Terrible is all I can say. Ordered fish and chips, a cup of clam chowder and a soda for $35. The clam chowder was from a can and tasted gross. The fish was fried to a crisp, more fry than there was fish and since it was way over done the fish was hard. French fries were soggy (could've fried those more). And the Mac and cheese was the worst ever, dry, no flavor and cheese from a box? Beware, the food isn't good here!

We were hungry and saw this place so figured Why Not? Overall it was exactly what we expected. The fish & chips, clam strips, fries and clam chowder all were fine. Nothing homemade here. No hand breaded or dipped fish. No hand cut fries. Everything was standard faire but I wasn't expecting to be amazed. Decor is simple. The girl who took out order was very friendly and probably to highlight of our visit. While they took my name she delivered it to our table and even followed up to see how everything was. She took it from a 3 to a 4

I had been wanting to try Monroe Fish and Chips since moving to the area, and I'm so glad I finally did this past summer. Our group placed a large to-go order and brought it home to enjoy. My Shrimp Basket was delicious and came with a generous serving of crinkle-cut fries. We also got a few sides of the Mac & Cheese to try--while some in our group found it a bit dry, I still really enjoyed it. Overall, this spot feels like a Monroe staple, and we'll definitely be back again this summer!

To start off, I am not a fish person, my kids and mother in law who opted to come here are. Upon entering this fine establishment you will notice very few spots to sit inside. The lady who helped us was super friendly and happy to help with any questions we had. When placing my order the one thing that caught my eye was the convenience fee they charge for all debit and credit charges. So if you do plan to visit I suggest bringing cash. If you plan to take your order the sign says 5% fee for bio friendly packaging. Often these charges upset me but luckily I had brought cash with me today snd we were planning to dine in. One of my boys ordered a kids fish and chips and he devoured it saying it was really good. My mother in law ordered a combo of fish and chips along with clam strips. To which was very much so to her satisfaction, she says she was very happy we visited this place. My other son who normally orders fish for some odd reason ordered chicken strips and chips kids meal, to which he says it was good. I on the other hand along with my wife wasn't all that hungry so we split a chicken strip and chips basket. I will tell you, often I come to a place like this and order chicken strips and they taste fishy, NOT here they had no hint of fish taste to my surprise. While my wife and I both agree more flavor on the chicken strips would of been nice It was also nice to enjoy chicken strips at a fish restaurant that did not taste fishy. Overall we would visit here again as long as we 1) have cash on hand, 2) can eat in the restaurant

10/10 everytime! Freshly made and great staff, don't miss out on this great place!

I come here at least 1-2 times a month and I live 25-30 min away, it is that good you won't regret ordering here highly recommended

    Comfy atmosphere.

Stopped in for a shrimp and fish combo today. Delish.... We loved it. Fast friendly service like no other.

My carry-out experience tonight was great. I was in and out. Got the combo basket with two pieces of cod and shrimp, lots of crinkle cut fries, cole slaw, lemon wedge, tartar sauce, cocktail sauce for $16.98. Glad the fish was very moist. Even though it was not the classic style beer batter and fresh cut fries like places on the coast, it was still delicious and I ate everything. The clam chowder was a small size cup for $6.50 it comes in one size. It was very creamy and yummy with a decent amount of potatoes and clams. I appreciated how they packaged it separately in a brown paper bag. It was a decent weekday dinner so I didn't have to cook. Would come again and get the same thing or try their fish tacos. Just a small fish and chips place with a simple menu for a good take out lunch or dinner. Cute little dining area with several tables. The service was courteous and prompt and they offer a 15% coupon for your next visit.

Nice hidden gem in Monroe! If you like fish & chips, give them a try. *dear yelp, we don't have time for long reviews, we just want to know if we'll get food poisoning or not. **yelp wants longer reviews... Nice local place - very limited menu from what I thought it would be. Service was fast - food was average fish & chips.

Cute place but fish and chips were a bit too greasy. Self serve, no table service. Probably will not return.

The restaurant is cute. The staff was nice. The food was good, but it's frozen fries and fish. I could do that at home.

Spicy popcorn shrimp and smoked salmon chunks appetizers, and the large front table by the window, were the highlights. To be transparent, my dad loves oysters, and the happy hour oysters were as expected. My son's muscles entree was good - but we had to drain out the sauce from bottom of pot, into the lid of pot, to enjoy the sauce with the cold sourdough bread that came on the side. Sauce was tasty, but overall it was too much work to get to the sauce, and I was disappointed the bread was right out of the bag or not warmed at least. I ordered the Cesar and added salmon. The Cesar dressing was definitely mayo based, but did contain anchovies, so likely homemade, it had potential, but it tasted mostly like mayo. If you don't love mayo, do not get the Cesar. My mom's Louie salad looked pretty boring, and she was disappointed (which is unusual). My son's girlfriend ordered fries and kids butter noodles - kids menu was great!!! Overall the food was just meh. The service was speedy, but our server had little patience for newbies with a couple questions. Since there was an hour way, we ended up at a little restaurant just up the hill, a place with a cocktail sign hanging out front, and their hummus looked homemade amazing. Great choice in beer on tap too. Just saying.

I hope I get to visit again someday!

We ordered an abundant spread, and every dish impressed. The clear crowd favorite was the Singapore black pepper prawns - fragrant, perfectly spiced, and completely addictive. That black pepper sauce was hands down the star of the meal: rich, peppery, and deeply flavorful. It was my favorite and could easily be eaten on everything. The Mala curry crab and XO crab were both outstanding; layered with complex, indulgent flavors. The Thai green chili clams and saus mentega clams were vibrant and comforting, while the crab fried rice had generous morsels of crab folded throughout the dish. We also really enjoyed the Indonesian chicken wings, which were crispy and flavorful, and the stir-fried vegetables, which added a fresh, well-balanced contrast to the seafood-heavy menu. Everything traveled well, was thoughtfully prepared, and made for an unforgettable catered meal. If you're considering catering from Marimakan Crabhouse, I can't recommend it highly enough. Get the black pepper sauce! Amazing from start to finish, and Chef V or Rachel is lovely to work with.

I like it better how the fish fried w/ panko instead of old fashion batter. I like it better than Proper Fish; but again idk if thats truely comparable. It was rainy and we had the doggos so we had order the foods to go and ate them at the car. The sevice was fast and the two ladies working were super friendly. What we got: Alaskan cod 4.5/5 Nicely fried and the fish good as is without any sauce. Halibut 5/5 This was our favorite out of the two; realy nicely fried and the fish is just so flaky and taste great as is. Onion ring 5/5 My wife love onion rings and she said this was the best so far; it was perfect amount of batter and nicely fried as well. Both fish were great; the fries......its alright. They mightve fried them a bit too long; we still finish them tho Including tips; i paid $80 for all three; but i wouldnt mind paying knowing that its gna be great! We will be back for sure and tried their other offering; specially when the patio area is open; and i hope they are consistenly good.
