I've been coming here on and off for years. They do a good job sure, and they are pleasant people. But I made an appointment for today July 3rd. Look I get that there busy before the holiday. It's why I took the time to schedule my visit; And I'm always on time. No one said anything to me as I walked in and took a seat on the sofa. I Sat there for 15 minutes Two others were helped and serviced. My time is valuable! The fact I can make time to pamper myself for a smidge is priceless!! I came for my booked appointment at 3 pm. A nail technician Twitty was still busy with a client.It can happen and I thought I would wait some time.She approached me in 20 minutes and informed that she was going to continue working on somebody's else nails for another 20 minutes. I was a little bit surprised with such news. Couple of times Kathy,salon manager,stretched my previous appointments in a similar way,but I was tolerant. i got acrylics done. she filed and drilled my nails. and when she was tryna drill my acrylic she drilled into my actual nail. and kept doing it. now have a huge red gash in my nails. it hurts so bad. and i promise you. i'll never go back. and thankfully i didn't tip. worst 45 dollars of my life. they also made me pay before i got my nails done. to assure if i had a bad experience. i wouldn't be able to get less charged. or anything. i understood everything they were saying in their language. and they said. they wanna get me to pay so if all goes bad. there will be nothing they can do. never again will i ever go there again. read more

J & A Nails has come under new management and hired different women. I never went there before the switch, but I was rather happy with my results on this visit. The nail technician seated me right away and got to work on my feet. The pedicure felt amazing and she did a great job. The next day I had a bit of dry skin on the bottom, but considering how bad my feet were when I came in, I am not at all surprised that she couldn't have gotten everything without making me bleed. Her skills with a French pedicure are praise-worthy. She noticed that I came in with a flower painted on and asked if I would like another one added. Then she showed me a wide selection of their gorgeous toe rings. My manicure is one of the best that I have ever received. I was much more pleased with the results on my hands than on my feet. She gave me exactly what I asked for and did an excellent paint job. They use OPI products, which I have found to be the quickest drying and longest lasting. Everything cost $49. French pedicure, flowers on the toes, toe ring and regular manicure. This seems a bit pricey for what I've paid before. But this was also one of my happier experiences with a nail salon. I handed her $55 and she didn't ask if I wanted change back. I'm still not exactly sure how salon tipping works, so I probably wouldn't have even asked for change. Tried this nail salon on a whim as I needed to get a mani/pedi and brow wax before going on vacation. I was a walk-in client. I was greeted right away and taken to a pedicure station immediately. The gel mani and pedi were both amazing...hand, foot and calf massages were the best I have ever had at a salon (including high end salons). Both services were a total treat and very relaxing....it was a little vacay before my vacay. I am writing this review over two weeks since my services and after two weeks on the beach and both my gel mani and pedi still look fabulous! Brow wax area was not luxurious like a spa but it did the trick. It was clean and comfortable. My brows came out great though, waxer did a great job! Prices were very reasonable. I paid a total of about $60 (which included a 20% tip) for all three services! I will definitely return for gel mani, pedi and waxing in the future. read more

I came because they had good reviews, and it was a very poor job. Staff was incredibly friendly, but the pedicure job was not good. Very painful, nails were cut way too short and uneven, stations were dirty. Nail clippings from the previous customers were all over by the pedicure station. read more

I have been going to this salon for over 5 years and will never go to another. They treat you like family. If you are not happy they will do what ever it takes to fix the issue. I have found J&A's manicures to be relaxing and the polish to last longer than expensive salons I've been to. They also do waxing. Do not recommend. Overpriced. All employees spoke in "their" language always. Could hardly understand. Rude! In a hurry. Nails weren't covered, and when I asked to have another coat, employee told me, "I gave you 3 coats, and Now I gave you five coats (big toes only). Charged $18.00 extra for a gel pedicure vs. regular. I said my toe hurt and to see if she could pull ingrown toenail. Proceeded to tell me no, it was just skin. It hurt, that is not just skin! When I pointed to their sign on the wall that a gel pedicure was $43 instead of the $48 they charged, got nowhere. Never again will I go there! All the women are extremely professional and friendly, the salon is clean, and the cost very reasonable. I've noticed they know all their repeat customers by name and walk-ins are treated with the same courtesy. I have my nails gel coated as they are quite long. Awful!!! Worst experience i have ever had getting my nails done, and i get them done a lot-Every 2 weeks for the past 5 years. I was working in Inver Grove Heights for the day and just went to the nearest place on my break. The woman who did my nails was very nice, unfortunately she was just not very good. First, the color i picked out was not the color they put on my nails, so they tried to put 2 different colors on to make it into the color i wanted..A for effort i guess. However, once i got into my car i noticed a ton of flaws in my nails. Parts of my nails were missing nail polish, the old color i had on was still showing, there were multiple pieces of cotton ball strings cured into the gel polish, there was polish on my cuticles, i had my ring finger done in glitter and there was a thick glob on one side of my nail and little to no polish on the other side. I went back and asked that they give me my money back, I spoke with Kim, who said she would not refund me, but they would redo my nails, unfortunately i was on my lunch break and did not have time for that, which is why i just asked for my money back. She then told me that "that was my problem" and they would not refund me. Before i knew it Kim and i were literally yelling at each other in front of the other customers in there! At one point i was showing her the worst of my nails, which happened to be on my middle finger, and Kim, thinking i was flicking her off, flicked me off while screaming at me that i was just too picky! If i could give his place and Kim 0 stars, i would! Beware of this place! I also forgot to mention that they used unsanitary, uncleaned tools to scrape my gel polish off! read more
