Everything is right with J & B. I called Thanksgiving weekend about service on my washer and left a message. I received a call back Monday at 8 a.m. Rick came out Wednesday on time at 8 a.m. I had received a text the night before confirming the appointment, and a text that morning that the tech was on his way. I like that! Rick diagnosed the problem, he ordered the parts, and I paid the service fee by check. Following the same procedure, he and Mike arrived at 8 a.m. the next Monday and installed the parts. Then they checked the circuit board. Nothing. Rick gave me a price for the board, including the parts he had just installed. I decided for that cost I could buy a new washer. The techs were very kind, agreeing, and charged me only for the service, which I'd already paid. They did remove the new parts to return. Note to self: If the washer is so off balanced that it "walks" several inches, get it checked out now. That rattling/walking can loosen other parts. read more

My side by side refrigerator/freezer quit cooling. Called an in-town repair place who referred me to J&B. Customer service was friendly and responsive; scheduled an appointment for The Next Day! Awesome! Technician, Mike, called when he was 15 min. away and arrived at the scheduled time. He assessed the problem within 5 min. Unfortunately, the insulation on the compressor was gone, causing the unit to kick on and off and overheat without cooling the freezer. $868.00 for a new compressor! Yikes! Only reason I'm not giving 5 starts is be prepared to pay $125 just to walk in Door, plus the repair cost, plus parts. We recently had a dishwasher failure. I scheduled with another company, but they didn't show up on the scheduled day. I was hesitant to call J&B because of the reviews about pricing. Scheduling was a breeze with open availability. The technician was on time. He was quick and efficient, and had the part on his truck. He was in and out the door in half an hour. I work from home and was able to do so comfortably while he worked. I will say that my in prior experience most appliance repair companies waive the diagnostic fee or apply it to labor if chosen to fix the Appliance. I would recommend J&B for a quick appliance fix, but if you have some more time, I might recommend a more economical option. I do agree that charging labor on top of this fee is not the industry standard and causes the bill to be higher than with other companies. read more

A local family owned business. Very friendly helpful and accommodating. They were organized and had swift scheduling, service and billing. The technician covered items that were even outside of what was planned service (Microwave) It needed a magnetron but he showed me a melted fan and replaced that as well. My only beef is they have a mandatory $125 service charge. I feel they should only charge that if I don't use them once they show up and diagnose. But if I choose to have them fix it, the $125 should go into the work as credit. Instead it is on the invoice in addition to the cost of the work and parts. Outside of that, I would say they are definitely better than anyone else in this area. read more

Our refrigerator broke the day before we were leaving on vacation. I called Samsung first and they couldn't get us in for 5 days. In addition to being difficult and $200 to just walk in the door, I opted to look elsewhere. I called another local appliance repair first and was told they didn't work on Samsung Refrigerators. Then I called J&B, thank goodness I did. They work on Samsung, we're reasonably priced and even got me in the same same day! The receptionist was extremely kind and helpful. Beware of Crosley brand appliances. I wanted to support our local J and B appliance store when I purchased my new washer and dryer in October of 2018. I was concerned that they only had brands that I had never heard of, but they assured me that their products were very good. My washer is now just slightly over a year old and broken. I had the J and B technician come out, and I was told that the part that was broken would be $500 dollars. He stated that he usually doesn't see that part go out until a washer is 15 years old and he was concerned that the part may be defective. He instructed me to call Crosley to tell them about the situation and ask if there had been in recalls. Crosley informed me that there had not been any recalls, and because my washer was out of the 1 year warranty there was nothing that could be done. The representative glibly replied that appliances just aren't made the way they used to be. I then called J and B appliance and asked that they call the manufacturer to give their professional opinion that the part should not have broken and it seems defective. I told them that I needed their assistance to advocate for myself because I know nothing about washing machines. Unfortunately their service manager, Nathan, also glibly replied that they have no more influence than I do and that I would need to call to advocate for myself. Needless to say I am very disappointed in the service that I received from both parties. I guess that I will likely have to buy myself a new washing machine for Christmas. I would like to post an addition to my review. The owner of the store sent me a very unprofessional response to my complaint. Here it is: Hello As you cruse around the whole internet and publicly bash my company, I have one question for you. Do you realize, that j and b appliance didn't make your Whirlpool washer? Bought a Speedqueen washer and dryer from J&B Appliance in Twinsburg, Ohio and what a mistake that was. The dryer started having issues within the first 7 days, making a terribly loud vibrating noise,and it is now almost a month later and it's still not repaired. Dan, the owner, has been extremely rude and likes to raise his voice at customers over the phone. We asked to just have the dryer replaced since it wasn't a week old and that's when the attitude with him started. He told us it was up to Speedqueen to do an exchange and when we called Speedqueen they said it was up to the appliance store to do the exchange. I really don't think we are asking for too much. It's frustrating when you make a purchase and the item fails in the first week and they can't diagnose what the problem is and refuse to replace it. So now I'm waiting for the third visit from a technician to hopefully fix it by replacing the dryers motor that failed within 7 days, and the kicker is they don't even know is if that's what is making the noise. I have a one star rating only because I can't give any less. Now I'm stuck using these people to service my set because that's where I bought it from. Dan the owner says they have no record of me buying an appliance from them but yet he claims to have tried contacting me multiple times with no response from me. How did you try to contact me if you claim you don't have any info of me purchasing the Speedqueens from you? Another lie just like you lied about these machines being brand new. I called a week ago to get service on my dishwasher. They gave me a date for today(one week later). They told me they would call 8AM this morning to give me a 2 hour time window. When they never called, I called them. The girl on the phone told me they bumped me to tomorrow! When I expressed my dismay, she went ballistic and unprofessional. Her exact words were, "It's just a damn dishwasher and you can wash your own dishes and you can wash them by hand!" She had no idea that maybe I took off work for them, or that my husband had a broken wrist!! When I tried to calm her down, she went even more ballistic and hung up on me!! She said she would let me know tomorrow what time (really? Like they didn't tell me today that they weren't coming?). NOT!! She was totally out of line and unprofessional!! I had a $90 freezer fan put in a failing refrigerator. They charged me $125 to walk in the door, $90 for the part and $210+ for one hour of labor. Or $335 an hour. For a total of almost $500. When I called to question why the price, I was told you don't charge the same amount to fix a BMW as you do a Cavalier. Our fridge is a Maytag - nothing fancy. Our French door refrigerator stopped working (the front electric panel blew). We considered replacing the appliance but decided to have a repairman come out to look at it. My wife was fed up with the ridiculously loud bearing that went on our 5-year-young washing machine. She wanted the best, commercial grade washer I could find. My internet search led me to Speed Queen and J and B Appliance in Twinsburg. The manager (believe her name was Stephanie) was extremely knowledgeable and patient with all my questions. The transaction and delivery process was painless. Removal of the old washer and installation of the new (including training) was great. When the day dawns that the dryer no longer dries, I'm heading directly to J and B. He charged me $120 for 30 minutes worth of work to replace a timer switch which doesn't work the same as the original. It's not been installed properly. Plus he moved the dryer away from the wall pulling the vent out and left it like that. I didn't realize this until two days later. I'd been using it like that since he left not realizing I was spewing carbon monoxide into my house with the vent detached. When I called him he offered to come back in one week to put the damn dryer back in place but he did not even have the decency to apologize. read more

I would never call anyone else to work on my appliances. They have come to my rescue numerous times. I had an oven that the electronic control panel went bad in. Discontinued model and no parts available. New oven? Nope. Dan told me he had an out of state source to get it rebuilt. He sent it out, got it rebuilt, reinstalled it and I'm back in business. On the 9th, I got through, to an answering machine in which the message told me of the hours (9-5 M-F) and was explicitly nasty about leaving any messages (you can't). I have used this company on a few occasions and the last time is when I called to have my dryer repaired. They informed me there is a $89.00 service charge just to come out which I agreed to. They came out and twenty minutes after arriving the service person called and stated there was a broken belt and it would be $244. I agreed and he said he would fix it. He was done shortly thereafter. Came home and turned dryer on and it immediately started blowing hot Air. It was obvious that when he worked on the dryer he never hooked the vent bag up. I called and the person answering never apologized and was snide with me stating they would come Tuesday as take a look. I told the that I would like a discount on the service charge since they the dryer that way. I spoke to a general manager Nathan who sounded 20 and was extremely unprofessional. I asked to speak to the owner and he basically refused and then finally put "Dan" on who was extremely defensive, unprofessional,rude and kept saying things like "your assuming" "I've worked in this industry for 23 years". I am done with this company personally and the many many service calls I've used for my business. I do not recommend dealing with this team. Regretfully I have used J&B for years. Recently I called for service and I ended up needing a new dishwasher. I purchased a new product with installation. First, they failed to show up on the scheduled day. I waited around for hours and then called to see where they were. They are repair man failed to show up for work that day and they never called to let me know. They didn't show up the next day and installed the new dishwasher. Then, I received a frantic call from the office telling me they had to come back and remove that dishwasher because it was not a good model and there were reported problems with it. I permitted them to come back the next day. It turns out that they installed a better dishwasher then I allegedly purchased. They were coming to remove that one in order to install a lower quality dishwasher without telling me. When I asked, they denied the real reason for doing what they were doing. Their installer was clearly lying. When I called the office, the Son reported that it was all his fathers idea. It was truly amazing that anyone could go about business this way especially with a good repeat customer. I would not recommend this organization to anyone. read more

I never thought I would be writing a negative review, but the treatment I received at J & B Appliance in Twinsburg was so degrading and insulting I had to post this. I went to J & B Appliance to pick up a part I had ordered and paid for the day before. I told the store attendant my name and that there was a part in will-call for me. Without saying a word the attendant walks to another desk gets the part goes back to his desk and while passing the counter throws the part at me. I stayed at the counter to unwrap the part to be sure it was correct. The attendant tells me he dose not think I can install the part. I though he was just joking but the insults and belittling comments kept coming. When I was sure the part was correct I told the attendant I would not be returning and he said "good, I don't want you in here" I feel this was an outrageous way to treat any customer, especially a repeat customer. read more
