Tried Mesa Burger for Burger Week today and had to go all in. The Surf n Turf burger was stacked, juicy beef patty topped with shrimp that actually works together. Super flavorful, cooked right, and not overcomplicated. Just a solid, satisfying bite every time. The birria burger with the dipping sauce was the standout though. Crispy edges, rich flavor, and that consommé on the side to dunk it in took it to another level. It gets messy but that is kind of the point. Had to add a side of sweet potato fries too. Crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, and the perfect balance to all that burger action. They definitely showed up for Burger Week. read more

Gave this place another shot. I ordered a burger that comes with a slice of bratwurst, fried onion topping, bacon and BBQ. Unfortunately, the only thing I could tasted was black pepper and the bacon was undercooked. The black pepper was overwhelming. See close up of burger patty to see how much pepper they added. I'm surprised it took me so long to try Mesa Burger and now it's definitely going to be in my rotation of places to visit when in town. I got the San Andreas grilled chicken sandwich and it was amazing! The juicy chicken, arugula, goat cheese, garlic aioli, AND HOT HONEY work harmoniously to make every bite delicious. My husband got the smash burger and enjoyed it. Quality is really great. Unfortunately, our fries were on the more burnt/stale side especially the sweet potato ones. It was a nice spot after a good walk along the beach! We were seated quickly and the staff were very friendly. The burgers were a little pricey but are packed with flavor and ingredients. Wow!!! Best burger I've had in years! My party and I had various allergies and were Gluten Free, the employees were so kind, versed in what was needed, were very careful and had our burgers marked. They were so helpful! All our food was so delicious we almost didn't believe it was GF and had to compare to our glutinous companion! It was so soft and didn't crumble, the burger was juicy and flavorful, the chicken sandwich was so juicy cooked perfectly. The sweet potato waffle fries were insanely good. We all cleaned our plates and we thought for sure we'd have leftovers with the generous portions, but it was too good to stop! My friend said the best burger in the world in Santa Barbara. After this weekend, I found some merit to his claim. We came on a Sunday afternoon around 5pm. There was an ample amount of people sitting outdoors. There's a selection of beers available too. We got one burger for the three of us to try. Weirdly, it took almost half an hour to come out. The Montecito Burger is such a genius combination of toppings: beef patty / glazed mushrooms / single onion ring / arugula / grilled onions / goat cheese / truffle aioli. The goat cheese is creamy, the mushrooms are savory, and the arugula gives it a pop of freshness. The patty was perfectly medium rare. The fries was a star on its own, drenched in truffle oil and garlic. Alright, we'll excuse the long wait. read more

The grilled chicken burger was perfection to the last bite -juicy, flavorful, and clearly made with fresh bread and ingredients. You can tell they actually care about quality here. Very nice burger restaurant in SB. Agree with most Yelp reviews it is a little on the expensive side however this is Santa Barbara and it's close to the beach. The hamburger is a little above average. It is flame broiled. You can see the burgers get cooked while u wait through the window. I really like that. Very clean operation. Recommend the panko crusted onion rings only $1 more if u don't want the fries. I did try the fries as well and they are good too. I want to point out the hamburger itself is cooked medium which is slightly pink therefore if u prefer it cooked differently let them know. Pretty good burgers and fries! I ordered the Funk Zone Burger with upgraded Truffle & Parmesan fries. I enjoyed my burger but the sunny side up egg made it extremely messy with all of the runny yolk. The entire bun and my hands were soaked with yolk, and it was dripping everywhere. It was tasty, but I'd be lying if I said that it looked appetizing. If I were to order it again I'd ask for a fully cooked egg to avoid the mess. The fries were tasty too! Loved the chives. But a bit too salty for me. All in all a pretty good burger spot, I'd try it again, but I honestly felt as if I could make something nearly as tasty at home. Last night I ordered a take burger from Mesa Burger Santa Barbara. I was shocked when the bill came to $27.76 for a Mesa turkey burger with cheese and a fountain coke. When I asked I was told that their was a charge for the turkey burger and the cheese!! I have been eating Mesa Burgers since 2016 when they opened. They were great and reasonably priced and always delicious!!! But being charged extra for a turkey burger and cheese ??? Plus there was nothing on the menu signs for these extra charges. The Montecito burger is my favorite. I order it lettuce wrap style so I can indulge in their Parmesan truffle fries. I'm posting pics with bun and with lettuce wrap so you can get a better visual. It's HUGE! And the fries are served in a generous portion. I actually get 3 meals out if it. The Montecito burger comes with a nice sizes beef, turkey or veggie pattie, glazed mushrooms, grilled onions, onion ring, arugala, goat cheese, truffle aioli, served with signature fries or your choice of upgrades (I choose the truffle fries). My friend ordered the Mesa Burger and sweet potato fries which I have pictured below. It was so delicious she changed her mind about taking some home and ate the whole thing! They have indoor and outdoor seating with umbrellas, and heaters in the winter. The service is great and the food is consistently delicious and original. read more

It's just your same run of the mill burger place, except it costs 2-3 times as much. I ordered the mesa burger and it was fine, just not worth 15 bucks. I also ordered a side of onion rings and got a total of 5 of them. Workers weren't very talkative, although they got my food out pretty fast. You know, I actually really regret supporting this restaurant with my $21, that's what I make working a whole hour, just to waste it on this. I also quite disliked the entrance. I don't really feel like explaining it, but if you go here you'll see it, although I'm hoping this review discourages you from doing so. Nonetheless this burger place is no better than any other, if not worse. I suggest going to in-n-out if you're craving a burger. They're cheap, tasty, and have nice fresh ingredients.
