Was I expecting to find excellent New York-style pizza in a small suburb of Atlanta? Not really, no. But I did. Izzy's is in an unassuming strip mall next to a gas station and is decorated in a style of, "New York means lots of pictures of Derek Jeter and Yankees Stadium" with some generic window decals of pizza that don't actually reflect their product. Nothing from looking at it tells you the experience is going to be anything other than ordinary. Then you get the pizza. The dough is just thick enough to hold the ingredients without making a giant mess but it still satisfyingly floppy and foldable. It is not swimming in grease but every bite is wonderfully flavorful. Plenty of toppings to choose from and they put on just the right amount. It even re-heated very well. Just a great pie all around. One of the best NY pizzas I've had. read more

Absolutely delicious !! My kids and I are very picky when it comes to pizza . Usually the kids just like the popular pizza chains. I have tried to find other New York pizza places but have been highly disappointed . After searching through Yelp I decided to give Izzy's NY pizza a try . I'm soooo happy I did . This my new favorite pizza spot. My husband is a pizza connoisseur. He could eat pizza every day. We were driving down Lawrenceville Hwy and spotted the sign for Izzy's Pizza and quickly made our way into the parking lot. I wanted a Supreme but I didn't want bell peppers the owner was nice enough to allow me to select another topping. The pizza was sooooo large we has to put it on the back seat. The sauce was just right... Not too bitter... Not too sweet. The cheese was perfect! The toppings were delicious and plentiful. My husband has now made this our go to pizza spot. Quick, delicious, and very fulfilling. Quality food and lovely service. They also speak Spanish, so that's great. They offer lunch menu specials which is what I ordered -- the calzone and drink. You can select up to 6 toppings for the roe ice which is a great value! I will definitely be back again! It's one of the best calzones I've had in awhile. read more

I love supporting local businesses. Especially since it's so close to home. I haven't had a good slice of pie since I left the north. So I was super psyched to finally give Izzy's a try. They definitely did not disappoint! The crust is super thin and crispy. The sauce wasn't too sour and it wasn't loaded with cheese. My favorite is definitely the bbq chicken. But my husband and kids loved the supreme. The whole pies come in 4 sizes. Personal(10"), small(12"), medium(16"), and a large(18"). They also have pasta that I have yet to try. The service was very friendly and attentive. You place your order at the counter, pay, and take a seat. They'll bring it out to you. Izzy's is definitely a nice little gem. BEST NY HANDS DOWN!! I am from NYC, and since I moved, have not been able to get authentic NY pizza. Slices are the right size, toppings are on point! They must have used some NYC water on the pizza! Wasn't able to taste the food because the service was not good. Went on a Friday night--it wasn't packed, but maybe they had a lot of phone orders. I stood at the register for five minutes and no one even greeted me. I ordered a large salad, small margherita, and a large cheese. The salad came out quickly enough--but after 20 minutes, someone came over and asked what we had ordered. There was a lot of talking and activity in the kitchen, another angry customer, and when I approached the counter for a status update, they told me my pizzas were in the oven. Maybe one was, but I saw them put the other in ten minutes later. When I asked them why they'd told me that if it wasn't true, they apologized. I asked for a refund, which they gave quickly and with no argument. Really a shame--we like to patronize small business and this one is four miles from us. read more

They're full pizzas made to order are absolutely delicious, however I would stay away from the slices as the toppings are barely cooked and bland. I do recommend the buffalo chicken pizza (order the whole pie). read more

Second time here. I was drawn by the cheesy greasy flimsy slice we all love. This time around ingredients were dry. This place exceeded our expectations! Extensive menu, friendly staff, clean establishment and nice atmosphere. We stumbled upon this place one day after my daughter's soccer practice and tried a slice of pepperoni Pizza, now my whole family is addicted. First of all, I love the location of this pizzarea. Its a hole in the wall! Secondly, the inside of this place is so New York. The place is family owned and run. The young man at the front was personable and happy to help. Now on yo the pizza, delicious!!! We went simple and ordered a small pepperoni pizza by phone. We ordered take out for our first order. I got there a little early and the pizza wasn't out of the oven just yet. They had some awesome latin music playing, which my 3 year old decided to dance to. The place was clean and it had a very happy and friendly atmosphere. Now on to the pizza. It was a hot and the cheese was melting all over the place and it was a little greasy.......just how I love it!!! The cheese was cheesy and the pepperoni was on point. I was very skeptical at first "oh great another NY pizza place" my brother was the one who actually put me on to this spot. He told me this guy had a passion for his pizza and really made sure it was just as tasty as a real NYC slice. I went in with low expectations because come on lets be real how many NY pizza places do you see and they suck!! Izzy's though man oh man blew me away it actually tasted like a NY slice. Finally! Real, authentic New York pizza can be found south of New Jersey. This is the real deal. There is room for about 40 people at simple tables. I'm not sure if they deliver but of course you can call in for take out. The owner is from Long Island so he knows what makes a good pizza. The toppings are fresh and the meatballs are out of this world. My new favorite is the Margarita pizza. Mozzarella, sliced fresh tomatoes and fresh basil on a crust that is crisped to perfection. Closest pizza you will find to NJ style pizza after my first bite I felt like I was back home. I'm VERY picky when it comes to pizza but Izzy's is by far the best I've had in GA, period. I ordered a small sausage and marinara pie crispy. That's the northerns trick, most pizzerias can't give u a crisp crust and extra sauce.
