I experianced road rage with one of there flatbed drivers on interstate 84. She actually hit me with her truck then followed me. I called the state police. She called Brookfield police. She was eventully arrested for driving with a 2 year old suspended license and had an arrest warrant with Hartford police. She also had her 10 year old child in the truck at the time. AAA dispatched this company to unlock my vehicle for me when I accidentally locked my keys inside my vehicle. From start to finish, the gentleman that they dispatched to help me was very courteous and his communication skills were excellent. As someone who knows how to change his own oil, perform a smoke test on a car, and replace quite a bit of parts, I wonder why the hell did I bring my car to these posers. They can do the simple repairs that you could easily do from a Youtube video. However, give them anything moderately complex and they are fucking idiots. Run away from these scammers as fast as you can. A simple battery change turned into a $900 bill with these schmucks. The mechanic clearly does not know what he is doing, losing the fuse to my a/c and heat blower, and, though they charged more than $400 to purchase and install a "battery current sensor" they did no such thing, instead cobbling together the piece of garbage pictured here. It cost almost $700 at a REPUTABLE auto care center in the area to put everything right. read more

My 2006 sprinter van rv broke down on the highway and I couldn't get anybody to look at it until I got a hold of JD performance . He was about to close and nobody could find a serpentine belt for my RV he went out of his way finding a serpentine belt after hours and stayed open until AAA towed me to his station. He continued to get the belt and waited for me to arrive via tow truck. He stayed open and put the belt on the vehicle and he charged me a very reasonable price. Be wary of the positive reviews. A discount is offered if you leave a good review. 3. They quoted a price without even diagnosing the problem. I needed my car towed to the dealer for repair. Jason and crew came to do so. It quickly turned into a very complicated tow. Jason and his two co-workers could not have been any kinder or worked harder without one complaint. They were all extremely courteous and took great care to not damage or scratch my car during the process. Chuck and company are honest folks who take their time doing things right. I only was billed for actual work hours, despite my car being there over a week. This was OK with me, as I wanted them to enjoy working on my classic vehicle. All the repairs were done OEM and they treated me right. I disagree with Jasmine with Chuck being dishonest. They saved all my old parts and showed me what they have done for work which was a nice touch. They are a little on the slow side, but worth the wait. If you are classic vehicle collector, you will be in good hands with the things you do not have time to wrench yourself. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. Stay away from this place. I needed new doors on my car and Chuck told me he had "the best prices in town" and that I would have my car back by the end of the week. He sat on my car for three months, the locks on the doors didn't work, one of the doors was dented and the paint ended up peeling after a few months. This guys a scumbag. read more

My car just randomly stopped running one day and I had it towed to Chuck's Auto Repair Service which was a HUGE mistake. Chuck, the owner was very nice at first and I felt comfortable letting him work on my car. He said it was the engine and that I would need a new one. I found out insurance would cover the cost of the repair so we informed Chuck that it was OK to order the engine. For the month or so that he had my car, I later found out that he had been contacting the insurance company behind my back requesting more money to "cover the repairs." He ordered the new engine, put it in and said it was ready for pick up. My mother went to pick it up for me and as she was driving off of the lot, she said she could barely turn the steering wheel. Chuck was about to let my mother drive off in a car with a wheel she couldn't even turn! She informed him of the issue and he said he would fix it. He fixed it and not too long after, the engine light came on...and the engine light continues to come on two years later. When I took it to the dealer after I decided I would never go back to CARS, the mechanic popped the hood so I could see what was done. He explained to me that the previous work I had done on the car (at CARS) was substandard and things weren't even placed correctly. If I had to do it all over again, I would have just taken my car to the dealer and paid the extra money. I have yet to find a car mechanic that I truly trust. read more

I have been dealing with Chucks for over 10 years. My first visit was when I needed 2 new tires. The dealership wanted $150.00 per tire plus labor. I stopped by Chucks on a whim. He did the job for $80.00 per tire. Since then I have had him do all non -warre ty work on my Honda Fit. Also, when a wheelchair bound friend of mine recently had a serious problem with her old lift van, Chuck went all out to do the repair in less than a day and at a discounted price. When you go to Chuck you are not going to get the sleek dealership experience The shop is small and the office would never get Martha Stewart's approval. But I have had no problems with the work he has done for me and he has saved me some serious bucks. I gave C.A.R.s. three stars because some times Chuck has so much work going on there may be a delay in getting your service completed and the ambiance is, well, neo-grease monkey. If you are going to wait there for your car do not wear your best clothes and bring your own coffee. read more
