I brought my 2021 Black Chevy Tahoe to A&E Auto for a minor repair & paint needed on the rear right door & rear bumper. I specifically asked the A&E Auto owner Phillip Marques if they're capable of reparing each with original manufacturer factory finish paint job, with both color & texture match. That conartist assured me that yes that they were capable of doing such work for $1200, then tried over charging me asking for $1600 on the day I went by to pickup my Chevy Tahoe, Supposedly because they did extra work with blending the rear rt panel & rt front door which wasn't part of our original consensual agreement & kindly payed him an extra $200, So $1400 total. I requested for the invoice, But was told I'd get it by email by tonight, but it was never sent. When I took a good look at the work they did, Not only the color nor the texture didn't match the original manufacturer finish as Phillip Marques had promised but also notice they've butchered & damaged the entire right side of my Chevy Tahoe with the disastrous incompetent, negligent & inexperienced job they had done. Including to multiple other areas both in the outside & in the inside of my Chevy Tahoe which were once perfectly fine prior to them damaging them with over spray & being directly sprayed on. Not to mention all the paint runs, swirls, fish eye, as well other defects on multiple diferent areas on my entire right side of the vehicle. As well as discoloration due to them experimenting when mixing up diferent left over black paints which Joey (worker) said they had in the back. Which pretty much says, They had no plans nor any intentions of ordering the original manufacturer paint thats meant for my Chevy Tahoe based on its VIN Number. When I confronted Phillip Marques, Questioned & showed him the disastrous job they done to my 2021 Chevy Tahoe at his shop while under his care & supervision. I requested for him to make things right by taking responsibility & accountability for it, He became upset, arrogant rather than owning up to it & says what did you expect to get done for $1200, Do you know how much the job on the door & the bumper really would've cost you some where else to get it done the way that you wanted? At that very moment, I decided it was just best for me to just get into my vehicle & leave the premises just to avoid the issue from escalating. I brought my vehicle to other body shops to inspect their incompetent work & all the damages they caused to my vehicle hoping to get an estimate for the cost to repair it, But was told they'd not be interested in putting their hands on someone else's bad work. Another Auto body shop owner said he would restore my vehicle back to its factory state, but he would 1st have to undue A&E Auto shoddy work, by fully stripping the entire right side of my Chevy Tahoe along with the bumpers & bearing each individual part to the bone for proper preparation & proper repairs in order to get it back to where it needs to be, Then handed me a written fully detailed estimate for the cost to repair the damages done at A&E Auto totalling (Estimated) $8,700. But not a final cost in case there's anything else that needs to be done or replaced. So what was once said to be a $1,200 job for minor repairs & paint to the rear rt door & the rear bumper by A&E Auto owner Phillip Marques, after the disastrous job done to my 2021 Chevy Tahoe & also damaging its entire right side at his A&E Auto body shop Now turned out to become a $8,700 job to fully restore my entire right side of my 2021 Chevy Tahoe back to its factory state. Since then, additional problems have surfaced, including oil leaks (front differential and rear main seal), non-working heat/defrost, electrical issues with lights, a broken radio, and a non-functioning passenger window. We also had concerns with how the deal was handled upfront, including being encouraged to temporarily change insurance in a way that could be considered misrepresentation just to satisfy the bank. Despite giving them opportunities to make it right, Dormans Auto has refused to repair the vehicle or take responsibility. Very disappointing experience and lack of professionalism. Over a month ago, after an accident, my insurance company recommended that I bring my car to this…read moreshop. We dropped it off and picked it up several weeks later. The moment I drove out, it was clear that very little work had been done. Here are just some of the problems I noticed immediately: 1. The car pulled so hard to the right that, when I let go of the wheel in a parking lot, it drove itself in a full circle. 2. The front-facing parking camera no longer worked. 3. The brakes made a loud "wub wub" sound. 4. The "service headlight" warning light came on. 5. The mirrors no longer folded in electronically. 6. Adaptive cruise control was not working. 7. Autopilot was not working. 8. There was a grinding sound when turning the wheel. When I reported these issues, the shop manager admitted he hadn't test-driven the car, only sent it for a wash, and that no one had mentioned problems. He also said he hadn't checked the suspension because, in his words, "it doesn't make sense that the suspension would be damaged from such a small accident." Keep in mind: the impact was directly on the front passenger wheel. He told me to take it to Town Fair Tire for an alignment, where their technician said the suspension was so badly damaged that he was shocked I'd even been allowed to drive the car away. The problems persisted, so I brought the car back. I was then told that the shop hadn't even plugged in the front bumper they had replaced. Once they corrected that and replaced an entire control arm (a major issue that this was missed the first time), most features worked again, but the brakes still made loud noises they hadn't made before the accident. Another concern: when I first dropped off the car, I signed a form requiring OEM parts only. But the replacement camera is noticeably lower quality than my original one, which makes me question whether OEM parts were truly used. When my wife later picked up the car, she immediately noticed the brakes as well. Once home, we found two loose metal parts in the center console, and the plastic cover from the seatbelt had simply been tossed onto the passenger seat instead of reinstalled. That exposed the airbag system, which is extremely concerning. Today, many weeks into this process, after returning from a work trip, I called the shop again. This time, I was met with hostility. The manager insisted, "we didn't touch the seat," and brushed off the brake issue as "a wear item." despite the brakes being fairly new and having zero issues at all before the accident. When I pushed back, the owner, Brian, got on the phone. Before I could finish a sentence, he cut me off to talk about an unrelated tire issue, and then told me he "would not call Progressive because they would laugh at him." Honestly, I don't care about his relationship with the insurance company. I just need my car repaired correctly and safely. To be fair, the shop manager himself was polite and seemed to be trying. But despite multiple visits and three separate attempts to get this resolved, the issues remain. Each time, we've left with glaring problems that even a non-mechanic like me notices right away. That raises serious concerns about the quality and safety of their work. Auto body shops are everywhere, and based on my experience, I would strongly advise against choosing Xtreme Auto. At this point, the safety of my car is in question, and that's simply unacceptable.
