Edit to this review. Let me say that the food here is consistently good, and that the workers are typically pleasant. I would typically give this place 4*, but my experience on 6/4/18 drops it down to 1*...only because of one worker...her name is Sam. Service with an attitude. I've been coming to this location for the past 6+ years because the people working there are super nice...that is, until yesterday. Sam (a moody woman), was very unpleasant from the moment my wife and I stepped in the door. It wasn't crowded upon our arrival. Sam was just finishing up packing a customers order. My wife asked about the coconut shrimp this location had for a while. Sam acted as if we were bothering her and gave a smug look as she told us it was only for a limited time. Now this next part of my review is no big deal, but Sam turned it into one. I carry around the Carte Clam club card because I order food from here for my 76 year old mother from time to time. This location (and the Mukilteo) one have never had a problem with me using it (10 stamps to get a free meal)...even when my mother isn't with me. It's not the best rewards program, but at least it's something. Now the catch is, it's supposedly only for customers 55 and older. But like I said, I've never had a problem using it in the last 6 years. I used it again last night (redeeming a free meal) and the cashier (which by the way was super nice) was going to issue me another one. Then Sam comes running over and says "that's for 55 and over! I'll let you used it for the meal this time but i won't give you another card." I told her I've been using the card for the last 6 years and have been reissued one several times. I thought it was the manager that even did it. There used to be these two awesome guys that worked there. One was this older gentlemen...fairly tall, white hair, and wore glasses. The other was a younger guy. I used to see them all the time. I thought the older guy was the store manager, but could be wrong. Sam told me she doesn't know either of them and they are not her manager. Okay, fine...no problem. Then she goes to grab a piece of paper that states the club is for 55 and over...but she puts it inches from my face! What the F?!? Who do you think you are little girl??? That pissed me off to say the least. After waiting around for our food (which was not too long, as they are usually very efficient), Sam calls me up to pick up my order. Now, I have learned over the years that sometimes items don't get packed. I usually don't find out till I get home. This time, I checked right on the counter. As I was doing so, Sam gave me a nasty look. It was like, "I packed everything, it's all there" kind of look. But wouldn't you know it, my fish tacos were missing. Sam yelled at the cook, "I asked for fish tacos and you gave me fish n chips!" That is NOT the way to run your kitchen! Have a little respect for your colleagues! And, as the packer, you should check to see what you're packing. Don't place the blame on others. You are at as much fault! Take responsibility. Then Sam gets the tacos promptly, takes away the fish n chips that I opened and touched, and puts my taco order next to my bag. No apologies for messing up my order. This completely soured my mood for the next hour. If you're going to work in a customer service role, you need to learn some etiquette. Bring back those awesome workers you guys used to have. I'm hoping it was just their day off. Actually, just fire Sam. Everyone else working there yesterday was pleasant. read more

Ok why is there only two reviews? I've been going to this restaraunt for past 10 years. I've always had fresh hot delicious seafood. If you want to taste real fish and chips you have to stop by, my personal favorite is salmon and chips, but every dish is absolutly delicious. Restaurant is always neat and clean, I guess what I want to say if you haven't been to ivar's it's time to pay a visit will not regret. read more

Ordered an ice cream cone. It was great! I've had the regular food before on a previous trip but this time we were just walking in the park.

Ivan's seafood bar is a fast and delicious way to get some good fish and chips. I like how simple the menu is.

The food is good but not great. The view is great. The staff is fantastic, from the server to the bus woman. If the food and drink matched the lofty price, I'd be 5 stars. The view is just overpriced. If i had to order over, I'd skip the mule cocktail. The paella was good as was the tower appetizer, of scallions, shrimp, and crabcake. The crabcake was mediocre. The shrimp were yummy. The scallions were flavorful but too rich, with the bacon overwhelming the scallions. We just had better seafood earlier in the week. If we came back, we'd probably just order form the window than sit down at the restaurant. read more

Good food fast service. They food was fresh and not greasy. I ordered the seafood combo which comes with clam strips, shrimp, fish and fries. I also got clam chowder which was nice and not too potatoy. My boyfriend got a fish taco and a shrimp taco. He said they were good but the fish one was definitely better. The tacos come with tortilla chips which were alright. He ended up sharing my fries instead of eating those. He also thought the clam chowder was good. read more

Fries and fish were absolutely redunked in the fryer... will not be back. Period. I dont know what else to say.

I went with my daughter to pick up the order we called in, first they wanted to charge $15. more than it was suppose to be. they corrected it we thought. then when my daughter got her bank statement they charged her twice $41. some change twice. She called and they couldn`t correct it said it was too long. I will NOT return this place if they want to rip people off..... People should know there not Ohnest people. If a manager onsite can`t help its no good. the food wasn`t even hot. Go some where they appreciate your bussiness. read more

I ordered several items to go and when I got home and opened the bags I discovered that I did not get the Dungeness Crab Caesar Salad I ordered. Instead I received the crab cocktail that was much cheaper. I was still charged for the Dungeness Crab Salad even though the crab cocktail is cheaper. In addition, the crab cocktail was drowned in a cocktail sauce that was so spicy it drowned out the taste of the crab. This is the second time I've been charged for one item and received a cheaper substitute. Don't leave the restaurant without checking your order. The quality of the fish and the chips is average at best. read more

Not impressed at all. Service was average. But my disappointment is with there tiny skinny pieces of overlooked fish (see pic) and old fries that I didn't even want to choke down. I have to also mention that my clam chowder was pretty much all liquid. Barely any potatoes and did not get one worthy bite of clams. For $15 I would expect to get full and enjoy my meal! I grew up with Ivars, it's used to be awesome but that was decades ago. Been going downhill for a while but now it's just a rip off. Bummer read more

Today I had the opportunity to witness the greatest customer service! A coworker and I stopped in on our lunch break. The food was tasty, fast, and the people were the kindest I've had the pleasure to helped by. The place was packed yet the gal who took our separate orders remembered who we were and made sure our orders were brought to our table at the same time (not a call your # and come get your food like I expected)! At the end of our meal another nice gal picked up our trays and left towelettes and mints for us. I honestly can't remember the last time a sit-down restaurant treated me like today, let alone a fast food place. read more

If this is Seattle's best seafood, I'd be moving. I had the "legendary" dish and chips which were hopelessly bland and soggy. My coworker had clam strips an she said she'd had better at dairy queen. We have frequented this location for years. Although I believe it's changed hands; we used to enjoy the excellent service that manager Debbie provided. We are creatures of habit and most usually have the salmon and chips or the halibut and chips. I do enjoy their coleslaw but the shrimp cocktails (even at 99 cents) leave a lot to be desired. The clam chowder is superb, however on a couple of occasions, it was too thin and I sent mine back requesting a refund. If you're looking for fine seafood, this is NOT the place to go...try one of Ivar's salmon houses, but if it's a choice between fast food seafood or Mickie'D's...I will choose Ivars for its consistently good taste and friendly service. read more

5 stars for their superb customer service! I ordered online to be pick up the next day and the earliest time available was 12:25 pm. It's for team lunch at work so we have to pick it up earlier at 11:25, which I indicated on the special instruction. I got to the restaurant at 11:15 and they haven't get the order yet. I told the staff I ordered online and show him the printout of my order. He took the list and said wait on my car and he will bring out my order. In about 10 minutes he came out with my order. So happy with the service, my co workers was able to have their lunch on time, I am a satisfied customer. By the way their clam chowder is so good, just the right consistency not too thick, yum! read more

Even though eating in the car is getting really old, my husband and I always like Ivars. They have chicken strips for our 6 year old. The one thing that would be nice is another option for the kids meal side. Our kid doesn't like french fries, I know.... I don't know what's wrong with her, so unless we remember to bring an applesauce pouch for her, she's having ketchup as her side. read more

Being a tourist, this place was great for some delicious fish and chips. The fish was super moist and hot out of the fryer. Clam chowder wasn't as good as it was a bit too watery. I would have liked it a little thicker. I also didn't get much stuff in the chowder. It should be more chunky. read more

I needed a break after driving across the state so I stopped here for a bowl of chowder and a chance to stretch my legs. I've only ever been to the Ivars at the airport until today, and the food here was much better (even if it was fast food). The chowder was exactly what I was looking for. It warmed me up on a drizzly day and it wasn't too heavy so the rest of my drive wasn't spent in discomfort. I don't know if the food was healthy or not, but I think it was a lot better than most of the other fast food joints. read more

This location has a huge dining room area. The staff is friendly and the inside is very clean. Lots of parking available. They are always fast and the food is hot. Tonight is Ivar's 110th birthday, so if you order an entrée and purchase a second entrée you receive the second one for only $1.10 read more

I love Ivar's and have to stop in every time I'm visiting the PNW. This was no exception. This particular location was one of the older ones and they are obviously proud of that fact. The staff was very nice, joyful and welcoming. The manager came around the dining room and handed out extra napkins and Andes Mints to patrons enjoying dine in. There were obviously several regulars there for dinner whom she was familiar with. It was a very enjoyable experience after a long day of airports and a four hour drive in rush hour traffic. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite on my way up to Bellingham and have to say I was blown away by the employees at this Ivar's location. While standing in line waiting to order, I watched one of the three employees working very rudely walk out on her coworkers and leave her shift. The other two employees working didn't bat an eye and managed to bust out orders and serve a full restaurant efficiently. Hats off to these two valuable employees! My food was also delicious - my clams and chips was fried to perfection! read more

The staff was more awkward than friendly and seemed more focused on conversations behind the counter than the customers. I don't often go to Ivar's so I am not very familiar with the menu. I forgot that I had the option of getting coleslaw on the side with my prawns & chips and the person taking my order didn't even ask about any additions. It would have been a great opportunity for an up-sell. I really dislike their soda machine. It has one nozzle for every soda so whatever you get ends up tasting a bit like what the last person got. Not that great tasting... The restaurant was clean and quiet although busy. It was also nice to be able to have my order brought directly me to me instead of standing around awkwardly at the counter. They personalize each order with a name so you feel more appreciated. I only gave 3 stars because there was no salt at all on my fries and one of my prawns tasted a little off. read more

Have all Ivar's changed their menu. Went to this Ivars recently and the fish looks entirely different than usual--and the packaged tartar sauce was way different too. Look at the pictures of fish and chips on all the Ivar's reviews--golden brown irregular pieces of fish. Twice now we have gone to the Everett Ivar's and gotten pieces that are a darker brown color thanthe golden brown and the pieces are exactly the same, like they are machine cut fish sticks (do they make artificial fish?) They are dry and have no flavor and the sauce was more mayonnaise and very little relish. Customer service was nice--they take it out to your car--but I am wondering if all Ivar's are cutting costs by buying someone else's frozen fish sticks when it comes to the quality of the fish. They won't be in business long if this is a new cost cutting measure! read more
