I love their NY pizza! Exactly what I was looking for and it is nearby my house. The staff are friendly.

I'm not sure how this place has so many stars. The food is tasteless and they seem to use their same bad pizza sauce as a marinara and dipping sauce. I am from New York State and I have never had food this bad at one of their pizza joints. Obviously they had a bunch of friends and family give them five star reviews when they started up. This place is hands down delicious. This was my second time coming and it did not disappoint....again. As a pregnant lady we have our cravings and today I made the trip just to come to them. It was well worth it. I got the lunch special with 2 slices of pizza and a drink I added 6 lemon pepper wing. The pizza was nice and fresh and the wings were a good size and well seasoned. I will admit, I was a lil skeptical upon arrival at Izzys.. we ordered an extra large pizza with pepperoni and sausage.. and let me tell you.. CLOSEST TO NEW YORK STYLE PIZZA IN THE AREA. My family is from New Jersey and is very particular about their pizza.. This place nailed it! The crust is the perfect thin crispy crust and huge slices. Great pizza with fresh ingredients. Crust was both slightly crunchy and chewy, which shows that they know what they're doing. Sauce tastes freshly made, not from a can. Some nice, unusual ingredients too. We liked the eggplant. 18" large for around $16. read more

Ate here for 1st time last night 11/30/19 and I've lived in this area for over 10 years. The girl at the register was really nice. We order 2 medium pizzas one was wrong but it was just miscommunication and they guy asked what was wrong with it so he'll know next time to make sure it's right which is definitely a A plus in my book. It was no biggie and didn't want to wait for it to be remade and it was still delicious !!!!! We also order garlic knots also delicious!!! My kids loveeeeed their pizza and they are picky about eaters they were looking for more LOL! Definitely will be back for more!!!! By far one of the best pizza's I've ever had since moving to Georgia from New York. New York pizza in my opinion is definitely one of the best pizzas out there and this place does not disappoint at all! The staff is super nice and friendly and the pizza is huge and delicious! Came here for dinner with a group of friends. The service was amazing (Miguel was a great host and made the experience great). We ordered a large vegetarian pizza which was amazing. I recently visited Izzy's for the first time with my family. What I enjoyed about the restaurant is that it is local, and not a chain. The food was really delicious! Since we had a big group, we had different kinds of pizza. My complaint is that they lost my mom's order, then made the wrong food, and by the time she received her food, everyone else was through eating! It made for a very bad experience. What's worse is that they did not apologize, nor offer to give a discount or anything to make up for it. The original server left the restaurant while she was waiting on her food, and no one ever come back to make sure we were ok. I had to walk up to those cooking the food twice and ask for my mom's food. However, when she did receive her food, she said it was good. I know it is hard to juggle multiple orders when you work in a small cooking space, however, when you run a business, it is critical. Despite our experience, the food was good, and I would eat there again if I was in the area. read more

I am a fan of this place. We ordered a medium (16")pizza with meatball as the topping. The pizza was huge for a medium and was very good. The crust was thin, but had the right amount of chewiness with the perfect amount of cheese. I would definitely come back, because I'm not a fan of meatball on my pizzas. Add that to all the New York Imagery, the "Ex Mellow Mushroom pizza dive" ambiance and the abundant Dollar Tree Easter decorations, and the place is just eat up with unique and interesting atmosphere. I stopped off for lunch and ordered the medium calzone (asking what the difference was, I was told "Medium is for one person, large is for two)". I'd been here under a few different names going back to Mellow Mushroom, and it's always been a safe bet. I didn't know exactly what to expect from Izzy's, but what I got was a delicious calzone and an ice cold Yuengling brought out in a fair amount of time. I took some time to write this review because... I've been trying to remember if I've had a specifically BETTER calzone. After the better part of a week, none come to mind. I can't think of one better, so for the moment, this ranks as the best calzone ever. This is really about a 4.7, rounded up to five because one thing would have made it better - if the ice cold Yuengling had been on tap (or any other quality beer, really) instead of the bottle, but sadly no draught beer. read more

As a first timer, it was a little confusing. I saw tables inside and I wasn't sure if you sit down or go to a table. We sat down and grabbed our own menus. Then realized, people were ordering in the front. (None of the employees told us this and the sign by the register that says "order here" is very small) The young waitress took our order and we got drinks from the drink refrigerator but then realized afterwards, they have a separate drink machine for fountain drinks with Styrofoam cups. Again, we were not told this by the young lady taking our order. That would have been helpful. We ordered a buffalo chicken personal pizza and it was delicious. It would be nice if it came with bleu cheese crumbles or a side of ranch for dipping. I ordered a calzone to go and after we finished our meal we sat and waited until I finally spoke up and asked the young lady if she could check on my to go calzone. She said it was already ready...So, we ended up waiting a little longer for no reason when the food was already ready. Overall, this spot is a little confusing as a first time diner. None of the staff seemed to want to welcome us or explain how things work. Everything is done at the front just FYI!! I travel all over the world in my job and love when I am in NY and NJ to get great Italian food. I have looked around and this place is as close as it gets in Atlanta. Their Stromboli and Calzones are amazing.. the dough + that awesome sauce + the cheese they use just make me want to forget about calories and enjoy! Even the way they season their sausage, ham, and ground beef is just awesome. And, even if you only eat veggies.. I am sure their dough + sauce + cheese they use will go great with veggies.
