I contacted Gerardo, and he came out and then emailed the quote broke up for each side of the fences. His price was by far lower than the competition. He uses plygem for vinyl. I found j&g fence on Craig's list, I gave Gerardo a call and he came by and gave me a quote. By far he had the lowest quote which made me hesitate on hiring him. I just had a very bad experience getting our concrete done, someone we hired from a Craig's list ad. It took us several months and few more quotes to finally decided on J&G fence. I just had a good feeling about Gerardo compared to the other guys. He was professional, easy to talk to, responds to texts and emails timely. Well, we're glad we chose ghem. They did an outstanding job, they cleaned up really good, no extra cost during and after installation. He only asked for payment when everything was all done. I'm disappointed to have to write this review. Gerardo is a nice guy. However, he didn't finish our fence construction and, after he has failed to return several calls, it's clear to me that he has no intention to return. He was supposed to build two 6 ft high fences, one 5 ft high fence, and repair another 5 ft high fence. He did build the three new fence sections but he never repaired or painted the fourth section. Now I have to repair it and paint it myself so it matches the new sections. I think the job took longer than he expected so he may have underbid the job. That's not my fault though. He never offered a reason as to why he is refusing to return. The fences he built are okay. I wish he cut the bottom of the boards so the bottom of the fence follows the contour of the small hill. Because he didn't cut the bottom of the boards, the fence looks jagged at it steps up the hill, rather than following the smooth incline of the dirt. Also, the paint is too thin in some areas. My neighbor took the leftover paint and repainted some sections of the brand new fence. That's disappointing. Like I said before, Gerardo is a nice guy and he comes across well over the phone and during his initial visit. Ultimately though, he left us high and dry without finishing the job. And I'm only partially happy with the work he finished. read more

I would definitely call\recommend J&G to anybody who needs fence work done. I called and got an estimate from Gerardo over the phone, which was cheaper than or comparable to anybody else. He then came over a few days later and looked the job over to measure and verify the needs\price. Gerardo came back with his crew, took out the old fence and installed the new one with no problems. They even stayed later to finish the job due to me having a dog that I didn't want to get out of the yard. They left my yard as clean as it was when they arrived. read more

I found Gerardo on Craigslist and felt at ease after talking to him the first time on the phone. He returned all of my calls promptly throughout our vinyl fence project. He gave me an estimate after seeing the project, even giving us several color options, etc. He stayed right on target with it, even after several slight changes in the original plan. The work was done on time and in a very professional manner, start to finish. That includes an over the top cleanup of the work area. Gerardo and his crew were courteous and efficient. I received Gerardo's name from my neighbor who is a realtor and had used him before. I called him and he came by a few hours later to give an estimate to repair both sides of my rear yard fence that were leaning and had partially fallen down from a recent wind storm. He gave me an estimate and emailed me two bids the next day (one for each side) to give to my neighbors. His bid was comparable to others but his responsiveness got him the job. When I texted him to say my neighbors agreed to hire him, he was able to start the job in a few days and finished it in 2 days. He and his crew showed up each morning at the stated time and worked hard all day. He kept me apprised of the status by text and calls. I was pleased with the work and the communication by Gerardo. He was more responsive then other contractors I am dealing with right now on other projects. I would recommend him. read more

Beware of J&G Fence. They are unprofessional and completely unreliable. We hired them to replace our fence, agreed to their price then when it came time to do the job they flaked. Gerardo, their point man, came by the day before to look over the project and told us that he and three workers would be here the next day. When he didn't arrive we tried calling him several times and got no response. No call, no response to our calls, text messages and voice mail messages. Found Gerardo on Craigslist. After several other quotes from others including some big name guys. Gerardo was the most communicative and comfortable to deal with. His quote was very fair and was very transparent about the costs. He estimated it would take 1.5 days work and was done in exactly that. I initially found Gerardo online through a craigslist.org post. I was impressed with the pictures that were posted from different fencing jobs, and sent him email that day. Later on he emailed me back and with a couple days we talked on the phone. He was able to offer me a flat estimate over the phone, and they were the lowest out of several companies that we had contacted before. While the price did go up from his initial estimate, it was still very reasonable and still fit within our budget. There were two parts to the project, one was a chain link and the other was a wood panel. They also demo'd the old stucco fence that had been there, and did a great job on clean up. The other workers who worked with Gerardo did a great job and were very nice and approachable. They asked questions to make sure we would get what we wanted, and then delivered. I was very impressed with their work and level of professionalism. Would highly recommend. read more

I originally was extremely pleased with Gerardo having done a shared fence on one side of my home. Was so pleased I contacted him again and had him give a quote for a shared fence on the other side of my house. He provided as he quoted and was pleased. However the original fence he built has started to lean and I am concerned it will fall to other side. He assured me he would come back to resolve the problem. He will not return my call or return a text. Additionally I contacted him about the new fence he built with a few of the boards bowing. He was the best quote and he does a good job however to not return a call for a problem (one of which was a fence constructed within a week) is an issue. I just needed him to try to resolve a problem as he originally promised he would. I never give a bad review, but felt was necessary to get attention to a possible issue.
