I purchased a Groupon for movers. After purchasing that voucher, I wasnt able to get a hold of the moving company. I needed to move that day, with no movers! I did a search and came up with Ivan's Moving. From the beginning, Jessica was amazing! She set up a time with her movers for that evening, even though it was already 2pm on a Saturday, they agreed to come help me. She said that since they were in Los Angeles, it could be anytime from 6:30 - 7:30pm. The guys called me at 5pm, telling me that they would be there at 6:30. I was so appreciative that they let me know. They actually showed up 15 minutes earlier than they said. Because I had to rent the UHaul for the job, it allowed my daughters and I to make a few trips with the easy stuff, so all they had to do was the big items, which included my very heavy, 140 year old, upright piano. They took our beds and desks apart for us, then put them back together when we got to my new house. They even built and attached my new headboard that I had just purchased for my room. They were very professional and quick! I cannot say enough good things about their service and how helpful they were. My moving drama was changed to a positive day! Thank you so much!!!!! read more

Worst moving experience of my life. I highly recommend using anyone but this company. First off, they showed up a day early and were 1.5 hours. The "owner", or at least that is who he claimed to be, was kind enough to wait and not charge us while we went and got a uhaul a day early. Within 20 minutes, he had asked 2 strangers, who were clearly on drugs, to assist him and his partner in removing our couch from our apartment. I asked the mover multiple times to please take care of our couches and wrap them. (we provided shrink wrap, 2 couch covers, uhaul furniture pads, and 17 rolls of tape.). When I went outside I see my couch being pushed from the second story to the first story of the building over the rail onto a dumpster with no padding what so ever. Then placed in the dirt. When I ran over I saw my couch covered in scratches and tears. When I confronted the "owner" he stated he did not do it and they were there. Thankfully we had taken photos of the couch because we were in the process of selling it and we showed him that those scratches, tears, and filth were not present prior to him moving it. He then blamed the 2 intoxicated gentleman who assisted him for ruining the couch. I informed him that they were not hired by me therefore if he asked them to help, then he is liable. We began arguing about the damage he has done to my $1600 couch and he refused to take responsibility and walked off the job leaving my furniture and belongs on 2 different stair cases and my couch in the dirt behind the apartment as well as leaving the dumpster 300 feet away from where it belonged. I called him to confront him about the damages and he refused to listen and or remedy the situation. When I called the company number, I left a voicemail and never received a call back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they will damage your belongings and not take responsibility and remedy the situation. I will be contacting the BBB about them. read more

After moving all of our stuff into the U-Haul truck, we realized that moving all the stuff into our new apartment would be far more troublesome than predicted. We called several companies for moving help, trying to get one as soon as possible since all of us had to get back to work the following day. However, each company seemed to have steep prices (that we couldn't quite pay with our finances and still live comfortably during the moving process) or weren't immediately available... After some discussion, we decided to look into the moving services that U-Haul advertised (which we were originally skeptical about since we thought we'd find better services on our own)... And the first one to pop up in the area we were moving into was Ivan's Moving Company. Their prices were certainly reasonable for the amount of help we needed, so we gave them a call. They answered immediately, were extremely helpful, and set us up with two movers - available to meet us within the next hour! Wonderful! They arrived promptly, were very courteous, and most of all: CAREFUL AND FAST! What took us 1 and a half days to pack into a truck (not counting the days of packing and cleaning), took them an HOUR AND TEN MINUTES (FROM ARRIVAL)! We had two bedroom's worth of furniture and boxes, moved up to our second floor apartment in a jiffy - and they even offered to go faster if we needed it! We were awestruck, really. And knew we were only going to get in their way if we tried to help. They were absolutely great! And we certainly can't recommend them enough!! Found Ivans through U-Hauls Moving Help and very glad we had them. They were great and strategically helped us get everything in the U-Haul. We didn't think everything would fit and we would have to make another trip later. But they did it!!! They got everything in and were awesome unloading it all too. They were very efficient too. Did it all - load - Drive and unload a 17' UHaul in 2.5 hours. Very thankful ... we booked 4 hours but happy they finished quickly since it was 90 degrees out today. I would recommend them and will call them next time we move. read more

Booked Ivan's Moving via movinghelp(dot)com which is a website run by U-Haul. I didn't rent a U-Haul for my long-distance move, but thankfully that doesn't seem to matter. Anyway, Ivan's Moving was one of the more affordable movers (I researched quite a few including here on Yelp), and they had several positive reviews on the booking site. About a week before my move, I called the contact number to make sure someone would be coming, and I got a nice lady who took my call and assured me that someone would call and show up by 8 am on a Sunday. On moving day, I got a call maybe a half hour before the scheduled appointment from Manuel who said he was on his way. He and his coworker showed up about 10 minutes early and got right to work. They were done in under an hour even though I technically paid for two, which is the minimum anyway. Though Ivan's Moving doesn't seem to be licensed as movers, I'd say the guys I got seemed to be on par skill-wise with the guys I've seen from a licensed agency. Granted, I didn't have a lot of fragile stuff and everything was pretty much already packed and ready to go. Even so, booking Ivan's Moving was worth every penny and I'm only sad that I didn't get to use them on the other end of my move since it was too far away. read more

I had them move my stuff n yes I was crazy disorganized but it was a really fast move but one of the men that was moving broke my sons piggy bank that he's had for years and what really bothers me about it was the guy didn't even say anything he just walked out like nothing happened he could have at least said something or offered to help clean it up he was supposed to b the boss it was very unprofessional will never call this company again the helper was very nice had good communication but I'm totally disappointed with the way this went read more

I have to say I am so disappointed with this company. I hired this them for packing and moving. They did a very good job on the packing and the moving, however during the moving they broke a light fixture which cost $200 to replace (and for which I was charged). I was assured multiple times that the cost would be covered. However, three months later I am still awaiting a response. After a call to the company (again) the receptionist said that she would relay the information to the manager but couldn't say whether they would even choose to respond and seemed entirely unconcerned about the situation. I hired them through movinghelp.com who you cannot call for resolution because they are merely a third party middle man. Hire this company at your own risk. It appears that they do not stand by their work, nor do they care to follow through on their obligations. read more

First time using a moving company and I can tell you that it was an amazing experience. My expectations were low, thinking that they were going to take their time moving stuff but it was the opposite, this guys worked hard for the whole 3 hours. They downloaded a POD and a 17' trailer. They showed up on time, very polite, recommended I get a bigger truck since the trailer I had planned on renting wouldn't fit everything. They continued to pack my kitchen while I was at Uhaul. They worked for 3 hours solid, and super packed the truck. Really wish I could take them with me to unload!! Last week I needed to move my daughter's things out of Gateway and into storage until she gets back to LA in a few weeks and into her apartment. Alone, I realized it would be better and healthier as well as much more efficient if I hired movers to load in my U-Haul truck and unload into a storage space. I had done all of the packing! They were the MOST reasonable in terms of a quote. The day of the service they were late and IMMEDIATELY called me to inform me, which I was simply happy about (I do not live in LA and I empathize with the traffic issues)...Anyway, it was worth waiting fro them not only because I had not realized we could not access the storage space until 9:30, but they were WORTH the wait for the following reasons: ULTIMATE PROFESSIONALS, VERY CAREFUL with our things, within 1h20 minutes we were DONE, THEY packed that tine storage space so well that I was able to bring the rest of the small items including her bicycle - all of which I thought I would end up storing in her car or dragging back with me, begrudgingly out of State. I will need to move her into the apartment late June and will NOT HESITATE to call Juan and Manuel to set up the time and day! They were friendly, had a great sense of humour, thankfully because my week had been challenging, and all around EFFICIENT! THANK YOU TO YOU BOTH for making that day SO WONDERFUL...it allowed for me to quickly finish up the rest, then even enjoy a restful evening with my daughter prior to her flight! Wow, these guys were outstanding! They moved in a 26 foot truck filled to the brim without a complaint. They were patient with my three kids underfoot and expertly moved 4 bedrooms AND and office worth of stuff upstairs for us. They treated our belongings as if they were ultra high end pieces (even though they are run of the mill things) and were very polite when we asked them for another hour. Highly recommend! read more

My wife and I moved from a 1 bedroom downstairs apartment to a 2 bedroom upstairs apartment in the same complex. My wife booked Ivan's Moving through movinghelp.com to help us get some of the heavier items up the stairs since none of my friends were available to help. Go figure. Anyway, we were scheduled to have them show up at 4:00pm. We got a call from Anthony and Manuel 15 minutes early and they were ready to work, dolly, tools and bare hands. These 2 guys can move. They were moving our fridge, bed, and couches with ease better than most moving companies I've seen. They were moving so fast, it made me question myself as a man. Why cant I move that quick? Time to hit the gym. But I digress. They were finished with everything we wanted them to move plus more with 30 minutes to spare. We paid for 2 hours, which is the minimum anyway. For anyone looking for help moving at a decent price, I would highly recommend this company. Hopefully these 2 individuals that helped us out. They were life savers.
