It was described on the menu as having Marinated grilled chicken tomato, fresco & avocado. It didn't have any avocado at all. It wasn't bad, but it needed some type of oomph. I did add some of the salsa they gave us to help with that. With my tacos was I was given a choice of beans or rice. I went with the refried beans, which were okay. My fiancé had Choripollo, which was Pollo, chorizo, & cheese sauce served over rice. He found 2 pieces of hair in his food. So that was that. My friend had Camarones Diabla, which was described as Pan-seared shrimp, in a spicy chipotle sauce. Served with rice & Garlic bread. His dish came with about 8 shrimp and no garlic bread. My other friend had a chicken burrito. He said it was good. Eh. Proceed with caution I guess. It's very hit or miss.

Even. An. Apology. The chicken enchiladas were ok, but nothing special. The salsa verde tasted good, similar to Herdez (which is pretty good for a bottled salsa). Unlike other Tex-Mex joints and ALL restaurants I've been to in CDMX and central Mexico, rice and beans weren't included.

I've been a 'fan' of Ixtapa Lunenburg for going on close to 3 or 4 years now. Midweek visits are a lot more fun than weekend visits, and the service is always personable and spot on! We go almost weekly for 'Fajita/Rita night'..usually on Tuesdays or Wednesdays..The chicken/steak fajitas are a must try for anyone looking for hot, fresh, and sizzling! Always a huge portion for two people. Their salsa is great, as is their newest addition, freshly made guacamole..I keep pushing for 'add ins' to this dish, such as fresh fruits and nuts ( seriously..don't knock it till you've tried it!) I have yet to try a dish at Ixtapa that I haven't liked. Even their 'buffalo wings' are great..tho not served as you would think..hot sauce and ranch dressing is served on the SIDE as opposed to covering the wings..which are hot and served nicely crispy! read more

Do not use their take-out service in Lunenburg!!! The quality of food they give on take out is horrible...rice is hard pellets, we said no cheese on both burrito's & of course they put some type of rubber cheese on one of them! The cheese was so thick & rubbery that it peeled off in one layer - very unappealing! The bottom of the burrito was very oily so I ended up just scooping out the beans & rice pellets - other burrito had just veggies & I ask HOW can you mess up just veggies & rice? Ixtapa did! Overall a waste of $$$ for unappealing food...They gave us a bag of chips but NO salsa! We threw the chips outside for critters & even they wouldn't eat it! I did leave a message on Ixtapa's website & they wrote back with a "form message" basically saying...yeah, whatever. Go back to Ixtapa - no way! read more

Roaches. Unfortunately tonight we door dashed. We have eaten there many times. This time I was pulling the cilantro and onions out the container and a live roach fell out of my hands. We called complained and we were told door dash compensated us. But door dash is only giving us 21.00 back and refusing to give the 42 dollars back in gift cards we used with the order. Really unfortunate but won't be eating here again. Ixtapa and door dash got 42$ from us and we got food with roaches. read more

I used to love this place when it was new... But I had a nasty experience recently so I'm never going back. They made me an ixtapa chicken burrito to go. I get to my work and open it up to find they sprinkled moldy cheese all over my burrito, the sour cream smelled bad and the chicken (which is supposed to be hot) was cold and warm in certain areas. Easily one of the best Mexican restaurants around. Food taking way too long? They'll hire someone to sing for you. Have young kids? Binky the clown comes in every here and then. The only complaint is the portion sizes on some dishes. Otherwise, its amazing. read more
