I came in today to find a suit for my wedding this November. I already had about four other places in mind. This was my first stop and I decided to look because it had such good reviews. I decided to stay because to the service and the variety in my selection. Im always changing my mind and needing to see things in person. I don't like looking at pictures and visualizing what something could possibly look like. I need to see it in person. Jose took the time to change the jackets and ties on the mannequins so I could get the full picture. After all this was for my wedding. I've been quoted above $1000 to buy a suit or to have one tailor made by other shops. It was less than half of that here and with a much better selection. I decided to go with a tailor made suit and I couldn't be happier with the price. They have great payment options and their customer service was top tier. Thank you guys for all your help. read more

Brought a formal maxi dress that I needed altered for a friend's wedding in September and had a great experience! Elizabeth was very helpful in taking measurements and marking the hem of my dress and also giving me advice on how short I should hem the dress. It took about 2 weeks to turn around and when I returned, the dress was altered to my satisfaction! I did request for the v-neck to be altered but when it came out, I didn't quite like the way it sat so Elizabeth was get it altered the same day to my liking. Now, my dress is ready to go! I even picked up two ties for a great price for my hubbies. Overall, I had a great experience with J&A Formal Wear and would recommend them! read more

This place is great. I needed a nice, modern, mens suit for my son's wedding. Wanting to support local I gave this place a chance. Jose was amazing. I walked in, explained the situation and in less than 15 minutes he had me measured and set with a nice blue suit, shoes and accessories. It seemed effortless. I was a bit skeptical to be honest. Three days before the event I get a call from a very pleasant lady informing me that my suit was ready. I came in the next day and once again, friendly, courteous Jose hooked me up. Everything fit perfectly. He packaged it up for me and I was on my way in about 20 minutes. At the wedding I was a smash! I never got tired of thanking people for telling me how nice I looked. Several people suggested that I purchase the suit because it looked so perfect on me -- seriously. I was dancing like a fool and didn't give a rip cause I knew I looked good! Thank you Jose! Came to J&A to get a tux for me and my sons. The experience was so great came back a month later when I needed a tux again. It was super last minute and they still were able to take care of us. So I just picked up my wedding suit from them after being altered and OMG they did such an amazing job. The suit fits perfectly and I was picky and wanted an athletic fit. They did amazing with the alterations. I highly recommend this place to anybody that needs a suit or alterations. read more

I don't want to bash on a family-owned business but I was pretty disappointed with my suit. I ended up having high-water pants that were not corrected since the original pants that I tried on had a loose buckle and they didn't measure the new pants accurately since they were given to me on the fly. I felt self-conscious at the wedding where I was a groomsman and I even had to sag ny pants a bit. The personnel were very friendly and patient which is why I hate to write this review but this was a major error. When I mentioned it upon return of my suit, there was no apology and they pivoted away from the topic as they returned my deposit which was kind of disappointing instead of owning up to the mistake. We came weeks in advance and my friend was also told they would have a suit that would fit him well (since he was plus size) but the day he picked his up, they were scrambling to find a suit. I understand it was a busy Memorial Day weekend, but I expected better service, especially since we came with ample time. read more

I came here last week to buy a last minute suit for a wedding. Came in on a Wednesday and the wedding was on that same Friday. They had it ready by Thursday, it was fast and that's amazing. Didn't need too many alterations though, so that helped. Liz was incredibly friendly, helpful and patient, and answered all my questions. They have all kinds of suits, in various colors. I came in for a specific color so I didn't get to check out the other styles and colors but it looks like they've got a good selection. Exceptional service, I'd highly recommend this place. Unfortunately, that Thursday is also the day the whole quarantine thing started and the wedding was postponed until after this whole thing is over lol. But now I'm ready with my suit. If you need a tuxedo this is where you go, and Jose is the man. I have 5 others places closer to my house and still drove to J & A Formal. I was attending the Screen Actors Guild Awards and needed a perfect fit. Jose was patient and gave me many options. The final fitting was perfect. Quality Service! My expectations were surpassed by a huge margin. I came to visit this fine establishment last week and was able to get a same day suit rental with minor temporary alterations. I was so surprised they had my size (I'm a bigger guy) and were able to get what I needed when I needed it most. I give this place 5 stars for fast and easy service. They gave decent pricing on rental and they have a huge inventory. Everything about this place was awesome. I want to mention parking may be a little difficult to obtain however it did nothing to change my overall experience. read more

So I found this company on yelp... and I was SO impressed with their options on a variety of tuxedo rentals. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Elizabeth with her infectious smile. Her knowledge and willingness to help my son find "his style" was excellent customer service. They make you feel comfortable and are super reasonable with their rental options (quince/prom packages). As we know as moms/parents - kids can get expensive. I can't even begin to say how professional and and amazing this location is. We came here to rent the suits for a wedding, this included the groom's tuxedo. Don't let the size of the shop fool you, they have an amazing selection of suit styles and colors to choose from. My friend wanted something a bit more unique, we're talking tux with tails. We tried 3 other locations and they all required a deposit and had to order the tux to try on. This was a problem because at this point, he wasn't 100% sold on the tails. When we finally got to A&J Elizabeth was quick to the task, she had the suit in the size we needed in stock!! After hearing this, we were able to get all the guy's their suits and the tux at an amazing price! They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and set it up for a quick and easy pick up for all the guy's traveling in for the wedding. I 110% recommend A&J formal for anything suit rentals you may need!! read more

Suit Rentals have gotten so expensive it's almost worth spending a little more to purchase, but Not with J & A Formal Wear, their prices are affordable and their quality of suits is excellent. Just for some context, I'm located in Orange County. This has been my second time here at this establishment and I make the drive from OC to LA every time. Taking both visits into consideration, their service, care, and hospitality have been 100/10 both times. The first time I came was for my sisters wedding and I rented a tux for the occasion. They are very knowledgeable about modern fashion trends, fashion pertaining to specific events, and also fashion personally tailored to compliment you as an individual. I'm not one to casually dress up but the way they make the suits and tuxes fit you is hard to not appreciate how you look. Lastly, I had a very last minute important interview. I called one day before the morning of the interview and they told me to come in and they will do everything they can to help me out. I left with an amazing suit and a great experience. This review has been past over due but i owe it to them for giving me one of the best services i have ever gotten from a Menswear shop. Approximately Summer 2019, i had to attend a wedding but also decided to go shopping for an interview suit as well. I was recommended to come to this shop after going to various shops around the region. This place gave me the better service and knowledge on what goes best for any specific occasion. Not to mention that after using my suit, my pants were a little tight, they gladly took my pants in and fixed them up and tailored them to exactly how i wanted them. They also threw in the vest just to help me out. Definitely would recommend this place. 10/10 read more

I had my brother-in-law's wedding this past weekend and was in a last minute bind to find a peach bow tie and suspenders so my 2 year old could match his older brother who was in the wedding. I looked all over the mall and various department stores and came up with nothing. I called different children stores in the area, and again came up with nothing. I found out about this place the day before we had to leave out of town for the wedding, and they went out of their way to order the items I needed and had them for me by the end of the day. I am so grateful that I found this place, and they treated me with such great customer service! And it was a good thing that I did get him the matching outfit, because in true 2 year old style, he crashed the wedding program and went down the aisle with his brother. read more

I love this place. It has great pricing and great customer service. I came here to get my fiancé a suit for a job interview, we came around closing time. Needless to say we found one right away. The owner and his kwas very nice and helpful. He gave great suggestion. Took his time and didn't rush us at all even though he was closing and gave us a great price. We were able to pick up the suit the next day before my fiancé job interview. I highly recommend and definitely will come back for future formal outwear. read more

Brands like Porter Yoshida (Japanese bag brand), Stussy, Museum of Peace & Quiet, Nike ACG, Snowpeak, Air Jordan, Patagonia, North Face, Unbranded Denim (Selvedge company related to Naked & Famous), the list goes on. They have good selection of items that are regular price and a sale rack for clearance items. I was first introduced to this store through sneaker raffles for their limited drops on retro Jordans, Nike SB and Kobe's. However this store does way more, they're constantly updating the setup, they have in-person activations, and the workers seem to have a genuine care about the customers and community they serve. The workers are very attentive in-store, every time I walk in I'm greeted and they're good about making sure you are helped without hovering over you. Their customer service is on point, they're friendly and get to know you without trying to oversell you for commission. I've been able to meet a couple of their employees such as Daniel (also works at sister company Shop At Kings Montclair) and Matt who I've run into outside of Homebred and is friendly to say hello. I am hoping they re-release the Homebred fitted cap with the city of Covina patch on the side hit!

We needed to get tuxedos for my fiancé and 9 groomsmen, after searching around we decided to come here for our wedding and I am glad we did. They were very friendly, helpful and professional. I had two groomsmen coming out of town one week before the wedding. The two groomsmen arrived the Monday before the wedding and they were able get them fitted and have their orders ready that same Monday. All our orders were ready to go three day before the wedding.
