We tried this place for takeout after reading positive reviews here. The takeout really is top notch! I got the Lou pasta with a lobster cream sauce and it was fantastic. My husband got a sausage stromboli and he was jealous of my pasta. We had to try the rainbow cookie cake and it certainly lives up to the hype. If that is also your favorite Italian cookie, you have to try this cake. The fried Oreos made it back home to PA once we left the shore house, and they sure are a special treat. There is a lot of competition in the Italian arena in this area. The pizza looked so-so, but if I'm ever in the mood for pasta again, we'll be back for more. read more

I used LG's for the first time (Dec 16) and it was wonderful. I had the Chicken Marsala and it was about the best I have had since I moved here in Brick. I had Delivery because I didn't have a car. Delivery was right on time and the food was HOT when I got it. Their portion sizes Are very generous and I actually got three Lunch size portions. I absolutely did not like this pizza. I researched area pizza places in Brick, looking for the best reviews, and decided to try LG's. They advertise 'specials' on the website; tonight was 'large pie special'...a large pie for $13. While waiting for the pizza, I learned that they deliver for free! I really wanted to like this pizza, but when I got it home, although it looked good, it didn't taste good. I can't put my finger on it. When I opened the box, the smell of garlic was very evident, something I've never experienced before. The crust was chewy, not thin & crispy. I was in the area and found this place on Yelp, once I got inside, it looked pretty bare bones, honestly I really wasn't expecting much but my uncle and I really enjoyed our meals. The menu is large, the portions are big, the prices are fair but most importantly, the food was delicious. The table side bread here was really good too. The food: Creamy Tuscany Chicken- Chicken breast & Italian sausage sautéed with diced tomatoes, spinach & a heavy cream Romano cheese sauce over linguini. I ordered this and for a dollar extra I added Cavatelli pasta. I thought this dish was amazing. I thought the pasta had such a nice texture, it was soft with a nice chew, I am not sure if they made this or if they bought it but it was great. The dish itself was bursting with flavor, I am not saying this was a healthy dish but it packed so much flavor. I thought the cream sauce wasn't as heavy as I was expecting and the sausage and the chicken were great additions to the pasta dish. This comes in a huge portion so I took the leftovers home but unfortunately cream based pastas don't really reheat well. Penne Alla Vodka- Fresh basil & prosciutto with vodka in a pink sauce. Since I am now living in Ohio, I have been deprived of NJ pizza for over a year; the pizza in this state just simply doesn't compare. There is something unique about the chew of the crust (and every pizza out in Ohio is cut into thin strips for some ungodly reason). Real pizza was one of our first stops (incidentally, as a side note, my current coworkers must think I'm a snob continually putting down the food out here). We decided to stop here for lunch based on reviews. We got a large pizza with half pepperoni and an order of mozzarella sticks. It was damn good pizza, especially by comparison, but I wouldn't say it was far beyond the quality of other pizza joints in the area. The price was super fair though. I think we got the Monday/Tuesday large pizza special for $11 (we paid extra for the toppings). The mozzarella sticks were just your standard ones, but they were tasty. When I'm back in the area, I'll definitely swing by here again. They definitely have fierce competition with the NJ pizza scene, but they do a solid job! read more

We stopped on our way from CT to the Shore, before closing time on a Thursday night, and were greeted by the friendliest, most helpful counter person and owner. Even though it was pasta night, with deep discounts on all kinds of pasta dishes, I had the regular penne vodka meal instead to get the side salad and some bread. Amazing!!! Every dish is incredible, the establishment is very clean and the entire staff are extremely nice, down to delivery service. My kids and I always order from or go to LG's. Decided to try LG's tonight for dinner. We ordered a pizza, sandwich, entree and wings. The pizza was very good and flavorful. We only wish it was hotter when we picked it up because when we got it it was more like room temp. We just know that a fresh hot pie would of been all this place needs to get 5 star. The drunken chicken sandwich with vodka sauce was delicious. Packed with flavor and great sauce. My family is very particular about vodka sauce but this one is great. The chicken wings are awesome very meaty and delicious. The chicken Tuscany was our least favorite item that we got but it wasn't bad it just didn't come as we ordered it and lacked flavor for us. This is an Italian restaurant not a pizza place and if you know Italian food you know the difference. This was my first visit and we ordered a large sausage pizza. I told the owner how I've been eating pizza for the last 60 years or so and it was nice to see actual Italian people selling Italian food. Food is not just about eating it is about the people. Visiting LG's was like going to see the relatives on a Sunday. You have to grow up with the food at home to be able to really get the nuances. Then they gave us some ziti with vodka sauce to try before the pizza came out. The ziti was cooked perfect like New York City or Rome $40 a plate perfect. The pizza was good but almost anticlimatic when compared to the ziti with vodka sauce. I look forward to returning and indulging in their macoroni selections. So if you have had your fill of Guatemalan and other South of the Border inspired Italian food to owe it to yourself to give these people a try. read more

Stopped in for dinner and WOW, the food is amazing!! We had fried raviolis for appetizer, a Hollywood salad special and the Cajun Ny strip special it even came with a cannoli. I'll admit - I was skeptical when I saw that "yet another pizza place" moved into the corner property of Top Tomato plaza, atop the proverbial ashes of 2-3 other failed restaurants. "With so much pizza competition in town, these guys are going to have to do something special!", I thought to myself. Well, it looks like LG's are the ones to do just that. I come from an Italian family, so I'll admit that I can be picky when it comes to sauces and pizzas. What impressed me most about LG's is how well they do their entrees. From their wonderfully tangy bolognese to the awesome spicy penne arrabiata, everything has tasted like the homemade sauces of my youth, made with the same care. Prices are very good, with practically every day having a special (the $9.99 pasta dinners on Sat are a great way to try some of their awesome sauces). The owners are super friendly, and although the restaurant itself is fairly small, they keep it incredibly clean.
