I normally enjoy IV Deli Mart, but lately the service and food has been subpar. The cashiers are normally very rude, won't answer your questions and don't really care. I ordered early in the morning when no one was there, yet I have been waiting for my food for about an hour now. 40 minutes into waiting, A staff member came up to me asking for my receipt, took it, and never said anything to me or returned it: The food staff said nothing to me about it being remade or anything, I had to GO inside and ask someone what was going on with my food. Even then, they didn't tell me anything and just told me to grab a free drink to silence me. And honestly my experience is probably heavily dictated by being a black person at a white establishment because all the other white customers had their food on time and even received kindness from the cashiers. This is especially disappointing because it is Black History Month and I will most likely not come back again. The food itself has been bad, my last FIVE orders I have regretted. On top of dealing with micro aggressions, the food has lacked complete seasoning and warmth. If you want to pay for overpriced frozen food without any flavor probably because it's been rethawed too many times, definitely shop here. UPDATE: Not only did I realize on top of getting my paid food only after persistently asking, they gave me the WRONG order! I got a "warm" chorizo breakfast burrito instead and on top of that, the chorizo was SOUR! Never in my life have I ever had sour chorizo. I was craving some mango habanero chicken wings so I decided to come here. I got 15 wings for $15.99 and they were delicious. The wings were a good size with a lot of meat. The flavor was good with a nice little spicy kick to it. The lemon pepper wings could've used more flavor. It just tasted plain. I also got the "greasy gyro" and replaced the lamb meat with philly steak. The hooked up the steak and the gyro was a nice size. I definitely got full from this. I also got the buffalo chicken fries. The cashier and cooks are fine but there was an older woman just yelling and being passive aggressive to the young cashier that really irritated me . Its not professional at all to loudly correct your cashier in such a rude tone infront of customers . It made me feel bad for the cashier. This sandwich is a gloppy, sticky, disgusting mess. There's no way to taste the chicken because there is SO. MUCH. SAUCE. I was in on Valentine's Day 2023; I'm an Uber driver and i had an issue (long story), but the bottom line is that I found myself stuck outside of IV deli Mart with a car problem that prevent prevented me from driving my vehicle. Meanwhile i had customers waiting for me to come to their location. Not a pleasant pickle to find myself in. The three lovely ladies working here that afternoon were total rock stars and saved my day! And they did so without taking time away from the other customers... they appropriately tended to customers first and then in between, they did some ninja $#!+ to help me figure out my dilemma and i hope they read this because i am so grateful! Let's me start off by saying the food is great! The one star is for the bad customer service I received from Dana. I did an online order, printed my Receipt and had my co worker pick up my order. When she arrived the order was not even started. I recommended this place because of the food but little did I know the person working there was not cooperative. This place is BOMB!! I've been back and forth between vegan/vegetarian for 20 years and this spot is a hidden veg gem. I ordered the vegetarian buffalo chicken fries and they were DELICIOUS!! The price is totally reasonable and the food came out fast, fresh and hot! The customer service was great. Everyone (including kitchen staff) seemed so friendly and upbeat. I was helped by Dana who was super nice and helpful and explained the menu to me. While I was waiting, I walked around the store which is super clean and well lit. THERE ARE SO MANY GOOD SNACKS!! IV Deli in a nutshell: An alternative to Freebirds and another inexpensive College Food place that you can get at 2:30 am. It's definitely a little bit disgusting when you're sober but fine if you're turnt. Personally I find the Dirty Andrew to be better priced than the more expensive Buffalo Chicken Fries that everyone seems to rave about. It's just ranch chorizo with fries and optionally cheese and eggs, but has the exact same amount for Buffalo Fries. It can be a hit or miss on the crowds, because one time on a Friday it took almost 45 minutes of wait time to get food while another time took 5 minutes. Just be sure to start your order between 10pm to midnight on weekdays because they are surprisingly crowded during those times. Everything has a 50 cent surcharge, and another 50 cents if you use your card. The place is take out only. It's super divey but you can't expect much from a place that basically caters to college students. If you don't want to wait order it on SB menus. read more
