I used to hang out at a deli a friend worked at in Avalon. Daisy's Hoagies and Heroes kinda reminds me of that place. Way to cover the whole hoagie hero controversy, but lookout for the subs people. They have a good selection of sandwiches and hoagies, hot and cold. We stopped for breakfast on our way back. Everything we ordered was great. Will not patronize Daisy's in the future! Today, on our way back to our house, we decided to pick up lunch at Daisy's. We had been there once before in the Winter, and thought that the food was very good. I remember having a Monte Cristo, which was tasty. We arrived and placed our order: Southwest Turkey and a Chicken Caesar. Neither sandwich had any substitutions or changes. They were ordered as is. The receipt (see photo) shows that the order was placed at 11:47am. There were others ahead of us, so we sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. After about 15 or so minutes, we noticed that patrons who came in and ordered after us, we getting their orders. Finally, at apx. 12:25pm my wife went up and asked where the food was and wanted a refund. The cashier apologized. Suddenly, the food came out and we were told we could have a bag of chips on the house. We grabbed a bag and left. When we arrived home, we found out that not only did the order take over 30 minutes but that it was wrong! We got two Chicken Caesar sandwiches (see photos). One looks great, the other not so great. So, our second visit will be our last. read more

Ordered Egg Salad on Wheat. It was excellent! Hard to find good egg salad that doesn't have lots of extras in it and that isn't from a food distributor. The BEST part was that they had just run out of it and said it would be a few minutes of a wait because they were making it fresh for me. Talk about customer service! I can't say enough good things about Daisy's Hoagies and Heroes in Milton, DE! This place has quickly become my go-to spot for delicious, hearty sandwiches that hit the spot every single time. Their breakfast sandwiches are always great--fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to start the day. Made with quality ingredients and just the right portions, they're consistently spot-on and never disappoint. Recently, they catered an event for us with a variety of wraps: roast beef, turkey, and Italian. Oh my gosh--they were out of this world! The meats were tender and fresh, the veggies crisp, and the wraps were perfectly assembled with just the right balance of flavors. Everyone at the gathering raved about them and went back for seconds (and thirds!). What really sets Daisy's apart is the staff--they're awesome, friendly, and genuinely make you feel welcome. Not impressed. Ordered a corned beef Rueben, burger and onion rings. The Rueben had very little meat and Cole slaw instead of sauerkraut and was dry. The burger was mostly bread and bland. Onion rings were overcooked and a tiny portion for $7. For a $32 lunch I would expect much better quality. read more

Daisy's Hoagies & Heroes is the real deal. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, and these are authentic Philly-style hoagies and cheesesteaks. I've always loved Pete's Steak Shop and thought it was the best -- until Daisy's opened. They've taken the top spot for me. Bonus: real pretzels from the Philadelphia Federal Pretzel Factory. You'd be foolish to not stop here. Italian sub has capicola, mortadella, salami, prosciutto, and excellent provolone. The cheese really sings. . Another time I got all the Italian meats with roasted peppers on a softer sub roll. Total home run. Just tried a Reuben with CB and Cole slaw. Rye was golden griddled perfectly. Great sandwich.
