This place is a short walk from the Bethany beach boardwalk. There is a cute outdoor area in the back where you can enjoy your food and drinks. I got a classic breakfast sandwich of a bacon, egg and cheese on a everything bagel (my go to!). I also got a cinnamon roll for my friend. I got them both to go. First off love the crunch of the everything bagel! The cheese used with the sandwich was pretty good and bacon was nice and crispy. Pretty solid BEC. My friend enjoyed the cinnamon roll as well. My husband had a delicious grilled cheese sandwich made to order here with a coffee. They were baking all sorts of goodies and putting icing on them. The lady behind the counter was not friendly or welcoming, somewhat gruff when he asked some questions and asked for a recommendation. Small inside with a few tables but a cute, homey feel. Such a great little beach town bakery. Their bagels are excellent, and the bacon, egg, and cheese is a go-to--simple and done really well. They also make great lunch sandwiches, and the baked goods are worth stopping for, especially the lemon poppy muffin, which is always fresh and flavorful. read more

I had some difficulty finding the entrance/exit on this establishment. The entrance is street side but I somehow missed it and entered through the exit. Fortunately not many people were in line yet at 8am. No one complained about me waiting inside for my food, as others noted. I purchased an everything bagel with cream cheese and a fried egg on it and it hit the spot. I also purchased a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese for my 3 year old and she ate half of it after picking out most of the raisins which is the toddler seal of approval. They were nicely wrapped. They had some tables outside under an awning, not sure if they are totally waterproof. I took them back to where we were staying. read more

Ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich and an iced coffee. Both were delicious! The sandwich was $10 and the iced coffee was $3. They do a 3% discount if you pay cash. They also have a variety of goodies like muffins and scones. There is outdoor seating that is covered. There are only stairs to enter which may be difficulty for some patrons. The staff were great. The wait times were a little long, about 25-30 minutes for the sandwich. Would definitely come back to this quaint cafe for breakfast and would love to try out lunch. read more

I got the Beach Babe Everything Bagel and it was ABSOLUTELY delicious! This is a great spot to grab breakfast on the go, walk around the markets, and head to the beach! Service is quick, I appreciated the staff for answering my questions and providing recommendations. Started with turkey, cheese, and apple sandwich on ciabatta. Really enjoyed that combo. The other choice was chicken salad on lettuce with tomato. The salad was light on mayo, a good thing, but no dressing for the salad component, which I viewed negatively. Thus 4 stars, but I am going back. Heard they have a nice breakfast. read more

The Beach Bakrie has excellent pastries in a wide variety. Good coffee and hot chocolate too. It is set up for take out but there is outdoor seating under awnings. Get the Beach Brittle if they have it which is rare. I took a star off due to service that can be abrupt or unhelpful. You have to overlook that to get the good pastries. read more

Beach Break is the best sandwich shop in Bethany by a million miles! Gets busy in the summer but totally worth it... the breakfast sandwiches are so ridiculously good! Everyone who visits me down the beach, THIS is the first place they want to go to. (i never argue) Reading through some of the other reviews on Yelp, the negative ones are quite simply New Jersey and New York douchebags who infest Bethany for 3 months out of the year and are just unhappy people in life. Hopefully they stay the hell out of Delaware and stick to low class Wildwood, because they really ruin the vibe of the Delaware beaches. read more

My absolute favorite place in Bethany to get a bite to eat. Incredible fresh sandwiches & salads. Delectable breakfast fare. And the muffins, rolls & scones- Oh My! I usually get the Philly Cheesesteak on a brioche roll - just fantastic! But if I've indulged too much I like the nor'easter salad. Went here for breakfast. This spot is in a very central location super close to the boardwalk. I got a croissant breakfast sandwich with bacon. It was good but nothing special. I wish the croissant was a bit more flaky/crispy instead of completely soft. There was great outdoor seating though, and a very cute puppy at the door that seemed to be part of the place :) read more

Best breakfast at the beach! The wait is ridiculously long during the summer but that's the case with most places. The bagel sandwiches are made with two eggs which sandwich whatever you put in between which really makes it all melt and moist. So good! The only improvement I would suggest is to have a separate pick up line for call in orders. read more

Food is great. Service can be slow when busy, 45 minute wait for a breakfast sandwich on Sunday morning. I understand they had a help wanted sign in the door and one person working the kitchen but need to be better prepared on a busy day. Order ahead and save yourself a slow wait. That being said, probably the best cafe/breakfast spot in the area. Bagels and crossaint breakfast sandwiches are absolutely BOMB. Again I want to PRESS. Customer service could be much improved. Yelling at customers from the kitchen area to tell people to wait outside is really unnecessary. How about walking up to paying customers and letting them know that if they could wait outside that would be great would be a much better approach. read more

Came back after a few years just to see if things improved. Once again if you want to wait 45+ minutes in your beach trip for a simple bagel egg bacon and cheese please come here. Simply the worst managed breakfast sandwich place I've ever been. Please do yourself a favor and find breakfast elsewhere unless you have an hour to spare. read more

We ordered three Cuban sandwiches and they were great, also less expensive than many other nearby places (10$ each). We sat outside and food was brought to us (no inside seating available). We did not have to wait long but as everyone working looked to be new and in high school (cashier asked me to hand her the menu so she could check prices) I can see how wait times would get long if they were busy. While we were waiting an employee came outside to talk to the people next to us and said "we are out of [some protein], would you like to substitute?" The customer said yes and was then asked to go back inside so she could pay an up charge to substitute the protein... Either way- our experience was good so 5 stars. read more

Incredible spot for breakfast in Bethany Beach. I stayed there last week and went all but one day for breakfast. I got the iced coffee every day (decent in a town that doesn't offer much iced coffee) and consistently got the classic breakfast sandwich with bacon. Bacon was very crisp and sandwich was very well constructed. On the first day I got the Beach Babe sandwich which had a lot of vegetables, egg and cheese on an everything bagel which was phenomenal as well. The wait is normally pretty long if you're getting sandwiches (short for baked goods & coffee) but so worth it. Bring a book and sit out back and they call your name when your sandwich is ready. Absolutely love this place and will be back! read more

3.5 stars in my opinion. The breakfast sandwiches were really good and tasted homemade. I won't rag on the atmosphere too much since it is a beach location right on the boardwalk. But there were quite a few flies buzzing around and the interior seemed a little dirty to me. We did enjoy our breakfast though. It was nice and quiet and cool eating outside since it is the off season. If you are in town and need a place for breakfast I would say definitely stop here and grab a breakfast sandwich! I also have to add they are very fairly priced. We spent about $20 and got 2 breakfast sandwiches, 2 juices, a coffee, and a muffin. read more

Flies everywhere in the kitchen, no gloves, no hair nets, fairly unsanitary and very slow all for a nothing special pedestrian deli fare. 25 minute wait for a sausage egg and cheese. The speed is okay to tolerate but touching food directly on the grill I mean someone should report these folks to the local health folks or tell them to get some basic food safety stuff read more

The owner was just on her cell phone (one of the most germ ridden objects in our lives) without gloves while making my sandwiches. She then hangs up, doesn't wash her hands, then proceeds to pick up every ingredient of my sandwiches with her bare hands to put them on the bread. Disgusting. Two stars because the food is good, but if you end up getting sick, not really worth it! Also forgot the lettuce on my sandwiches which was a nice treat to discover when I got home and opened the bag. read more

went to avoid the gross hotel breakfast but it seems if you want a better selection you need to get there as soon as it opens. they ran out of avocado toast and chocolate chip muffins much to our chagrin. but my husband and son got egg sandwiches and enjoyed them. it's a bit slow but i guess that's a given during tourist season. read more

Definitely one of the better fudge places I've been to and way better than Jersey or the Carolinas. Definitely worth a stop!

The pizza was cold, floppy and old. In addition, 2 subs and 3 slices of pizza was close to $60! This didn't include the $13 for 2 fountain sodas from a machine that was half broke. And 2 CUPS of water. Sadly, we won't return and we don't recommend and Surfs Up will have to remain a memory for us. I wouldn't eat here u less you want gross subs, old pizza and a disgusting dining area.

Service was great, everyone was very friendly. Not much seating space however seating is also offered on second level, but I think it's a good place for pick up to go.

I had a Strawberries and Cream cold brew that was very good. Hubby had two different types of iced tea for the road and left with a big smile on his face. The shop was very clean and nicely decorated. There are some nice pastries too.. i was eyeing a very scrumptious looking crumb cake but passed it up! So many different coffee selections to choose from with fun concoctions. You won't be disappointed.

The owner Janet is super cool and clearly cares (and knows) a lot about the coffee she is serving. The baristas are fantastic and are very open to making a drink just the way I want it without making me feel like I'm Meg Ryan when I order my iced latte, extra shot, extra ice, less milk, and half pump of peppermint syrup! Special shoutout to Mila who always gets it just right. Looking forward to being able to count on Clove & Cedar for my daily fix again next year.
