Sausage, Egg, & Cheese on Sesame Bagel with side of hashbrowns and hibiskus tea

We were craving bagel sandwiches and decided to stop for a late morning, early afternoon brunch. Looks like most patrons go for take out and we decided to eat in. Restaurant was a little smokey inside from the grill so they keep their front door open but it was freezing! Their bagel sandwiches are delicious! Hashbrowns would be better if they were made with some peppers and onions for flavor. The char from the grill tasted decent though.

Staying in Grasonville and waking early and making an omelet for the client , I felt the urge to drive to Georgetown for a bagel at JJ's. Yes I could have eaten the omelette this morning but I just want a NY style bagel. There is no where in Queen Ann's County for me to get a bagel like JJ's. This is the only bagel place on the entire Eastern shore that tastes like a NY bagel. I don't have a need to toast the bagel , that's what you do to bring a stale bagel back to life .Buy 6 bagels and get one free TOTAL $5.75 making each bagel $.82, big bag of bagel chips $1.00 , yes , they take the stale bagels and make them into a crispy snack , the best part is the bagel chips are made from all different bagels . Just make your favorite dip and serve with these chips ! The bagels are made from scratch everyday and they sell out. They open at 5:00 a.m . its worth the drive from anywhere!

Nice pit stop to pick up a morning breakfast bagel sandwich with Latin twist. I had an alright chicken salad BLT to go. Good but I'd go with a full breakfast if this was my local. Service was friendly and efficient.

Nothing beats a great local bagel shop in Slower Lower! The sandwiches are amazing and the staff always greets you with a smile. Definitely worth making a stop for J&J if you're in the area!

Good LARGE breakfast sandwich on a bagel. Couldn't finish---saved the rest for lunch. Coffee was OK. Good value.

We always stop on our way to OCMD. Bagels are delicious! The service is friendly and efficient. I just wish they had a public restroom.

A Solid Bagel Stop in Lewes…read more I've eaten at Surf Bagel before, so on the way home from a recent business trip I decided to stop again and grab breakfast to go. I ordered a sesame bagel with egg, cheese, and scrapple, along with a hash brown. The bagel was nicely toasted and very fresh, which is really what you hope for when you're stopping at a place that specializes in bagels. The sandwich itself was simple but very satisfying. Nothing over the top or crazy fancy, just a well made breakfast sandwich that hit the spot. The service was friendly and quick, and the place itself has a unique feel to it. Inside they sell quite a bit of Surf Bagel merchandise, which gives it a fun local vibe beyond just being a bagel counter. I included a few photos because the shop has a cool look to it. I stopped in around 9 in the morning and it was still pretty busy, even during the off season. That tells me this place probably gets packed during the summer months. Overall, everything was fresh, the staff was nice, and it's definitely a place I'd stop at again when I'm in the area.

I was driving from Bucks County to Newport News to visit family over the New Year's holiday and Surf was my first stop about a third of the way to my destination. I wanted to buy a half dozen for the family to enjoy for the next few days. I hadn't counted on the Christmas break causing this shop to be full on a Tuesday morning and low on bagel inventory. But, it was, so my options were limited. My first choices (onion and sesame) were gone, so it fell to secondary availability to meet the need. A few garlic, poppy and plain rounders would have to do. Still, these were quite good; well textured semi-hard skin with softer chewy bread within. Taste was forceful (particularly the garlic) and with toasting, cream cheese or butter and slice of Gruyère, enjoyable. Strong brewed coffee complemented it as hoped. Service was friendly and helpful and appropriately apologetic for lacking my desired flavors. Not their fault that they were so busy on a holiday week. Good for them. Surf is definitely a bagel stop to make on a quieter day when they wouldn't be nearly sold out before noon! 4 Fat Bagel Stars

From the outside you'd never know the treat that awaits you inside! Who knew there was an Orea flavored cream cheese? Or horseradish & cheddar? Or olive pimenta? Or bacon lox scallion? I kinda wish I would have discovered this place sooner so I could have sampled more of the flavors! Anyway, we both go the Lox w/Salmon/onions & capers with cream cheese on a bagel. And I couldn't finish it. I saved the second half for the next morning and it was still tasty! So, to summarize, you can choose your cream cheese and your bagel (everything bagel, wheat, plain, etc.). And of course they've got other items to choose from. Avocado toast was my second option. ...a hidden gem.

We ordered toasted bagels, but they were barely toasted and tasted more like plain bagels. The coffee was unfortunately very disappointing as well. Even after adding half-and-half, I couldn't finish it because of the taste. The outstanding service is the reason I'd consider giving this place another try, and I hope they can improve the bagels and coffee because the staff truly deserves recognition.
