I am a repeat customer. I went in to trade my car. The new car was at top price. Dealer would not come off of msrp. The value for my trade was at 5k undervalued. Dealer did every scummy "salesman" trick - and insulting tactics. I ordered a special build, they delayed ordering to get a cheaper price so they could make a profit at my expense. My father bought a truck from here and they just had the worst customer service. Sold them a platinum service plan that really doesn't cover anything so I don't suggest you buy any extra shit from these people once you buy the truck and you're out the door, they do not give you customer service. I recently traded my 2022 Toyota Tundra V6 for a 2025 F-150. I'm very happy with the new truck, but extremely dissatisfied with both the Toyota and Ford dealerships owned by J Allen Ford in Gulfport, MS. My experience over the past year has been stressful, and I hope J Allen will hear me out. * May 2022: Bought the Tundra for $55K, which included a $5K market adjustment. Few of the dealership's models had BLIS and cross-traffic alerting. I was pressured into buying an $800 prepaid maintenance plan with no clear explanation of its value. * Mar 2023: I was involved in an accident while backing out of a parking spot--another car hit my trailer hitch. A $25,000 lawsuit followed. BLIS and cross-traffic alert could have prevented the accident and lawsuit. I used all safety precautions available. * Summer 2024: I learned from the news that my Tundra would need an engine recall. * Spring 2025: Toyota finally provided a recall solution. I followed up myself--no dealership initiative. * April 2025: I asked for a written timeline concerning the engine swap. I was provided one from Adam Cuevas. I was initially scheduled for June 23, then changed to July 1 without explanation. * Jun 26: I traded in the Tundra. J Allen's first trade-in offer was $3K too low. After negotiation, I got a fair deal and am happy with my new F-150 (which has the safety features I wanted). Finance transferred my maintenance refund during the sale, giving me a 3-year prepaid maintenance plan with Ford. I was never told I'd lose money on the Toyota plan if I traded in early--this needs to be more transparent. * Jun 27: I spoke with Toyota's, GM Tristan Guthrie, about losing $436 on the unused plan. Though legal, I didn't understand the plan's value or limits. It felt like I paid for the "free" Toyota Care offered with all new vehicles and I never used it once. This dealership will try to sneak service plans on your vehicle without you knowing the sales guy does not know how the warranty's actually are and will lie to you to sell you a vehicle. Their lifetime powertrain warranty is only 15 years don't let them tell you otherwise I would not recommend this dealership at all!!! I bought a 2025 Tacoma that was only supposed to be 54,000 and added the negative equity on top of my loan should only it 65,000 once I got the Toyota app. I had a loan for 80,000 that I did not agree and have been fighting it for two months save yourself the time and your pocket. Exceptional!! From now on, I will drive to Gulfport to J Allen, from Hattiesburg to do business with Toyota. This will be local dealership. (Btw, Hattiesburg has a Toyota dealership, if you catch me). I received such urgent care on a recall on my Camry when Hattiesburg wouldn't take the time to even care. Jaylen (sp) was very respectful and had my timely needs in mind!! I was planning to leave on Monday on a 9 hr drive and the brake system malfunctioned (the recall) on Friday and he went above and beyond to get my car fixed and me back on the road when Hattiesburg (for the second time) had no time for me and wouldn't even TRY to work me in. I made an appointment, two weeks ago, to have my 2019 Malibu checked as it has a loud thumping sound coming from the right rear axle. I brought my vehicle at 8:15 am, this morning, and told that I would get a call around 10am to advise me as to what the problem was. I called back at 11:55am and was told that i would receive a return call around 1:00 pm., which did not happen. I called back at around 2:00 pm and was told they hadn't finished diagnosing my car! Being a prior Goodyear store manager, I found this to be a weak excuse, at best. I finally told them to have my car ready for me to pick up. I wasted a whole day, of my personal leave time, from work for no reason! I would not recommend J Allen service center to anyon!! Maybe it's because the necessary work may have been covered by the Allen Certified Warranty! read more

I bought a Highlander from them 2 years ago, all the way in Texas, and everything about that transaction went beautiful... well, unfortunately, that car got totaled out a year later, so of course I went back to J Allen to get my replacement car. Everything went pretty well, at first, but then they screwed up my registration and since it was late, there was a $300+ fee. I spoke with Nicolette about everything and she assured me to go ahead and pay the late fee, because the dealership recognized that the lateness was their fault so they would refund me... It's been over 6 months, and I've been texting constantly with Nicolette, trying to get my refund, and I keep being told "Oh it's coming", "Accounting messed up, but it's on it's way", "The CEO is reviewing it". It's all just a bunch of lies. I'm so frustrated and disappointed that someone could do business like this. I have it all in writing that they admit they messed up my registration and should pay that $300+, and that they had sent the check, and all this stupid stuff, but it's all just lies. read more

Being active duty military, I have been to Toyota dealerships all over the United States and this is by far the worst dealership I have been to. Firstly, my car broke down on Monday 17 June and I had an appointment for 0900 on 18 June. I knew it had to be towed because it was dead so I called and asked the dealership at 0700 on the 18th if I should have it towed in or if Toyota can get it. Toyota said they would be able to get it. WRONG. When I came in at 0900 for my appointment, they requested I get it towed. 2 hours later the tow truck finally gets my car to Toyota (Which was across the street). after waiting 2 more hours (4 total) my car still hasn't moved. I asked for an update or a rental or anything. I got nothing but a shuttle back to my house. 5 days go by with no update on my vehicle. I had to threaten going to corporate to get a response. My alternator and battery went out due to lightening shock but my insurance company needs something from Toyota saying lightening caused the issue. I've talked to 2 different managers about this and the first said they would get back to me after lunch. That was yesterday and nobody ever reached out to me. Today I talked to another manager that said they would email me the requested documents in "10 minutes". I never received anything. I tried calling back 2 hours later to get ahold of somebody and I can't get a hold of anybody except the operator. This place is poorly managed and poorly ran. I'd drive to New Orleans before I brought my vehicle back to this dumpster fire. They don't take care of their people. This is all on top of them charging me $1300 for a $300 worth of parts and an hour of labor tops. Since my insurance company needs diagnostics to prove it was struck by lightening , they are charging an additional $1k to run those diagnostics, that should be free anyways. read more

Personally i've attempted to purchase two vehicles from here. I don't know if it's because i'm young but they didn't take me seriously at all, said if i wanted what i was wanting it was gonna be upwards of $800 a month. I shopped around and was able to secure a nice jeep from honda without any of the hassle toyota was giving me. A year later i wanted to upgrade they said i was looking at my note going up around $400 for a 30k car which made no sense to me so i went right back to honda and got a brand new 2024 accord and my payment stayed the same. I secured financing through honda with a low interest rate , tell me why you guys couldn't have done the same thing? I wanted a camry vs an accord but none the less it's brand new and they treated me way better than you guys did. read more

My Tacoma battery died. When I recharged, there were numerous computer generated alarm/fault messages on the dashboard. None were real I knew. I tried a few things and called Allen Service and told them what happened. They understood fully. Scheduled me for a diagnostic. Thing is, turns out this is a very common problem. All over the net. Simply disconnect the negative terminal and wait 15 minutes. Reconnect. It worked. They obviously knew how to do this and could have just told me over the phone. Wanted some bucks. Watch out for these people and in fact for all service depts. read more

Definitely not recommended. Especially if you have an expectations that a salesman will follow through with a deal/offer. I had the, in hindsight, unfortunate pleasure of working with Chad Gunn from their Sales team with Toyota. I was looking at used cars on their lot and had already done my homework. I knew what I was looking for and new I would be upside down on my trade. I had prepared myself for that. I decide to talk numbers, he gets the info he needs, and offers a number higher than I can afford. I cave a little and come up... of course. And Chad then tells me they can do $x.xx monthly bank has already approved it... all I have to do is say go. While I can afford it, my new fear overage... so I counter to get GAP coverage. And when he returns the offer has gone up $35 due to GAP. I try to bargain it down. No luck, so I leave. Chad and David (sales manager?) assure me both offers will be waiting for a couple of days if I change my mind. I call back same day after doing some research (after 5pm though). And I tell Chad I'll take the original offer without GAP. He's gone home already and will call me in the morning. Well, call comes in, and suddenly the original deal which I was told not only had been confirmed by the banks as a good offer, but would be held for me is gone. They suddenly can't make that offer and only will sell it with the GAP coverage on it. Plus if they take the GAP off to try to sell it, it's only an $8 difference. 8?? Versus the original 35 difference? This business at that exact moment proved it's not about the customer and how shady they will be to make a dollar. Wasted almost 2 days of my time for them to slip the offer THEY made away from me for a bigger buck. I wish I could give them lower stars for the extreme waste of time this was to get a customers hopes up and then trade that for a no-sale deal. Horrible experience! read more

My vehicle stopped working, was totally inoperable. Gave J Allen Toyota a call for advice. Casey in the Service Department advised to disconnect then reconnect the battery for a soft reboot, and ask someone to help with the reboot. A gentleman was kind and understanding enough to pause loading shopping bags into his vehicle, and follow Casey's advice to start my stalled vehicle. People only need the discernment to recognize Angels, Blessings, Guardians, Miracles, Good People, Difficult Situations made easy, Love, Care and Concern for others (total strangers) still exist on this Earth!, in America!, in Pass Christian, MS as was displayed in a Walmart parking lot for a stranger in distress. I have no idea who the gentleman is, hope he reads this post and realize his kindness is appreciated so much!!! The vehicle was towed by E&M Towing Service Company after every effort to start it did not work. E&M Tow Truck driver was understanding, courteous, polite, kind as well. The following day J Allen Toyota, Service Department took great care of my vehicle, had it operational, running smooth, caressing toads, highways, my drive way in comfort after the alignment. The past several years have been unprecedented, unusual, strange for every one. If I could give 0 stars I would. My wife and I felt like we were in the twilight zone. We had an appointment to look at their 4Runners. The sales personnel tried everything they could to push a lease on my wife and I even though we told them we did not want one. Once we told them we did not want a lease she went got the finance manager, David Potter, to help convince us otherwise. He had two tactics: 1. He treated us like we are ignorant to what a lease is in hope that we would give up and just trust what these magicians were saying 2 when we decided we were done listening to his condescending remarks, he tried to make us feel guilty for working up the the terms to the lease ( that we did not want). We only came in there to match a price with another company and see if they could give us a better deal. He acted like we should show them loyalty for their hard work. This guy is a condescending asshole who preys on people's ignorance of finance. I have an accounting degree I damn sure understand what a lease is; and even if I didn't, I don't need someone talking down to me/my wife to convince me otherwise. They straight lied to me saying they fixed the seized oil canister but they didn't! I'm no fool - changing oil is Easy but the RAV 4 is made w a paper filter that goes inside a canister - the canister is hard plastic. My car is nearly 10 years old and has only been to the dealer for service (except for tires). I decided I was going to change it and couldn't because the canister was stuck! I took it to J Allen Toyota, told them about it and they said they didn't have a problem with it and fixed it and changed the oil. Two oil changes at J Allen Toyota later I figured no problems, no issues, they had fixed it. Well I moved outta state (not too far away tho) and went to a Take 5 oil change place - they could not get the canister off and said it was seized on!!! They even used the special wrench and tried & tried. Finally they said they could break it off and replace it but they'd have to charge me and recommended I take it back to the last place I was - you guessed it - J Allen Toyota!! I was livid! That means the last 2 over $100 oil changes they did not change the filter!!! I tried calling - because I will drive back over- they need to fix it!!! And for free!! and the service technician said the general manager would call me and no one has ever called!! I tried calling again today - service is closed for lunch and the general manager is not again . read more

Don't ever try to get a straight answer from anyone here. I been trying to buy a car since this pass Oct 2023, they say we order what the build you want. I told them I don't want it if it isn't exactly how we ordered it. Denisha the sales lady said, " I won't contact you if it's not what you want". Guess what she lied, every little vehicle that was a red Camry here is your vehicle. Every time it was missing most stuff we wanted. Then they try to blame you for not excepting the wrong vehicle and say we denied the vehicle. I reached out to several people at this place and still couldn't get the car or even a better explanation on what's going on. They ended up mailing my deposit back to me without my knowledge nor did my sales lady know why or find out why.I figured they didn't want my business and guess what I will never be back here to buy a car and I've bought 3 in the past from Allen Toyota . I only take my late model Tundra to dealerships, including Allen. While doing my own safety inspection upon returning home, I found the plastic air damp that attaches to the skid plate underneath the engine was missing the 3 bolts that held the bottom in place. Also a tire valve was missing a cap. Either Allen didn't notice something that obvious or just let it go when they did the oil change. I hope I didn't miss anything else. I frequent dealerships and depend on them to correct any deficiencies. This was quite a surprise. The staff was great though and very helpful. Clean waiting room/area. read more

So after telling me they could get the car I wanted and sitting there for five hours, the other dealership was never sending them the car. They tries to sell me something I didn't want. I walked out of there and called the other dealership and bought the car from them on the phone. When driving up there the next day to pick it up, J Allen called me to tell me that the other dealership called them and said they could have it, If I came in we can get it done. I said really?? Once I had car under my butt I called them back and said so you can really get the car? They said yes! I said that's funny, cause I just bought it and I am driving it right now and you are flat out lying to me! The salesman said "Oh!" and hung up on me!!! Great customer service!!! NOT! For that I am grateful, but it is disappointing it took leaving a negative post to have this item covered. Can I leave negative stars? So very disappointed in not only dealership, but Toyota. Purchased a brand new Camry 1 1/2 years ago. Long commute has put over 50,000 miles on it. When my husband noticed a sound we brought it in to be told a Rotor needed to be replaced. Charged $100 diagnostic fee, and a quoted price of over $700. Service manager (Andrew Craig) promised to check with company and get back with us in 2 days...no call. When I reached out to sales manager, he promised the same, and did not deliver. The outside auto repair business we brought it to received an inflated price on part from Allen; a couple hundred lower price from Mobile dealership. Needless to say, I will NEVER buy from Allen again, nor buy another Toyota. They are known for reliability, but something obviously went wrong with mine. I purchased a 2011 infinitI g37 March 2021 I had the car for a year with no problem March 2022 had to replace a hose car was overheating fixed it no problems . then on Jan 23 2023 got in to drive car felt like the car was falling back in gear took it to J Allen Toyota was told my warranty had expired and my car needed a new transmission like how the car had been fine all this time no issue with the transmission then I get a list from them of all the things that need to be done but never got a call about bringing car in for routine maintenance if it needed it.Now I'm having to pay over 4000 dollars to replace a transmission Need radiator replaced etc, worn drive belt etc read more

UPDATE: Scott's response below shows that Allen Toyota takes no ownership for a misdiagnosed issue when I set the initial appointment expressing an issue with my tire or brakes, not a front end alignment. The front end alignment and 2 filters was what I was told my issue was by their technician/service advisor. I took my car to the supposed professionals who could not determine from the same multi point inspection Code D that the car needed tires (actually a tire)? YES, THEY DO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN! Look at the pictures and see for yourself if there was a difference in the inspections! The proof is in the receipts! SCAMMERS! Women beware! When I showed Dennis Watts the receipts for comparison, he said he put the wrong code!!!! There was not incorrect code, they take advantage of women! Period! Do not use Allen Toyota to service your vehicle unless you are under warranty; otherwise they view you as a cash cow especially if you are a female. I used Allen for the first time to service my car on 12/17/20 because I thought I had an issue with my brakes or tire before traveling out of town. I called to schedule an appointment and was offered a complimentary multi point inspection - Code D and was told that I needed a front end alignment. I was told by a technician that I did not need tires or brakes. I traveled to Florida for the holidays and while driving back home my ABS light started to flash. I called Allen for an appointment the next morning and was then charged $143 for another multi point inspection - Code D (the same type from 10 days earlier) and advised that I needed new tires! The service advisor, Dennis Watts, gave me an estimate for tires and a wheel alignment. I declined to be serviced by Allen Toyota because (1) they put my life endanger while traveling because apparently my tires were the issue all along (2) I was charged for a multi-point inspection Code D that was identical to the inspection an technician had performed days earlier (3) the service advisor was going to try to charge me for another wheel alignment! If you are a female, do not go to Allen Toyota alone! Take a man with you! They will try to get over on you and treat you like a money pit! The Service Manager, David Potter, is a joke! He just gives excuses to why the service advisor or technician did what they did! I will drive to Slidell, Hattiesburg or Mobile and have my car serviced before using Allen again! A $400 bought lesson learned that could have been spent on tires!!!! DO NOT USE ALLEN TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENT! They are scammers! read more
