I love to visit the Surf Bagel when I am down the beach! They have great coffee and very tasty bagels! So many varieties to choose from. It's always packed too! The coffee is also very flavorful. Every order is a train wreck. This last one was the worst. I ordered a Turkey Sandwich on bread. Seriously, how hard is that? Turkey, bread, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion. They mess up my order every time. Truly should be a no star rating. How hard is it to read the ticket you smack on the bagels you sell. Update: I went in and showed them what was missing from my order and they had the audacity to tell me I ordered it wrong as the ticket on my messed up bagel had everything listed correctly. I have to say...order ahead and it makes a big deal especially on a Sunday morning. My bagels were ready to go and I have to say that they are pretty good. Not as good as a New York or Brooklyn bagel but it does the job with my coffee. I did enjoy it and will be getting them again in the future. Based on my experience I'm not sure why this location is rated lower than the others because I think this place has the same great bagels and service! I got the cheesesteak for the first time and it was pretty solid, I think I might request my wrap to be on a roll next time. Their salads are also a super good value in my opinion, they don't price gouge you to add chicken. Will be back! read more

I'm from outside of New York and Surf Bagel is still one of my absolute favorite bagel places. I love how customizable everything is, especially ordering online- it's so easy to get your bagel order EXACTLY the way you want it and add or take off any ingredients you want. The bagels themselves are excellent, my favorite is the Old Bay which I've never seen anywhere else. The staff at this location are so friendly and really helpful, I was pleasantly surprised by that. Apparently, the Bagelista's at the Surf Bagel in Long Neck are not real attentive when it comes to following a rather simple order to go request. Some people might not mind, but if you ask for 'light cream cheese'..I wouldn't expect it to be coming out both ends of a Lox, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion and Capers sandwich. While the volume of ingredients, aside from the exuberant use of cream cheese, was fine...slicing the tomato thinner would help when trying to eat it, only to have a giant tomato chunk fly out the other end of the rather hard Sesame bagel. The lox was also pretty thick (it may come that way), I can't say if they slice their own...likely not. Overall, not a home run, double or single...more like a bunt...then out at first. Perhaps they thought..."they won't complain"... Well...you'd be wrong. It's about caring for your customer. read more

Got warm cream cheese on an un-toasted bagel that was hard - probably from the day before. Not only is it probably unhealthy to have warm cream cheese , but it does not taste good as well (sour). Ordered a PO'BOY, which (locally) consists of a mushy soft roll (NOT a bagel), a handful of frozen breaded shrimp, a couple of tomato slices, a pickle spear (ugh) and that's all she wrote. My boyfriend and I always make a conscious effort to come here whenever we're in the area. Bagels are amazing and the bagel sandwiches hit the spot (especially after a long night at paradise grill LOL). They tend to turn the online ordering off during peak season but the wait for the bagels is never too long. They clean the tables quickly if you want to dine in. We'll be back! read more

I am from NJ and I love, love, love a great bagel! When I first moved here 8 years ago I quickly discovered 2 places that had a good bagel, j&j in Georgetown and surf bagel in Lewes. Several years ago something changed at j&j and their bagels were no longer any good so I haven't been since. I have continued to support surf bagel because of their good bagels. However, recently I feel they have changed. I got a dozen this morning and they just did not taste fresh. You know you can slice up the day old bagels, bake them, and sell as bagel chips. Or freeze them and use them for toasting, no one would ever know the difference. Please make good bagels! read more
