After all, can you imagine having digestive problems while playing hockey? I love barbecue so I thought I'd try this place. I walked in and it wasn't at all busy at 5:32. However when I finished my order, the line was out the door. I asked the cashier what was good and the manager (maybe owner) walked over and I asked him. I wanted ribs or brisket, but needed a 2nd opinion. He said he would choose brisket because theirs is USDA Prime and he would put it against any other barbecue restaurant in Tennessee. Those are some bold words. So I ordered the brisket platter (fatty portion) with green beans and cinnamon baked apples. What I received was 3 good sized portions (1/2 pound) of fatty brisket. The meat was tender, melt in your mouth without an overbearing amount of fat clumped together. The bark was salty and very peppery. It was actually good enough to eat without a sauce. Speaking of, there was only one sauce on the table, so I used that. It was a sweet sauce, definitely honey-based but not overly sweet like other honey-based sauces I've had in the past. The thing is I love everything honey-related, so I would definitely buy this to take home. It was so good, I was scavenging for brisket fibers on my plate. So I praised the brisket but I think the shocker was the green beans. These were hands down, the best green beans I've ever had...ever. Salty, tender, peppery, with chunks of meat and fat, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Who would have thought that a side could be that good? Last but not least, the Cinnamon Baked Apples. I love baked/fried apples. Something about the tart and sweetness brings me back every time. The apples were soft, but not mushy. I would have liked them to be a little more tender and more slices of apples. I think there was more sauce than apples but nevertheless, they were great. Overall I'm glad I visited Honeyfire for the first time. I'm here often (near Bellevue) so I'll definitely be coming back again and again.
