You can tell he is knowledgeable and honest about his inventory. When you arrive to Lorain Auto Credit, you can askip about and test drive the car. If you buy a car from Mike, you get the car you want at an honest price. I always try to support our local businesses, and I have bought two cars in the past two years from Mike at Lorain Auto Credit. I recently bought a car and due to this cold snap we had might have caused an issue with the windshield fluid. I called Mike last week and he took care of me even though he probably didn't need to. I purchased a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder from the lot, and almost immediately after driving off, the check engine light came on. Mike directed me to two separate shops to have the issue fixed, but neither shop was able to resolve the problem. During this time, I made it clear to Mike that I am pregnant, with children already depending on me, and I urgently needed a reliable vehicle or at least a loaner while I waited. His solution was to offer to "go half" on a rental, but even then, he cheated me out of his portion of the payment. When I realized the Nissan could not be repaired in a reasonable time, I asked for my money back. Instead of being straightforward, Mike attempted to return less than half of the $3,000 I had paid. He then tried to pressure me into taking an old Buick as a downgrade, which did not have the seating space I required for car seats. He promised that it would only be temporary until a Honda part came in, but when the part arrived, he refused to switch me into the vehicle as agreed. Mike also made unethical demands, telling me that if I wrote him two positive online reviews, he would "work something out." I refused to be manipulated into writing fake reviews in exchange for service I was already owed. I kept thorough records of our interactions--text messages and recorded phone calls--so that I would have proof of how the situation was handled. If anyone doubts this, I am willing to provide evidence directly. To make matters worse, I discovered that Das Auto was attempting to resell the Nissan Pathfinder after claiming it had been sent to auction. When I brought this up, I was immediately blocked. Shannon, another employee, was rude and unprofessional throughout the process, while Chad and Mike's brother were the only ones who attempted to handle things respectfully and fairly. Chad in particular tried to ensure I got my refund, but it was clear Mike was the one holding everything up. Mike even went as far as to hold onto a check from Credit Acceptance that was in my name, and I later learned he had opened my mail without my permission, which is illegal. Only after my lawyer contacted the bank did Mike suddenly call me and claim my check was ready. This entire ordeal was stressful, manipulative, and dishonest. If you are considering purchasing a car from Das Auto Carlot, I strongly urge you to reconsider. My experience showed a pattern of dishonesty, lack of accountability, and disrespect for customers' rights and needs. The only positive part of my interaction was with Chad and Mike's brother, who at least tried to do right by me. Unfortunately, the owner himself proved untrustworthy, and I would not recommend doing business with him

I told her that she was at fault for not communicating to me that the 2,000 was for a lesser vehicle and was continuously being rude and swearing at me. The facts (shortened due to space)--after purchasing a vehicle from Rt 44 Auto Sales, Jim, the sales manager, assured us that the service dept. would top off the all the fluids, fix the air conditioning. We left the vehicle there to be 'serviced.' Turns out the radiator had no antifreeze, transmission fluid was leaking, extremely low. After the car overheated the solenoid was destroyed. The air conditioning belt was twisted like a crazy straw--wrapped around the pulley. After the agony of breaking down hours from home, the customer promptly went to the service department for answers. Anthony, owner and service manager, said, 'I remember putting Freon in it,' Customer, 'But you just said, you couldn't fill the Freon with the air-conditioning belt all twisted like that.' Anthony began getting defensive, when the service record was requested, he became angry. Admittedly, he said there was no record of the services. Neither Jim, nor Anthony even attempted to make things right. Instead, they began using bullying and intimidation tactics, i.e., started screaming loudly at their customer, 'Get out of here, go, get out"! Additionally, due to the damaged solenoid a second person was needed to start the car (similar to a battery jump). Do you think either one of these 'men' would help their customer turn a lousy key? You guessed it, Nope. I had to drive miles to this dealership just to turn a key. This is just the tip of the iceberg, the needed repairs were outrageously costly. Don't send anyone you know or care about to this so-called business--No integrity!

This was one of the most frustrating car buying experiences I've had…read more I was actively working a deal on a Chevy Equinox EV from out of state and made it very clear I was serious -- we discussed out-the-door pricing, confirmed details like the charger and paperwork, and I was literally preparing to drive 7 hours early the next morning with my dad to complete the purchase. At no point was I told there was another buyer actively purchasing the vehicle. Instead, I was led to believe the car was available and that we were moving forward. Then, right after confirming final details, I was suddenly told the vehicle was "in the process of selling." I completely understand first-come, first-served -- that's not the issue. The issue is the lack of transparency. If another buyer was ahead of me, that should have been clearly communicated so I could have made an informed decision (like putting down a deposit immediately). This isn't the first time I've had this happen during my search, but this was by far the most poorly handled. If you're an out-of-state buyer, be very cautious. Don't make plans or assume anything is yours unless you have it locked down in writing. Very disappointing experience.

I was told by the sales associate that sold me the car that the manager said since it was sold as is that there was nothing they could do for me, here it is 5 months later noise is still bad, rear back up camera stopped working, my a/c switches back to heat by itself ,carfax showed there was no accidents. My hood was painted and is not aligned properly, the rear end was also hit, tailgate is off, bumber and rear quarter panel has slight paint peeling and the roof has been painted found fish eye in the paint. There is no way the dealership wasn't aware it was involved in an accident. Sales person was good manager not so much. Definitely wouldn't recommend purchasing a used vehicle from here and if you do look over the car very good. Today is 8/3/2025. I replied with my number and info on this as requested and still have not recieved any reply back. I took my vehicle to a shop to have it looked over and they stated that in fact this vehicle was in fact in an accident hit from the front and back hence why I'm having the issues.
